chapter 7

Liam's POV

I never thought that Patricia would just shut off her emotions and act like nothing matters. I might have just ruined the sweet beautiful lively girl in her. I know that what I did to her is wrong in every possible way. I know that. But her trying to end her life because of it would be a burden I would carry for eternity. 

I made sure that I was always next to her. She was slowly fading. She refused to eat and drink. She even refuse to talk to anyone. She was shutting us down. The others don't sit well with me giving my blood to Patricia the first time she decided to slash herself with broken glass but we had no choice. Rushing her to the hospital was not a risk we were willing to take. She was stubborn and continued to just do nothing. I do admire her dedication but one way or another she just had to stop acting stupid. 

We were able to get a tip where Steven might be so Hendrick decided to follow up the lead. Natasha wanted to go but Hendrick didn't let her. We had to do something to track Benedict. And besides I can't risk guarding Patricia just by myself. I know I can protect her but we had to be extra careful. Sam volunteered to go with Hendrick since most vampire in New York doesn't really know Hendrick. He kept his distance from me after the Elena incident. So Mikel was left with us. 

Luckily the palace was ready for us to move in after a few days. The doctor suggested to give Patricia some sedative so she  won't try to do anything stupid and put some IV on her so she wouldn't be dehydrated since she refused to eat nor drink. I had to go with it since Natasha told me that I can't just keep giving her my blood to cure her. What if she felt better and killed herself. She would end up like one of us. And I can't have her angry at me for eternity. I love her.

I know, all this time they were right but I had to be certain and the moment I saw her bleeding to death confirmed it. I realized that I can't live an eternity without her. This was ten times stronger from what I felt from the other women I loved. And it fucking scares me. The attraction I felt towards her was bringing out the worst in me. I want her all to myself. But at the same time I have to stay in full control. She is a mere human after all. 

We got into the island palace with Patricia still heavily sedated. She has been sedated for 2 days and she seems to look better since the IV was keeping her hydrated. What they didn't know was I was injecting some of my blood into her IV so she would get better faster. I put her in my chamber in the palace and looked at the portrait of the two of us in the room. It's a massive portrait. I even have them place some painting materials so she can start painting once she get's well. I went to the bathroom and prepare a bath for her. We all agreed that she no longer need to be sedated since she would not be able to go anywhere and I'll have an eye on her 24/7. I was putting some rose petals on the bathtub when I heard a loud thud. 

"What the hell?"I panicked when I saw her on the floor bleeding. "Are you fucking serious? You really give me no choice." I bit my wrist and force her to swallow my blood. "If you even think of killing yourself again I'd be more than happy to snap that head of yours this minute and turn you into one of my kind." I yelled loudly.

"What happened?" Natasha barge in the room with Mikel.

"She decided to fucking break her skull against the cupboard." I answered then pick her up and throw her in the bed.

"Hey, stop you might hurt her." Mikel run next to her. "Stop crying." He stated trying to calm her.

"What did you do?" Natasha moved closer to her when she saw the blood on her face.

"Gave her the ultimatum." I stated seriously. "If she decided to kill herself with the amount of vampire blood in her system she'll turn up to be one of us."

"Prick!" She screamed angrily at me. "You fucking asshole."

"See, now she's talking. I told you I can break you, love. I am not someone that you can just ignore and pretend I don't exist." I smirked at her.

"You're a monster." She throw the lamp at me.

"I've been called worst. Try again, love." I stated and pointed at the door for Natasha and Mikel to leave.

"You used me. You raped me and now you want to turn me into a monster like you." She screamed loudly at me once the two were gone. "How could you do that?"

"Because that's just who I am." I replied and sat next to her.

"I thought you were different." She slapped me repeatedly. "But you ruined me." She cried angrily and I just let her hit me.

"Stop. You're hurting yourself." I held both her hands and kissed her forehead when I saw he hands were already numb. "Listen, your going to be okay. Just stop trying hurt and kill yourself."

"You made me want to do it. You're the reason I feel like a worthless shit." She moved away from me. "How could you force yourself to me? How could you?"

"I made sure that you enjoyed every second of it." I replied coldly. "Don't dare lie to me and tell me that it was the best time you had with any other man."

"You're pig." She shouted back at me angrily.

"As I said, I've been called worst, love." I stated. It was good that she was now talking.

"The least you could do is apologize." She stated defeatedly and cried while hugging the pillow.

"Come here." I open my arms wide open and she moved closer to me. "I can't say I'm sorry for my actions, love." She settled her head on my chest sobbing. "If I had a choice, I would still do it. You can hate me all you want but this is who I am." She stared on my eyes "I love you and I have a strange way of showing it." I admitted.

"You love me?" She looked at me confused.

"Just between you and me. I love you so much that's it's driving me crazy. You see as a vampire our feelings, emotions are very intense. It's very hard to hold back."

"No way. I don't believe you." She moved away from me. "That's your excuse for raping me. You love me? If that's the way you show you love someone I'd rather have you hate me."

"Do you think this is easy for me to admit? Do you think I don't question my own feelings and sanity?" I replied angrily. "I said I love you. How dare you question my feelings for you."

"Liam, what do you expect that I would be jumping up and down because you love me. Oh. please. I thought I was delusional."

