CHAPTER 5.1

Lou’s Point of View

3 Weeks After

We now have orientation and counseling for our strands to choose from in Senior High so we have no classes. We are currently heading to the covered court where the meeting will take place.

“Mars, I will sleep with that again!” said Vianca to me. 

“Be sensible, Mars! This is for our future!” 

“I’m going to find sugar daddy so I will never study anymore!” she added

“You fool!” I said while laughing 

“Students go to your respective lines!” Ma’am Robles said who’s the facilitator of this meeting.

We went to our line and sat on the floor. That’s a public student’s life. You are lucky if there are more monoblock prepared for you but it’s okay. It’s not a big deal though.

As I sat down, I saw Cabrera’s line next to us --- Eloisa's section.

“Heeey girl!” I heard someone whisper behind me so I turned around. I saw Eloisa next to Edrick.

“Why?” I asked while looking at Edrick. Eloisa stood up and sat beside me.

“Where’s your handsome and charming classmate???” 

“Hmmm, Gio???” I looked for Gio but could not find him. He may be with Joshua.

“I don’t know” I answered sparingly.

“I noticed you’re always staring at my classmate?” she asked while smirking.

“Who?” I asked.

“Edrick! Your crush?” and she tickles me

“You’re crazy!” I said softly while smiling.

“Okay students, we about to start. Listen carefully because this is for your future” Ma’am Robles started.

I saw Gio and Joshua coming to our line.

“He’s coming,” I said to Eloisa and she looked to the direction I currently looking.

“OMG! He’s sooo handsome!?” 

“Well, he’s our top 1” 

“Really? He’s an ideal guy!!!” And she beats me. This woman is annoying.

Joshua and Gio sat next to me.

“What Ma’am Robles talking about?” Joshua asked.

"I don't know, this woman is talking to me!" Gio looked at Eloisa for a moment.

“What strand are you going to choose?” I was surprised when Gio suddenly spoke. I looked at him and he was also looking at me.

“W-what? M-me?” I stuttered.

“Who else???” He answered sarcastically.

“Arts and Design. Maybe I pursue Film” I answered sparingly.

“Do you want to take Law, right?” 

“Yes, he wants to be a lawyer but he’s afraid of failing the BAR Exam” Eloisa added.

“What strand would you choose, Eloisa?” Joshua asked Eloisa.

“HUMSS gusto ko eh. You know the reason. I want to be a teacher someday...” She answered confidently.

“How about you Gio? What strand you want to take in Senior High?” I asked Gio and he sighed.

“STEM since I want to be take Engineering” He answered.

“Me too! I’m also an incoming STEM student. Hello, Civil Engineering in College!” Joshua said.

“What specialization?” I asked Gio again.

“It’s either Civil or Marine Engineering” he replied while thinking deeply.

“Woah. Nice!” 

The meeting lasted about two hours. They taught the various Multiple Intelligences of a child and the RIASEC.

They also announced that this will be our last day of admission because next week is, we will be having a Sembreak. It was a bit surprising and fun because we could rest somehow.

Although I did not pay much attention to what the speaker was saying, I did understand the point. Maybe if I don't get lucky on the Arts and Design track, I might go to the HUMSS strand.

The students are already standing because they are going home. I grabbed my bag and got up from my seat.

“Bye Louuuu see you after the sembreak!!!” Vianca adieu.

“Bye, Mars! Have fun!!!” I smiled in response to Vianca and hugged her.

“Louuuu are you going home?” Eloisa asked.

“Yes since I want to rest and I’m still sleepy.”

“Okay, we will hangout!”

“Okay go ahead,” I said in tantalizing eyes.

“Lou are you not coming?” Gio asked me and I looked at his direction.

“Nope. Have fun!” I said. I’m very sleepy because I watched a series yesterday until midnight.

“Okay.” He answered seriously.

“Okay,” and I started walking.

"Be careful" I heard someone speak so I turned around. I saw that Gio had turned his back so I just ignored him. Maybe I'm hallucinating because I’m just sleepy.

Month After...

Today is December. Yes, a month has passed. There are no happenings. We came back from the sem break and back to discussions. Syrel joined the United Nations pageant at our school last month. The assigned country to our section was Egypt. She slew it beautifully. She looked gorgeous that day. I love her hair and the way she walks. But sadly, she didn’t win but it’s okay. We’re still proud of her because she represents our section.

The sembreak passed and usually only a week break in public schools. No happenings and I was just at home learning some editing lessons.

In recent weeks there has been pimping. I pissed Eloisa off with Gio. I didn’t expect that Eloisa would like a guy like Gio. The case seems to be negative for Gio because he has many priorities. But who knows ‘right? The wind may change either...

Gio is very is an intelligent man. When it comes to academics, he’s the top one in the room. He’s talented also because he knows how to dance and can sing. But the problem is he’s a silent and observant person. I think he’s introvert. He’s picky when it comes to friends. His friends in our room are only a few. He’s an ideal man for other people but me, our attitude didn’t match because I’m the opposite of him. But gladly, we’re close to each other now. We tease each other, sometimes he helps me solving my math assignments because that’s my weakness. I also help him taking and editing photos.

The time is fast. Seems like the start of the school year is just yesterday and we will be saying goodbye to this school and each other in a few months. It's a bit sad because my classmates and I are going to split up. I learned to love them so I want to make unforgettable memories of the remaining moments with them.

“Okay just pick a paper!” I was brought back to reality when Ma’am spoke. My classmates went ahead and pulled out a piece of paper in a jar. We will be having an exchange gift where we need to pick a name in a jar because the next day will be our Christmas Party.

I did not fall in line first since I’m not rushing. It's also a bit crowded so I’m waiting for them to pick first. I am not afraid of who I will pick and who will pick my name.

After a few, my classmates sat on their chairs so it’s my chance to get one. I got up and I was surprised because Gio also stood up and lined up with Ma’am first. I went to the line and he’s in front of me currently pulling something from the jar. There are only two papers left inside.

When he pulled it out he opened it immediately. After reading it, he quickly hid it inside of his pocket but there was something strange on his face. Why he looked frowned?

“Last but not least, Lou!!!” Ma’am shouted so I laughed. I closed my eyes and pretended that there are more papers in the jar. I rolled my hand inside the jar until I could get the last paper.

As soon as I got it, I opened it. It made me shocked by what I saw.

I laughed at what I read and they all looked at me confusingly. There are so much to ask for, why he chose boxers and socks? I don’t even know his size though. HAHAHA!
