Su Kexin asked herself and figured that she was probably no such hero in the past life. Still, when she looked at the jealousy on those women’s faces, she could not help but shirk a little.
If these women found out that she was “President Gu’s newlywed wife”, would they tie her up and beat her into a pulp?
For the next few days, the entire magazine company was busy with that Gu Chi interview. Everyone worked with unprecedented enthusiasm, as though they had energy injected into their veins.
By the time the weekend finally rolled over, Su Kexin felt as though she might fall apart from sheer exhaustion. However, she was not done yet; after she visited her mother in the hospital, she hurriedly packed her things and prepared to move to Gu Chi’s house.
It was not that she was in a hurry to move. It was just that she had put it off for several days now, and if she dragged her feet any longer, she was worried he would think she was insincere.
The night before she moved, Su Kexin sent him a text saying that she would move in the next day. He replied, “Should I send someone to pick you up?”
Su Kexin hurriedly replied, “No, I hired a moving company.”
There was a long silence on the other side before he replied with a single word. “Okay.”
The next day, Su Kexin arrived at the Gu Family manor.
Gu Chi’s manor was indeed huge, and it was renovated to look very traditional. There were not that many servants in the house, only an old couple called Uncle Wang and Aunt Zhang.
When Su Kexin moved in, Gu Chi was not around, so Aunt Zhang and Uncle Wang helped her move as they gave her a simple introduction to the situation in Gu Chi’s home.
There was not that much to introduce, actually. Gu Chi was the only master of the family, and now that Su Kexin was moving in, that made the two of them.
Uncle Wang helped Su Kexin move her things into the second-floor master bedroom. The room was decorated in a modern minimalistic style, and when she opened the closet, she saw that half of it was filled with men’s shirts, while the other half had been cleared out.
Su Kexin immediately realized that she was sleeping in the same room as Gu Chi.
Nevertheless, that was not wrong either. She put her things inside and filled up the half of the closet that was empty.
Once everything was neat and ready, it was already nighttime, but Gu Chi was not back yet.
Su Kexin ate a simple meal of noodles that Aunt Zhang made and returned to the room to bathe.
After her shower, though, she suddenly realized that she had forgotten to bring a towel.
She was a little frustrated at how careless she had been. After some head-scratching, she opened the bathroom door carefully.
The bathroom Su Kexin had showered in was attached to the master bedroom. Aunt Zhang and Uncle Wang stayed on the first floor, so there was no way they would come to the master bedroom. With that thought in mind, she grew a little bolder and ran right into the master bedroom.
Su Kexin was looking through the shelves for a towel when she suddenly heard a clatter behind her.
She leaped up in shock and turned around, only to see the door open and Gu Chi wheeling himself into the room slowly.
