"What were you doing?" Jill asked me the same question, reminding me that I had to say something.
I gulped in hard, and bit my tongue as I knew nothing to say. Did she seriously hear me speak to Xander? "I was— calling someone. And– and why do you care?" I stuttered, immediately regretting that I did.
"Are you the one doing all this?" She narrowed her eyes at me, her face suddenly pale, and her eyes watering for an unknown reason. What the heck? Was our family issues her problem?
"What the heck are you speaking of?" I chuckled nervously.
"You know what I'm saying, woman!" She hollered, so loudly, and gripped my arm. "Did you hurt that poor woman? Are you the attacker?"
I scoffed, jolting my arm from her tight hold, and frowning in order to pretend like an innocent person I wasn't. "What's your business in all this? Who told you I hurt her? And if I did, how's it your freaking problem?! Huh?!"
"You are—" she was about to speak, but I turned to the stairs, and rushed to it, trying to avoid a conversation with her.
"Come her, you wicked woman!" She cried behind me as I hurried up the stairs. "How can you think of attacking her? That old woman is unconscious right now. Why would you do this?!"
I didn't refrain from ignoring her, and she also didn't refrain from following me up the stairs. "I hate this woman!" I mumbled to myself, glaring so much, and getting really annoyed.
"Don't run away!" She yelled more, and jerked my arm as I reached the last stairs before the large corridors.
I finally turned to her, my anger increasing. "What is your problem?!" I was forced to scream. "I already told you I'm not the attacker. So what the heck do you want?! Are you trying to be an investigator now? What's with you?!"
She pulled me closer to her, which made me gasp. "Stop this." She clenched her teeth, and scowled so much. "Stop your games now. You've been hurting everyone. Can't you see that? Isn't your deceit enough? What else do you want from this good family?"
"Wow wow." I snorted, and smiled craftly. "So you're trying to please Jace by acting all nice right? For hell sake, I've been playing this game for years now. I know that you're only being pretentious. Just go straight to the point, and stop pretending like I used to. If you need money, ask that idiot. He'll give you!"
Unexpectedly, she returned my smirk. "So you think everyone's like you? You think I'm a selfish idiot too? Babe, you've got it wrong. You've really got it wrong woman!"
"Leave my arm, and let me go. Don't make me—"
"Keep your threat to yourself!" She bit out, almost whispering, and still sneering really hard. "I won't give a damn of your freaking words. If you think you can say something menacing, you're also wrong too. You're only selling wolf tickets ma'am."
"Oh wow." I chuckled furiously and nervously. Nervous of her? Seriously? "You'll know if—"
"Do not speak anymore." She cut me off again. I had to admit, this lady always had a way of dominating me. How could that be?! "You've had enough of your games. I'm going to your husband right now, and I'll tell him you're the cause of all this."
"No you won't!" I tried threatening her again, speaking as low and firm as possible.
"We'll see about that," she chuckled slyly, and turned to walk down the stairs. Before she took another step, she turned to me, and winked. "Game. Over." She added, bit her lower lip, and walked slowly down stairs.
Staring at her as she left me frightened, I boiled in so much enragement. Wait, was my game actually going to be over? Was she going to expose me just like that? Was my ten years struggle going to be ruined? Definitely not!
Being overly annoyed, frustrated, confused, unstable, I gasped, and moved closer to her. "Stop!" I hurled at the top of my voice. "Don't do this please! I've got a few months left."
As expected, she ignored me, and continued to walk down the stairs. That was it. This lady had to be eliminated.
Unable to bear the fear that struck me, I ran to reach her. And not thinking twice, I hit her back so hard, and pushed her with all strength that formed within me.
As a result of my hard push, she lost all stamina to control her movement, and started to roll down the stairs like a ball that was being played on a field. All I did was to watch her fall, and gawk like a puzzled person I was. Did I seriously just push her? Did I just kill her?
