chapter 5

After a quick breakfast I headed to my office, I went through all the information we had on recent rogue attacks and made note of any significant events that would help us in tracking them easier, we had Tatiana now and hopefully that would give us an upper hand, but I still needed to speak to Devin about the particulars of the attack.  

At 8 am I decided to get the group together to get started. My first stop was Tatiana’s room, the door opened to reveal my Tatiana and my mother who looked to have been talking.

“Hi, sorry for interrupting, but we are about to have a meeting and I would like it if you joined us.” She smiled and nodded.

“Okay, Hannah will show me down.” I gave a curt nod and walked back to the elevator.

As I made my way to the fourth floor I mind linked Papa Jamie, Dad, Connor and Bradley, ‘Good morning gentlemen, I would like to formally invite you to the planning of the overthrowing of the upcoming revolution. The venue is the Alpha’s office at 8:30 am, sharp. I look forward to seeing you all there.’ I spoke formally and received a series of amused confirmations.

I was contemplating whether or not to have Devin, Hunter and Justin at the meeting, but suddenly found myself in front of Devin’s bedroom door.

I took a deep breath before knocking, my mind wandered back to the dream I had, but before my thoughts could get ahead of itself the door flew open. Devin’s eyes widened at me standing before him and my eyes instinctively fell on his shirtless chest.

WOW, he is hot!

They lingered there for a moment before I gathered my wayward thoughts and met his amused eyes; my cold voice cut off any comment he was about to make.

“There is a meeting in my office to discuss our plan of action, get your Beta and Theta and meet us down there at 8:30 sharp. Don’t be late.” Sensing my mood, he gave a curt nod.

I could feel his eyes on my back as I walked down the hall, until I stepped into the elevator. I leaned my head back against the elevator wall and sighed in relief.

I don’t think there will be a day he will stop affecting me.

I was going to need the strength of the Goddess to remain calm throughout this meeting.

At 8:15 Tatiana entered my office, “Jake just informed me that him and Dris are on their way with their mates, so let us just wait a few minutes.” As the words left my mouth there was a knock on the door which opened to reveal Jake and Rosie followed closely by Dristan and Lily.

“Good morning. Ladies, first I would like to introduce myself, I am Alpha Allison of the Blue Moon pack. I am sure Jacob and Dristan have explained the happenings of yesterday, but I would just like to say how glad I am that you are both well. These two guys are not just my Beta and Theta, but also my unofficial brothers and as their mates you both are just as much a part of this pack and family.” I smiled at both timid looking women. “I have already had the pleasure of speaking to Tatiana; she has explained some things and going forward I would like to ask if the three of you are willing to join the Blue Moon pack as official pack members?” Lily and Rosie shared am uncertain look, before turning to Tatiana for help.

“Do you remember the stories I used to tell you about Alphas and packs, how they love and protect each other?” They both nodded in reply to her question. “Alpha Allison is offering us a chance to have that, you can be with your mates, they will love and protect you for the rest of your lives.” Tatiana looked at the guys expectantly and they nodded, confirming her words.

“We would like to join your pack Alpha Allison.” Rose spoke; she seemed more open than Lilly who was standing close to Dristan’s side, avoiding eye contact whenever possible.

“It would be a pleasure to have you ladies. Please step forward so that we can say the oath and you will officially be Blue Moon pack members.” They followed my instruction and stood in a line in front of me, with their mates behind them protectively.      

“Place your right hand over your heart and repeat after me, insert your own name where I say mine.” with their affirmative I continued.

“‘I Allison Trust Wells vow to honour and protect the Blue Moon Pack and its members with dignity and loyalty. I promise to respect and serve my pack, its traditions and property to the best of my ability. Fidem sicut Luna noctis, umbram secutus. (Loyalty like the moon to the night, follower of the Shadow.)” They repeated after me line for line and by the end I felt as the pack bond was created. There was a special feeling attached to a new pack member saying these words and I felt proud every time I heard them.

They all beamed as they felt the bond as well, Rosie and Lily were both engulfed in hugs by their mates.

“Jake and Dris will show you your rooms; you can get some rest while they join me for a meeting. This is a new experience for you, don’t be shy, just enjoy it.” they returned my smile and left behind their mates after thanking me quietly.

One by one everyone entered the office and took a seat either at the table or on the couch, when Devin, Hunter and Justin entered my pack members eyes shot to me questioningly, but I ignored it and stood to address them.

“Good morning everyone and welcome to overthrowing the upcoming revolution, 101.” They rolled their eyes at my goofy behaviour.

“First things first, I would like to introduce you all to Tatiana; one of the newest members of the Blue Moon Pack. Tatiana along with Rosie and Lily joined the pack this morning after being attacked by a group of rogues yesterday on the east border. These ladies have been prisoners of the rogues for years and finally escaped. I have asked Tatiana to assist us with whatever knowledge she has about this revolution after being there for so many years and she as agreed. Tatiana is also responsible for helping parents escape the rogue settlement.” Everyone smiled in her direction and she returned it.

“Tatiana, this is the ex-Alpha and my adoptive father Jamie Wells. The two head pack warriors; Connor and Bradley. We currently have another pack residing with us after they were attacked, they also the pack to which my parents and I originally belonged. Alpha Devin Summers, Beta Hunter Trust and Theta Justin Childe. Of the Full Moon pack.” I gestured to each person respectively and turned to Tatiana with a smile.

My smile dropped at the woman who stood frozen with her eyes wide in shock, she was staring at nothing in particular with a mixture of sadness, fear, confusion but most prominently anger in her grey eyes.

Her expression caused everyone’s smiles to drop; I took a step closer to her and placed my hands on her shoulders. I looked into her wide eyes and felt Shadow stir restlessly.

‘What is the Shadow? Shadow’s agitation was affecting me.

‘Mate!’

I was taken aback by her reaction; ‘Shadow, this is Tatiana not D-’ I cut myself off and swung around to look at Devin. I looked into his confused eyes and was met with grey eyes strikingly identical to those I stared into just seconds ago.

The puzzle pieces started fitting together in my mind, it was suddenly making sense why Tatiana reacted the way she did.

Something is amiss here.
