chapter 2

   It's been 3 months since that incident happened. And I never saw Clench ever again.

After that day, he never showed up in our school.

The news about his parents' death was broadcasted by the media, of course, but the news said the killer went unknown.

Are you curious?

Well, I heard that Clench told the police that his parents were already dead when he got home.  And he never sees any trace of the killer, nor even the killer's shadow.

I don't know what am I supposed to react about it. I was speechless in surprise, he still protected me then. However, it still hurts me.

He never told them about me, which made me feel culpable. But I wonder what did he do to the CCTV's at that house.

And one more thing,  he never comes to see me. He doesn't give me any call either. That's the worst ever.

I never had the chance to elucidate to him everything, about my job and about his parents' illegal business which my father and the Department are investigating for a long period of time.

I tried to contact him but he changed his number, as well as his address. I came back and forth to their house but I see no one in there.

I'm so depressed. I've missed him so bad and all I can do is cry and criticize myself. I regret everything right now.

I may be free from being an assassin, but then, I am now a prisoner of my past.

The day of the incident:

Mr. A called me and I left the hospital without saying goodbye to both Clench and Neil!

I really don't want to answer the call but Clench got irritated. I'm so dumb that I didn't just turn off my phone's ringtone.

It's because of my mind that it is not concentrating on what was around me.

I'm worried about leaving behind my job as an assassin. Thinking about who will be the next ace? Can he or she do the job? I don't know but how I wish, I can really quit.

I'm spacing out while I'm letting the wind from the window to touch my face, trying to comfort myself.

"You okay, Ms.Ylisha?" Asked Mr. A.

I'm having a headache and I felt discomfort. So, I don't have any mood to talk to him. And he eyes sighted me. He becomes thoughtful and just drove me home. I felt relief for he doesn't have to ask me.

As we finally got to our destination, which is our home. I emotionless went inside and saw my father, standing in front of our window, glancing outside.

I sighed and walked towards him. And I guess, he notices me already.

"Ylisha, this will be your own mission," my father said while holding his cigarette looking at the sky, seriously yet worried.

I don't know what my father is planning, but I have to tell him now.

"Why does it have to be just me?" I curiously asked him.

"It's because besides that you're the department's ace, you are the only one who can really do the job," he seriously answered.

Only me? Well, I don't mind as long as it's my last job.

"Okay, I will do it alone. But dad, after this mission, can I quit?" I asked him without hesitation.

"It's now or never Ylisha," I thought. I'm waiting for him to answer. I'm nervous.

I wanted to stop. I know they were criminals. But, the people I killed are slowly killing me mentally, they keep appearing in my dreams. Their screams are keeping me awake every night and I couldn't sleep.

My father looked at me and said, "Yes" without hesitancy.

Honestly, I didn't see that coming.

I tried to quit many times before, but he never agreed and we always argued because of that.

But this time he just said, yes. Yeah, I'm pretty sure that I clearly heard him agreed.

"So what will be my mission?" I  excitedly asked.

My father glanced at me and called Mr. A.

As Mr. A walked towards me. He handed me a small envelope.

I was shocked to see Clench's parents' faces as I pull out the pictures inside this envelope.

"Dad, what is this?" I confusedly asked.

"Ylisha, I know your relationship with Clench, I'm always watching you, but his parents run an illegal business, they are our number one enemies," my father explained.

But I can't accept it. That's why I refused to do it. But my father insisted.

"Ylisha,  only you can go near them, since they know you,"

I'm trying to puzzle up everything,

" Is this the rest of the reason why you let him come here, last time?" I exclaimed.

"Listen to me Ylisha, there are no other men who can do that, even Mr. A. They have a lot of security access inside there house, plus,  they are very smart people. I'm sorry for not telling you. I just knew that when I asked him his full name. I didn't know that he is those people's son," he clarified.

" Ylisha, think about it. I will let you quit after this mission. I actually don't want to, but its time for you to have freedom of existence. 'Cause after this mission, we will be fine as well. Listen, they are the last person we've been looking for Ylisha, think about it carefully. I will wait," my father added.

My father's words made me think so difficult. I can't kill my boyfriend's parents! That's cruel, plus, what about Clench? He will be lonely.

But at the same time, I will be free.

"Urgh! What should I do?" I mumbled and keep biting ky fingertips, thinking the best decisions I could do.

I know it sounds selfish, but I wanted to be free on this job which I will be able to live with Clench in the future. Where no more memories will haunt me anymore and most importantly, I will not have to tell him about me, because I will not stain my hands with blood again.

An hour has passed.

