Capítulo 5

Sara:

It was a new day at highschool. Yesterday's incident of me colliding unintentionally with Mr...er, what was his name again? Yeah, Alex; it had spread like fire and Dora, his die heart fan, ate my head of asking me how I felt so close to him, how she was so jealous and all. Like come on! I had seen better. I was in army after all yet none of them charmed me. I wasn't interested. Nor in men neither in women. Call me a human robot but I was who I was.

I had to explain her briefly that I wasn't interested in him. But the girl just doesn't seem to get it though her head and tried to tell me about his influencing life, and how she dreams to marry him.

Dreams are dramas that's what I thought. But didn't know my cousin was the biggest drama queen. I was second guessing to come live here. Thankfully aunt took her away soon or I was about to loose half of my mind.

Today, Dora invited me to sit with her group of friends at lunch. I inclined half heartedly since she wouldn't leave me alone. 

Sadly, it was the table of popular kids and just great! As if I thought my day couldn't get any worse, it did. A jock was bullying another guy who looked murdering but did nothing, like he was controlling himself. That guy didn't look from the world of rich from his get up and I knew exactly then what was going on.

I wasn't planning to step in but seeing as the other students were enjoying the misery of their own fellow student, I had to say something.

"Hey stop, will you? That's enough of you throwing crap out of your mouth." I said as calmly I could.

"Who are you?" The jock's thick accent could be heard from a mile.

"Your nanny. Now leave the boy alone or I'm complaining about you."

Gasps were heard around the cafeteria. He laughed and said, "You'll complain about me, hey nerd, first look yourself in the mirror. You'll find many complains about yourself."

"I'll say compliments but I don't have time to waste on you so before I call someone, shoo!"

He turned red and came forth, I think to scare me off but I stood still. Faking being scared. Oh I was good at acting. I screamed, making everyone look my way. Even the jock backed away and two teachers came running. Yep, I was already stealing the lime light but who cares. I made it worth to make them believe that I was just a poor innocent girl being bullied.

The matter was soon discussed and my fake crying resulted in calling the three of us in the principal's office. Me, the bullied boy and the jock. The principal handled it well after hearing from all of us. The jock's parents were called and he was in trouble but I and the other boy were asked to leave with a simple scolding. 

We were walking quietly when he suddenly said, "Thanks for helping but that wasn't required."

"I know some men have ego problems but no problem. I can see you can clearly fight but you remained silent."

I said without looking at him.

He immediately looked at me with his wide blue eyes. The boy clearly looked like the bad boy type with well built handsomeness and a small bandage on his forehead. "You're new, aren't you so you don't know anything about me."

"True dude but anyone could tell you were holding off. Well it was none of my business." With that I walked ahead.

"Wait!" Came his voice.

"Yes?" I asked.

"What's your name?" He interrogated.

"Fara?"

"So Fara, care to hang out with me?" I felt as if he was testing me on something and it was also unusual of him to ask.

"Sure, what's your name?"

He replied with a hint of surprise in his voice, "Alan; Alan Mcferson."

"Alright, well Alan, I'll meet you after class then. In library, I guess?"

"Fine with me." He said simply.

I went to take my class and spotted Dora there. "Hey!" She exclaimed.

Not again, sigh.

I went towards her and seated myself in the chair beside her. "Why did you mess up with that jock? He may bring trouble for you. Why do you even have to help that loser Alan. He's an illegitimate child. His sister doesn't care for him. But oh wait! You don't know anything, right? Let me tell you...." And she went on mumbling.

I ignored her rubbish and focused on the class. Replying with only "yeah" and "okay" where needed.

After the class I went to the library. There I spotted Alan and went where he was. Taking my seat, I started reading in silence. Suddenly Alan whispered hardly, "I know until now you must have heard alot about me."

I looked at him and asked bluntly, "How do you know?"

"Dora, your cousin is known for her gossiping habit around campus. She's rich and famous, and she loves to bully her targets. I'm one of them and just thinking, why are you still pretending to be nice?"

"Firstly, not everyone is the same. Secondly, you being illegitimate wasn't your fault to begin with. Be thankful you're living. Thirdly, rich or poor, human beings are the same in my mind so it never mattered. Fourthly, if the librarian kicked us out, I'll beat you myself." Then sweetly smiling at him, I started reading again. 

I knew I left him speechless and his examining didn't bother me. The boy was insecure and yet many girls liked him but none talked to him caring for their reputation. Being with him didn't mean anything to me though. I was just here for my mission.

"Tell me something..."

I hummed asking him to continue. "What motto do you have being with me? Your reputation can get ruined and you can be bullied." He asked frowning.

I laughed quietly. "What reputation you're talking about? I've none to begin with. Also the stunt I pulled out today will definitely be keeping many cautious of me. Thanks to you, I don't have to spend time with my cousin eating my head and meeting new people."

"You're her cousin so howcome, you're so different? Look, don't pull up any prank on me or I'll make you regret for sure." Boys and their empty threats. He said it so seriously that any normal girl would've been scared away.

I looked up at him and spoke, "Sure buddy. Do as you please but for now let me read."

Before he could say something else. The loud hush of the librarian made us completely silent. He was still trying to analyze me. Poor boy didn't know, no one could truly know me. Maybe I found myself a friend until I was here.
