When I woke up this morning my mother was already up and out of the room. She, however, left me a small letter with breakfast.
Morning honey.
I am sorry I wasn't here when you woke up. I wanted to thank you for spending some time with me yesterday. I asked the chef to prepare your favorite breakfast. Chocolate chip pancakes. Charles is coming over today and your brother is coming to spend some time with you also. I will try to spend some time with you again tomorrow.

I went to shower and just as I was about to dry my hair I heard a knock on my door. My brother came in and he looked worried.
"What's wrong Vic?"
"Sit down we don't have much time until Charles comes." I sit down on my bed while my bother sits on the chair. I start eating while my brother speaks.
"So I found out what happened the night at the ball. Father tried to bribe your mate into leaving you alone. Your mate did not like that idea so father had the guards beat him up. Nothing bad would have happened to your mate but father knew that a werewolf in his wolf form would seriously beat the guards so he asked a vampire doctor to inject him with wolfsbane."
I just stare at Victor trying to wrap my head around this new information.
"You know how messed up that is right? Father could have killed Andrew and his wolf if he was injected with too much?"
"I know it is messed up Saph. Father is a sick bastard. How are you so calm about this?"
"You don't want to be in my head right now. I may look calm on the outside but I am not calm on the inside. By the way, have you heard anything back from Emelia?"
"No sorry. Still no letter. Just remember it might take some time. Just relax okay."
There was another knock on the door. Victor and I both looked at the door. Charles came walking in. He gave me the sweetest smile and kissed me on the check.
"Hello, Saph and Victor. How are you today?"
"We are fine Charles. Why are you so happy?"
"Well, Saph. My mate agreed to the plan. She said that if this means we can be together in the long run she is willing to wait for as long as it takes, but she did make me promise to come to see her from time to time. If that is okay with you?"
"Charles this is great. I am so glad Sapphire decided to share the plan with you." We all burst out laughing. We all knew that Charles's mate was the last obstacle in the plan.
"You know Charles I will never keep you away from your mate. You can skype each other every night where I am concerned. You also need to tell her that we won't be consummating the marriage. This marriage will only be a marriage on a piece of paper. Luckily we won't need to mark each other. So that won't be a problem. I was serious when I said I wanted us to be friends. That goes for your mate too. I will love to meet her once all of this is behind us."
"Thank you, Sapphire. You said you also met your mate. What can you tell me about him?"
"Not much actually. You remember Emelia from the ball?"

We spend the rest of the time talking about random things. Our moods have turned sombre and I tried so hard not to get stuck in my head. I can't believe people like that excites it makes me sick.
