chapter 6

"I don't think you understand the magnitude of this problem" Clement sighed on the phone. He had thought calling Jason for backup would be a good idea but now he was not sure anymore, Jason was not listening. 

"Clement, you're not only my beta but my brother in law. See sense in what you're saying. Okay let me rephrase everything so your feelings/bond doesn't cloud your judgement" Jason wanted to help but sometimes he needed to be an alpha even though he wanted to be a friend to his beta. He liked the man. Clement was a hard worker and cared about his family, and pack. That's all he had lived for, for the past five years. 

"But.." 

"Not buts, just answer me this. Did Levi ask for your help?" There was a silence in the line while Clement thought of an answer that would satisfy the alpha king. 

"No, but.." 

"Thought so, did Levi tell you he was forced into a loveless marriage?" Jason was trying to make Clement see sense even though the man was very stubborn. 

"No, but we all know his gay" he tried to reason.

"I was straight as  a pole until I was mated to Nick. Now, I love him more than anything. Did you ever think Levi had moved on after you had rejected him?" 

"No" he interrupted fast even though what Jason was saying made sense. He didn't want to believe it, believing that Levi has moved on with his life without him. He was stupid for rejecting him, but he learned his lesson it's been a years. He tried to make amends but nothing had worked yet. 

"The situation is not the same. I know levi still loves me, I could see by the way he reacted to my touch, being around me" by now he was convincing himself more than Jason.

"Have you once thought it was the bond affecting him not you? Clement think, and stops being stubborn. Levi has a child that needs his father, do you want that, for Levi's child to grow up without a father? Use your common sense if the man wanted you he would have dirvoced his wife, and chose you, and before I hear it from Levi's lips that he is in danger I can't do much. 

But I love for you to think about my words, and know I will be here when you need me. As your friend, and alpha." He sighed. He could hear the frustration Clement was feeling. heck once upon a time he was not sure if Abby really loved him. He was hurt and frustrated after his own mate was mated, and marked by another. 

He was going to do anything to help only if Levi could ask for help himself even after what he had done he was still his brother in law. And the child is his nephew. They were family. The only family his mate had left. 

"It's fine, my mate, my problem, I know he needs me, I'm sorry but I will try to think things through but if I feel like fighting for him it's the only thing I can do to help I will do it. I love him after all." He ended the call before Jason could answer. 

He hated that what Jason was implying might be true, but he had faith in the fact that the bond was still intact, it was something to hold on to. Something that gave him hope that there is still a chance. He was going to hold on to it. Until Levi rejects the bond himself, and then he will be forced to let go of the only man he loved.

"Dylan, this is your last warning, I would hate for Victor to find out you're here, but your behavior is forcing me to act. Leave!" Levi shouted, massaging his temple. He was tired and frustrated. 

Seeing his wife's brother was not helping. He hated the entire family, just as much as he hated Michael. They were selfish and only thought about themselves. 

"Brother in law, his my mate, a slut of a mate if I may add. Why would you allow him in here? He's the one you should ban, make him leave before I burn his entire clan to ashes' 'he growled his grey eyes turning fiery orange in anger. 

"His family too, and I know you're the one who started the fight. Dylan stop this nonsense, you need to decide whether you want him or not. This your behavior of going hot and cold is giving us whiplash. It's either you listen to your homophobic father or just to be with your mate, before your dragon becomes dormant." Levi had never talked to Dylan like that. He was always respectful, and tried to make him see sense but today was not one of those days. 

His marking ceremony was in two  fucken days. 

"No, my father will never let it happen. And I'm not a fag" he shrugged  the man holding him fixing his clothes.

"Let's hope so. If my own father, best friend to your father had let his man almost kill his own son, my brother Nick, you think you think Victor will let you be? " He chuckled a plan already in his mind. Maybe he could use Dylan's help after all. 

"You're fucken lying" The man shouted his hot breath hitting all of them at once. 

"He tried killing his son because he was mated to someone who was meant to be forced on me. They don't change plans for you. They will do it. They have their favorite and always pick them over everyone. I hope you're ready to take a bullet for your sister. To be sacrificed to make your sister happy. Now go before news gets out you were here, and Victor puts a bullet in your head for being.. What did you call us? 

Yes, fags" he turned going to his office. He knew his words would get to Dylan.  As they should, if he was going down, he was going to drag Dylan with him. Make him doubt his father's intentions. 

Victor was just like his father, so he already knew part of what he was saying was true. They easily chose their favorite, and screwed everyone else. He didn't know wether to feel sorry for Dylan or use him to get out of marking Julia. 

Screw them, he was going to use him, it was time the old carniving Levi came back. 

It's time to use the knight family against each other.
