''I don't think we should do that,'' Kayla said as she smacked her gum, quite loudly might I add.

''Why not?'' I asked with my face in my hands. I was beyond done right now.

''It sounds boring,''

''What do you suggest?''

We were trying to find a theme for the dance this year, everything I suggested Kayla denied. I'm not sure why she has a say but I guess her sleeping with Zack gives her the power to do that.

She shrugged. SHRUGGED! I give up. I literally can't do this. I was the only one actually trying, Zack was busy playing with her hair and everybody just gave no shits.

''I think your idea sounds pretty good,'' Marcus spoke up. When he said that everyone began to agree. ''It's good but instead, we find a different place to host it like an abandoned warehouse or something,''

Kayla started nodding and clapping like a stupid seal,'' That's a great idea,''

''It's decided then. Next week we'll talk more details. Meeting adjourned.'' Zack said.

''We need to talk,'' I told Zack when everyone got up. I may be in love with the boy but he needs to take his responsibilities seriously.

''Yeah, what's up?''

''You can't have your girlfriend here when we have meetings,'' I said.

''Why not?''

''Because you are letting her get the say in things and her say always undermine mine's.''

''She was offering constructive criticism,''

''She called me a dumb b-word,''

His eyebrows furrowed,'' I need to talk to her about that.''

''Good. Do you want to get Chipotle for lunch today?''

Every once in awhile Zack and I leave school to get lunch, during that time Zack would help me with anything that I don't understand. I prefer when he tutors me because he doesn't make me feel stupid when I don't know something. He walks me through it and at the end he would administer a test and if I did well he would buy me dessert.

''I've been craving a burrito. What subject do you want to do today?''

''Velocity in Physics, Mr Gooden is going to give us a test next week and I haven't been keeping up.''

''You know you can't let theatre and drama take up too much of your time, remember last year?''

I did remember last year when I got suspended from club activities because I was failing half my classes and my drama teacher shouted at me and removed me as the lead. If it wasn't for Zack and black tea I wouldn't have been able to pull back up my grades, I didn't get back the lead though.

''I know some stuff but not a lot,''

''Alright I'll help and I'm going to help you with your conjunctions because you suck at that,''

I laughed,'' Thank you best friend,''

''How was the game?'' Zack asked. That was the thing, he always wanted to talk about stuff while I just wanted to suppress everything.

''It was fun, we went out to a diner after with Kevin, Zoa and Jace.''

We were walking to class just talking and having a good time.

''Zack, let's go have a bit of fun before class,'' Kayla said as she popped up from nowhere. 

''Bye KiKi,'' he said as his girlfriend dragged him away.

I knew he wasn't going to be in the first session of the class and so I have to pay attention.

I hooked my math textbook under my arm and held my bag between my legs. I should ask the school board about bigger lockers.

''Hey,'' Kevin said, he frightened me and made me jumped.

''Hey, could you hold this please?''

I said and handed him a book.

''Do you want to come to lunch with us? Us being Zoa and Luke''

''She can't she's having lunch with me,'' Zack said and basically ripped the book out of Kevin's hand. 

I was busy rearranging the things in my locker that I barely realised when Kevin left.

''You need to stop being so mean to my friends,''

''What do you mean?'' he asked trying to feign innocence. 

''You know what I mean Justin Beiber,''

''Can I pick the song?''

''Don't you always?''

''I'm trying to be polite, I have manners you know,''

''Could have fooled me,''

This is what I loved about my relationship with Zack, we could banter back and forth and not take anything too seriously. For the most part.

''Do you want to listen to rap or, pop?''

''R&B,''

''Wasn't an option but okay,'' 

Zack drove in silence as I absorbed the soulful sounds of Alicia Keys and Destiny's Child. Music was such a powerful tool that could evoke any emotion, it was a privilege we shouldn't take for granted. 

We arrived pretty soon and ordered our food. Zack got a steak burrito and I ordered the chicken bowl.

''Alright, so velocity...''

''.... oh and velocity is the rate change of displacement per unit time.''

He nodded, his face neutral. I really wanted a cookie.

''Good job, continue studying and doing papers and I know you'll pass.''

I broke out in a smile and hugged him,'' I can't thank you enough'' 

''Come on we need to leave now or we'll be late.''

''Remember you owe me a cookie,'' I said as I skipped alongside Zack as we went to the car.