I walked out before I lose my temper on her again. I admitted that I love her. I can't believe I just told her that. I had to talk to Natasha regarding the updates about Steven and Benedict's whereabouts. I found her in the garden walking back and forth. She looked really worried.

"That was fast." She smiled when she noticed me.

"Are you okay?" I asked.

"I'm thinking. Why would Steven be going to New York the same time the hunt for Patricia started? Steven would never set foot in New York because of you." Natasha stated.

"Maybe he had a very important thing to do. So he didn't keep his promise." I reasoned.

"Something is not adding up, Liam. I think Steven might be working with Benedict. Let's look at the facts. It's been almost three months since the killings started and Steven went to New York almost at the same time when Hendrick and I arrived in New York." 

"Shit. But Steven would always have our back he wouldn't betray us. What would he get from working with Benedict and killing Patricia?" I replied.

"Well, you  know Benedict has his ways into talking lies. He might have convinced him or something. But you're right Steven would always have our back despite the fact that he hates you. I mean, he did moved to the opposite side of the world so he couldn't see you."

"That he did. So him going to New York means something was up." 

"I hope Hendrick get some updates. By the way, Benedict has been spotted nowhere. His hiding and we have no clue were he could be."

"I have my connections check him out too. Same. It's like he disappeared on thin air."

"Well, I guess we just have to stay here and wait." She replied. "On the other hand, you weren't seriously planning to turn Patricia, are you?"

"I couldn't have her mad at me for eternity."

"Liam, if you do turn her you would have some serious problems." She stated laughing. "As a human she's already a handful. Her being a vampire might send you to your death grave."

"I know. Don't worry Hendrick is going to be okay." 

"The hell I care. His a total showoff. I should have been the one to look for Steven. You both know that Steven likes me more than the two of you."

"Natasha, why did you turn Hendrick down?"

"Come on, Liam. That's ancient history. Whatever happened in the past should already be forgotten. I slept with you and not with him. I liked you and not him. His an egoistic asshole."

"You used me to make him notice you and when he did you bailed out." 

"I think you're in love and you're trying to ignore that fact so you are putting me on the spot with my non-existence relationship with Hendrick. Come on, we're more like siblings now."

"I actually told her I love her." 

"What?! I knew it!" She squealed and started jumping up and down. "Why aren't you with her then? You should be screwing each other and enjoying the moment."

"She doesn't believe I meant it. She told me that I'm using it as an excuse for raping her."

"Well she has a point. You should have just told her you love her before she found out what we are. Anyways, use you're charm and win her over. She's in love with you as well." Natasha stated. "Trust me, Liam. Despite being the heartless bitch you see me, I'm still a woman and I know that she is head over heels for you. Just let everything sink in first. She's really in doubt right now. I mean you did lie to her."

"Whatever, I need some fresh air. I'll scout the island. I'll be back in a few hours. Please keep an eye on Patricia." I stated dismissively. 

"No way. I'm not watching over her. I'll scout the island. Go to her and swoon her." She replied laughing and speed off. 

Well, I guess Natasha has some things on her mind and needed to distress as well. I looked around the garden and decided to pick some flowers for Patricia. While doing so I remembered why Hendrick left New York. We were inseparable back then but I screwed it up. He always fancied Natasha but he never made a move. Natasha flirted with me and me being an asshole that I was, I slept with her. We were together for 5 weeks. We fuck anytime we had a chance and then we decided it was going nowhere. We decided to go our separate ways then I met Elena. 

Elena was human and I fell in love with her the moment I saw her. She felt the same way I thought. She knew what we are and she wanted to be just like us. Hendrick wanted to get back at me for sleeping with Natasha so he slept with Elena that's what I thought. I wanted to kill him the moment I caught them. But later on I found out that Elena was the one that seduced Hendrick since I didn't want to turn her. Regardless, I still hated Hendrick and told him that we should just live our separate ways. 

Elena had me wrapped around her hands. I loved her so much that I pushed Hendrick and Natasha away from us. She begged me to turn her but I couldn't. She used her charms on Steven and he turned her. He explained he did it for me but I was furious at him. I put a stake in his heart and kept his body hidden for 50 years. I was so blinded for my love for Elena that it consumed me and made me into a monster. I felt powerful over humans and didn't care about their lives. When I learned that Elena only used me for my power and authority I was so pissed. When I found out that she never really loved me I was heart broken.

We found out that she was  raising a group to end us- the originals. It took me 50 years to see her true colors so I had to wake up Steven and work with all of them to put Elena to an end. I can still remember how it felt when I ripped her out her chest to end her life. It took me hundreds of years to get over it. But after I ended Elena's life we all decided to live our separate lives. Steven hated me for what I did so he vowed that he will never set foot in New York again since it reminded him of my betrayal. I mean, keep his body underground at one of my house there. Hendrick also didn't want to stay with me because we might get to another fight that would end our friendship for good. We all ended up living our separate live. 

This palace was the common ground though. We meet here ever ten years to catch up. Natasha was the only one that shows up in every one's doorstep unannounced and uninvited. She always try to update us about the others. As I look at the garden, I realized that for years I was never really happy until I spent it with them. Regardless, our differences we were family. And now, Patricia. I want her but does she really deserve me in her life.  She was right, I did ruin her. I might as well enjoy all of this while it lasted.