I froze in my posture, scared by my own action, and watched as she screamed, her voice crying in the whole living room. In fact, her voice was so loud that every of the workers around the place rushed out from the corners they were working.
And as she completely fell down the stairs, the force I used to push her continued to reflect. Uninformed, her legs forcefully hit the slim, hard, and fairly tall wooden vase that was suspended close to the wall. And as a result of that, the vase fell to her stomach, hitting her swollen stomach so hard.
In a blink of an eye, she started to bleed so much. "Ah!" Her voice squatted all through the place, her body involuntarily shaking like a malfunctioning machine.
She wailed so much, and rolled on the floor, helplessly. And the funny thing was that I was supposed to be really fearful due to my action, but instead, a small joy grew within me. Finally, I won! I won in ruining the person that tried to expose me. Not only did I ruin her, I ruined Jace's mom as well. And I was still ready to ruin anyone further.
Quickly, all the female workers hurried to the dying lady, and tried to help her as she cried for help. A smile began to form on my lips. But before the smile could widen, it disappeared without being signaled. It diminished completely. It diminished because of the person who I saw, Jace.
"Wh—what happened?" He was equally scared, then he hurried to her. But before he could help her out as well, she wasn't conscious anymore. It was either she had passed out, passed on, or was in a coma. And irrespective of what it was, I cared less. At least, my husband wasn't going to find out about my secret. My game was still on track.

After getting an understanding of the situation, I hung up the phone. I asked Liu Longting how we should proceed; after all, they were of the same species. Listening to what Ma Jianguo had to say, Liu Longting’s expression remained unchanged. He told me we did not need to prepare anything to deal with that and could head there right away.Ma Jianguo’s house was quite a distance from mine. It was in Tieling, and I did not have a car yet so all I could do was get a train ticket. It was an approximately six-hour journey! I thought that I would have to suffer alone on the train, but unexpectedly just as I was heading out, Liu Longting casually told me to prepare his luggage. He would be sitting on the train with me. That was going to be awkward. I did not mind if he accompanied me, but why would he want to sit on the train with me. Furthermore, I did not have much to talk about with Liu Longting—it would be uncomfortable to sit together. However, since Liu Longting wanted to, I wo
"A day to our wedding, Charlotte realized her wedding gown was shredded to pieces. She called to inform me that she was on her way to pick a new gown. I told her to wait for me to join her because it was strange for someone to do that. Besides, her house was well secured because she was from a wealthy home. Since the wedding was just the next day, we didn't have time to investigate. I smelled foul play so I didn't want her to go alone but she insisted she

NikkiI stood from where I sat with furrowed eyebrows and my gazed fixed on Chad. "Ehat is she doing here?" I was thrown back. My feet were unable to consume my balance and I felt trapped. I wanted to be out of there the quickest that I could. My eyes went back to Rebecca when she broke the silence for a confused Chad that could not stop scratching the back of his neck. He was clearly not expecting her to show up here and was not taking her entrance lightly."Oh my God, you?" Rebecca gasped, "I'm so sorry. I didn't know you were here, Chad and I were just having a little fun time together, I literally thought the pizza man was here." She smirked, folding her arms across her naked body."Nikki, it's not what it looks like I promise." Chad stepped forward and out his hands on my shoulders. "Look, Rebecca is only here because we wanted to talk about our plans for her pregnancy.""Ejat?" I gasped.
EPILOGUE: ... it is still with a heavy heart that I, Chris Ronald, write to you, The United Nations. For the sake of the very lives that have been lost so far in this fight, this struggle for a sovereign state of Nigeria. I still fight, with only one hand and one leg. I refuse to remain silent. Please fulfill the promise you made to my late brother, Chiadi Okorie, the Fisheye, who gave his life in service for this purpose. Avenge us, I beseech you. Avenge Nigeria, for all our sakes. For I, only I, and a few others are still well and able to carry guns to go out into battle against Medusa. But if I go wit