I keep thinking about what to do. And I decided to accept the mission.

I will assure you that Clench will never know about this. Besides, I'll be free after this.

And the fact that his parents are both criminals after all.

I must not hesitate to kill them. So I set aside what I am for the main time, and decided to be a murderer this time.

I killed many people. This thing is easy for me now. Though, I need to sacrifice my boyfriend's parents to escape this painful job of mine.

"Ylisha, don't regret this in the future," I said to myself and I get my sword, and hang it in my back. And I went to see my father.

"Dad, I will do the mission," I announced and he got surprised even Mr. A.

"Ylisha, you sure?"

"Yes, so let me do the mission now before I change my mind," I said.

My father surprisingly grinned and tapped my back trice.

"Goodluck my daughter," he whispered.

Mr. A drove me to Clench's parent's house and left before others can see him. I wanted to make it quick before I change my mind.

"Ylisha? You're here! Are you with Clench?" Clench's stepmother said. I was amazed when I found out that their house is really secure. There's too many CCTV camera.

"Gosh, I have to take good care all of this then," I mumbled.

"Ylisha? Are you with Clench?" I instantly came back to my senses when I heard Aunt.

"No aunt, I just want to take a visit," I said immediately and she smilingly let me in, inside. But I can feel her curiosity.

"By the way what's in your back?" She asked while looking at my sword that covered by a black mental sword case.

"It's props aunt, I'm using it for school projects later," I lied and she believes it.

The house is filled with blackboards as I enter the room. I can't see the full details that were written on each board.

They might be there illegal business plans. I wanted to look at them but I got scared when Aunt told me that Clench will come here soon so. I decided to kill them and take good care of the CCTV immediately and escaped.

And luckily I had the chance, aunt went upstairs and left Clench's father here.

"Ylisha, don't be nervous," I whispered, scolding myself.

I turned off the lights that made him shocked. And like a ninja, I started to stab him at the back.

I might be cruel but I stabbed him directly right at his heart, for him not to suffer anymore, and just die immediately. I'm shaking looking at him dying in my hand. And his eyes are wide open as he recognizing me from the dark. He looks surprised and his eyes are full of sadness and lost his breath.

I burst out tears. I'm shivering with fear and pain. I used my hand to close my uncle's eyes and left him lying in the kitchen. And went straight upstairs.

Aunt is humming inside her room but got startled when I enter without knocking.

" Ylisha? you startled me," she said and smiled at me. But her smiles' slowly turned into fear when she saw my sword covered with blood.

"What had you done, Ylisha? You're really..."

she didn't continue speaking, then tried to run like she's going to get some weapon to safety herself. But before she does. I grabbed her and she fell down on the floor.

"Ylisha, please, step back! Don't go near me, there's a baby inside me! Don't kill me," she said begging me not to kill her.

I can't breathe when I heard that, Clench will going to have a sibling.

I spaced out for what I heard. Then my aunt started to glance at the corner. I looked at what she was staring at.  And I saw a gun. I have no choice and grabbed her again before she could get the gun.

I covered her mouth with my one hand, and I closed my eyes and stabbed her. I can hear her groaned as she's forcibly trying to remove my hands, from her mouth.

"I'm sorry, Aunt, ". I cried,  then I heard someone entered the room I thought it was Mr. A.

"Did he came to check if I did my mission?" but the room is all quite then I saw Clench lying on the floor looking at me sobbing!

He looks at me with a fear painting on his face. I couldn't step my feet.

"This isn't the scenario I'd been thinking to happen,"

"Clench!" I wanted to explain but he stopped me.

"Don't..co-come.. near me," he shouted, his voice is trembling.

I can't help but moan. It injures me, to see him being terrified of me. I don't want him to discover this other viewpoint of me.

I tried to elucidate him what is happening,  but before that happened.

Mr. A suddenly came and tried to kill him.

But thank goodness, I was able to stop him.

I dragged Mr. A outside but he keeps insisting.

He keeps explaining that it's very risky because he saw me.

But then, I begged him not to do anything. And just let me take care of it. We keep fighting but he has no choice because it's more dangerous to stay here. We are not able to be seen by others. Since our job is very confidential.

All I did is to check my phone, just in case, Clench will contact me.

Then I saw my unread messages from him and too many missed calls, from him and Neil, asking me where am I? And why do I suddenly left the hospital without saying goodbye?

I shed tears, I'm worried about what will happen now. Will they arrest me? But I know I'm safe, I am part of the private agents. But what I'm afraid of, is that people are going to know what we are. And Clench has large proof. I have no chance to wipe out the Cameras.
