chapter 4

CHRIS P.O.V

You know that one feeling when you hate someone but you're happy for them at the same time? Big brothers that have little sisters know what I mean. It's the day all brothers dread. The day your sister gets a boyfriend. Only, when you're a werewolf, it's worse because they're mates. Even though Alex is older than me, I'm still overprotective of her. So is Aidan. When I walked into the school's office in Blood Moon, I could immediately feel the power radiating from him. It was obvious that he had a high rank. When he told me they were mates, I went mentally ballistic. I asked Alex if she was positive that she wanted to go, and all she said was 'Yeah, I'm sure. It's a risk, but it's a risk I'm willing to take. I want to be happy, and e seems like a great guy. We'll figure it out, okay?'

We finished packing and just hung out with the rest of the Omegas until we fell asleep. It was around eleven-thirty when Austin's Gamma, Max, shook me awake. "We're leaving." Was all he said before he left. So I got up and grabbed my stuff. Then I went to go get Aidan. He was still asleep. "Aidan. Time to get up." I said, shaking him slightly. He just groaned and rolled over. After several attempts, I gave up.

"I can carry him if you want. My things are already on the jet." Austin offered. Although hesitantly, I agreed. We all made our way to the jet, which was waiting. When we got in, Austin set Aidan onto the bed thing in the back, closed the door, and sat in one of the seats. Alex sat next to him. I was across from her with Lily next to me. Max and Silas were across the isle, with Alice and James next to them. Soon enough, we were all asleep.

**** (about five hours later)

I woke up to Alex yelling at me in my head. 'Chris, sveglaiti. Erano qui!' She said 'Chris, wake up. We're here!' in Italian. Let me give a quick rundown of our origins. We're Italian. We moved from Italy when Alex was seven and I was six. We'd lived on the Italian island Sicily. When Mom got pregnant with Aidan, we moved to the U.S. Dad found the Half Moon pack, which had been my grandfather's. He had moved away a few years before we had. When he died, it got passed down to Dad. When he passed away, it was given to Josh until Alex was of age. You're probably thinking that it should've been given to me when I was of age. Nope. Yes, I'm their first born son, but Alex is their first born child, therefore it goes to her.

But Rodriguez wasn't particularly fond of Alex. He was one of those people who was nice to her when Mom and Dad were around, and an ass when they weren't. And of course they wouldn't believe Alex when she told them. After all, Josh had been their friend since childhood. He didn't like her because she was a girl and a future alpha, he hated her. He believed that only boys could be Alphas, not girls. So, one thing led to another. Jasmine, his mate, was hesitant to abuse her. Mom was her best friend. But as soon as Josh convinced her that we were responsible for Mom's death, we were goners.

Anyway, when we exited the jet, all we found was a bunch of trees. It was about five thirty A.M, so we were all still sleepy. "It's just trees." Aidan stated sleepily. Austin laughed. "Yeah. The pack house is this way." He said, walking off to the East. "I like this kid." Max whispered to Silas. "Let's get going, I have Alpha things to do today." Austin told us. 

We walked along a path, hidden by bushes and tree branches so that humans won't find it. It was about five minutes until we emerged into a hidden world. There was a huge pack house, at least  fifteen stories high. There were smaller, two story houses scattered around. There were probably more behind them, but I couldn't see that. There were two larger houses near the edge of the forest, most likely the senior Alpha and Luna's and Austin's houses. Off to the West, there was a school like building that said 'Silver Claws Elementary School'. A little ways off, there was another school building that read 'Silver Claws Middle'. A ways behind them were two more buildings, but I couldn't read those. There was a slight chuckle.

"I take it you like the pack already." Max laughed at Alex's expression. Her eyes sparkled in the rising sun, wide with excitement. 'Are we allowed to USE all of this?' She wrote on her notepad, showing it to Austin. "Yep, you can use all of it." He started getting closer to her, but I grabbed the back of his shirt and pulled him back. "Three feet, Black. Three feet." I whispered in his ear. His eyes went dark for a moment before turning green again. 

I got this sudden urge to dismiss the Gamma and Delta. "Hey, Max, Silas. You both have mates, right?" They nodded. I'm probably going to get killed for this. "You've had a long four days without them. Go ahead and see them." The two looked to Austin, who was glaring at me. "Fine." He mumbled. Then the Gamma and Delta were gone. 

Austin pointed to one of the larger houses. "That's mine. You all go there, I'll meet you in a bit. I need to talk to Chris for a moment." Alex nodded and started towards the house. She looked back at me. 'Chris, don't get killed.' Then she shut the link and walked away.

Once they were gone, Austin turned to me. "I don't know if you've figured it out yet, but I'm the Alpha of this pack. Not you. Only I can dismiss my pack members, Chris. Know your place, or you won't have one." Then he turned on his heel and walked to his house. I stood there in shock. Soon enough, a guard came up to me. He looked tired. 

"Chris Arrowwood?" I only nodded warily, he shouldn't know my name. "According to Alpha Austin, you're to be put in a cell until either he or your sister comes and gets you." He grabbed my arm and pulled me along. When he put me in the cell, he looked at me and laughed. "You'll be dead no matter who comes and gets you."
