LOGIN“Get the kid outta there”, said Frank.
Two men immediately stepped down from the car and brought Sam out of the crash.
“No! Leave me alone”, Sam said.
Even in his weak state, Sam was still trying to resist them from taking him back, but his power was no match for the strength of the men. He had come so close to freedom and now was going to lose it all over again, maybe forever.
“Put him in the trunk. He has no idea what he has got himself into. He dared play the boss. He dared play me”, said Frank boasting of his superior position and that of Lewis.
Since his father was nowhere to be found in the city and Sam’s act deprived them of the only chance to get to him, he was left to endure all the painful and terror-filled madness in the carnival that was planned out by Lewis.
The entire course was filled with pain. Every step he took unfolded a dreadful thing to befall him.
If he ever decides to stay remote, a shower of large-sized batteries would be expelled from above and end up causing him a lot of severe skeletal pains in his body. At a point, he was saved by luck from getting totally roasted by acid.
The carnival of death.
It was designed to torture anyone in manners that could cause instant death, but Sam bore a sign that prevented his death. By the original designs, the more the person goes forward, the more painful and advanced the set traps were.
Sam kept thinking that he was going to lose it – his life, when he foresaw the chair mounted over a shallow sized water. Frank had demonstrated how the entire coarse works and at that point, he knew that there was no saving him.
The water was flowing with high current and that sort of electricity was capable of roasting the living daylights out of an individual, after it had sucked out life from it. Frank gave him an example by putting a bunny into the water. It wasn’t up to a second by Sam’s count when it gave up the ghost, with the skin looking as dark as charcoal.
“Don’t worry. You are already black so it won’t do much of what it did to her, to you as well”, he remembered Frank say.
From the vast number of cartoon episodes he had watched, he could tell that there was no way out for him. As he approached the arena he surrendered to the fact that his life would soon be over. The tears he had been shedding were all dried on his cheeks now.
"This is it boss. The kid is gonna get the shock of his life", said Frank as he and Lewis watched as Sam walked towards the pool of water.
That was the final event of the carnival – crossing the Pool of Volts. If Sam could survive the past tortures, there was no ordinary or scientific way by which he could survive high tension volts of electricity surging through his body.
"I must acknowledge the kid though. He is quite the survivor for someone his age. I never thought that he would make it this far alive. Now, there's no way that his luck can help him survive that. Watching the kid go through the different torture levels of the carnival considering of intense pain really soothes my furious mood. The pay he owes me shall be finalized with his agonizing death", said Lewis bursting into an evil laughter.
Lewis was thrilled that the son of his brother, his nephew was going to get electrocuted to the point of death. It seemed that he had lost all the remaining atoms of conscience he had in him before. His determination to take revenge on his brother who betrayed and abused his trust, took over entirely – the manner in which he reasoned.
His heart had become as cold and hard as stone. Colder than it already was.
"Die you son of the devil, die!", he said in his thoughts as Sam approached the waters.
The only way to survive that particular level was to get up a chair placed at the farthest side of the pool, after with he could climb to the safe ground – out of the carnival. Still there was no way Sam could've jumped so far as to land on the chair.
"So well for having a rich dad that could get me everything I wanted", said Sam stepping his foot into the water. He knew he was going to die but he did it anyways. He thought it to be better than living in pain, suffering and hunger.
With the volts of electricity surging through his body, Sam felt a tingle around the top of his head. His brain could no longer coordinate his body organs.
Sam fell to the shallow pool face flat.
He was unconscious.
"Woo Hoo!", cheered Lewis standing up in satisfaction. He thought Sam to be dead unable to survive the shock. Strike 1".
"One down, one more to go", said Lewis with joy and conviction mixed up inside him.
With eyes wide in surprise, Frank tapped Lewis.
"What is it? Can't you see that I am in the middle of a celebration. My revenge is slowly paving way into reality. After the death of this kid tonight, we would figure out a way to draw in his idiot of a father, from wherever he may be hiding", said Lewis.
"I wouldn't be so sure if I were you", said Frank.
"What do you mean? The kid is fucking dead so he is out of the picture".
"Have another look. Death didn't accept the invitation I guess", said Frank urging Lewis to look at the carnival course once again.
Lewis swept his eyes straight to the final level and surprisingly, he watched as Sam got up unharmed walking through the water. Instead of the water to end his fate he watched as they made way into his bruises and healed them.
"Somebody pinch me. What the fuck are these eyes of mine looking at? How and why is that kid still alive and going? What the hell enables him to move through that deadly water? Are you seeing this too or am I going nuts Frank", said Lewis in outmost shock.
"As a matter of fact boss, I see it too and I don't think that's normal say more of possible. No human could survive a volt of electric current that high".
"You're right. All my life I haven't seen or heared of someone who is immune to electric shock. This just isn't a normal act. For the kid to have survived a high tension electrocution in one piece and unharmed – not to mention the fact that all the bruises he had are gone, something is definitely out of place, something paranormal if I should say".
"Get your men to pick him up and take him back to the cellar. If he could escape death by the worst means possible – the carnival, then there is surely something out of balance", said Lewis still trying to phantom how a kid of about ten years old, could survive the electric shock that was powerful enough to electrocute a herd of horses in five or ten seconds to death.
"Yes boss. I totally agree that there is something paranormal going on", said Frank.

"What the fuck did you just say Ben?", said Charles on the phone.
He had called the warehouse to check up on things and ensure Sam's safety, when Ben broke the news to him. He claimed that Charles had given instructions to fly Sam abroad to live with him there in Malaysia. Charles immediately remembered booking Sam a flight, and then giving two of his men orders to pick him from the airport.
"Are you certain I gave such instructions? My memory of that day is a bit fuzzy, so I may not remember much of what happened"
"Apparently Sir you did. About a day ago on a video chat with Sam, you informed him that he would be leaving to Malaysia to live with you on the ground that things were not in best terms for you there", said Ben.
Hearing the confirmation of the truth, Charles hung up on Ben. He was furious as well as worried for the young lad. He was affirmative that at that moment, there was no way Sam wasn't held captive by Lewis. He had no idea how he was going to rescue Sam without either of them getting hurt. Charles was so crossed at the fact that his brother had pulled Sam into his foolish shenanigans.
"I promise you Sam, I will find you wherever you are and then bring you back to me safely", he said as the men sent by his dealers drifted off with him in a fleet of cars.
“I promise!”
