Janet leaned into his arms, laying her head on his shoulders as she inhaled his scent. She loved how he scooped her up, not to mention the fact that she was still straddled on his lap like a baby. Janet found herself snuggling deeper into him, her heart going at a thousand miles per hour.
It felt so surreal - losing Juliet. It hurt Janet so much, her heart clenched at just the thought of going home to no Juliet, at the thought of having no one to talk to her when her mother was busy. Janet was an only child, but she never felt that way with Juliet, now she really did.
The burial was quick, Juliet's mother came in from the village, looking even more horrible than Janet did. She cried her eyes out. For the first time, Janet saw Juliet's boyfriend...or sugar daddy. She didn't know how he heard about the news, but he did. He sat at the back of the hall the entire time, in all black.
She remembered him because Juliet had shown her a picture once or twice. Juliet. Janet felt tears drop from her eyes once more, for the entire week, she was in shock; she hardly ate anything.
Her dad even had to travel back to Port Harcourt, her presence was really missed in Janet's home. "You've have plenty water in your eyes oh." She heard Derek whisper into her neck.
"Keep quiet jorh." Janet hissed, playfully punching his shoulders as he laughed. She honestly couldn't believe that he came to comfort her, she was just so pissed off, hearing the same thing over and over again.
Are you okay?
Oh, I'm sorry for your loss.
She was sick of hearing it.
"Not funny." She mumbled with puffed cheeks, wiping her tears away - still sitting on his laps like it was a normal thing.
"Ahan, you dey whine me? You don't know I be Kevin Hart for village."
Derek scoffed in a mocking tone, this earned a giggle from Janet; the thick Igbo accent hot on his tongue. "Na so." She cheesed, smiling for the first time in week.
This was what she really needed, she didn't fancy getting pity looks from the neighbors or people speaking ever so softly to her as if she were fragile. She just needed them to treat like like they've always had.
Wanting to be comfortable, Janet began to shift on top of him, oblivious to his soft groans, the more she shifted, the more uncomfortable it got.
"Stop moving." He whispered in her ear, his hands gripping unto her waist. "Why?" Janet asked in a soft tone, pouting her lips innocently - but soon understood when she felt something poke her.
"Oh..." She blushed, but never left him lap. Janet looked over her shoulders to see some people staring at them in shock, this just made her cheeks heat up in embarrassment. Janet's lips titled into shy smile when she spotted Ada leaning against the door of the hall with a smirk on her face; staring right at Janet.
Ada stared at her best friend, sitting on Derek's lap with a cheeky smile on her face. She grinned at the fact that Janet didn't seem as sad anymore.
"Hawk eye, see the way you're watching them." A voice cut her off, she tensed up at the feeling of someone's hot breath against her neck. She recognized that voice from anywhere.
"Abeg, leave me jare." Ada hissed at Ope, turning around to see that his face was so close to hers, so she backed away. "You sef, you wan enter me?" She questioned sassily, looking anywhere but at him. Ope wasn't that tall, he only passed her with a few inches; so it wasn't like he was towering over her.
"That's where your mind will go to." He snickered with a smirk, Ada caught on to his words immediately, like he was big enough for her taste. Ada chuckled silently at her own thoughts before walking away from him, but of course; he trailed after her.
"Ah see how you're just leaving, no manners." Ope scoffed, walking by her side. Ada tried to quicken her steps, but he used one of his hands to pull her back to him.
Sometimes the strength he had was surprising, Ada squealed because it felt like she was being lifted up in the air. Stumbling over her own feet, her back hit against his hard chest, her ass directly on his...okay... Ada thought when she felt his junk press against her lower back.
I guess he is b-
No! Focus Ada! Her conscience spat at her before her mind drifted of to how big he felt. "No words again?" He whispered into her ear, his hands still clutching unto her forearm. Her mind was going haywire, she could feel all of him on her back! Why the heck was it moving? Ada's eyes widened as the heat rose to her cheeks, even if she wish it didn't.
"Guy free me jare..." Her voice started out strong but just faded, her breath even hitched when she felt his breath against her neck again. Dammit Ada, get your stuff together. Ada scowled, forcefully moving away from the smirking boy.
"You look flustered." He said with one of his eyebrows raised. Ada wondered if it was just her or if he had just gotten finer over the weekend. No, it was probably just her.
Ada opened her mouth to speak but Gbenga beat her to it. "Hey Ada!" He grinned, taking her into a side hug, not even acknowledging Ope's presence. Ada grinned at the distraction, intentionally leaning into the hug until she heard a scoff from Ope.
"How far?" Ada asked Gbenga.
"Well..." Gbenga began but...
"You want to give her or what?" Ope asked blandly, his eyes piercing through a confused Gbenga. Ada gaped at him in annoyance, why was he still here? Okay...she kind of liked the attention she was getting from him.
"Ahan, what's your business?" Gbenga spat back with a slight frown, no one was really particular about Derek or his boys. Ope scoffed once more, dragging Ada to his side, "As you can see, she's busy." He snarled, still holding unto Ada's hand.
"Abi you booked her?"
Ada glared at Ope in anger, she didn't know why, but his words ticked something off in her. "Piss off." She snapped, pulling her hand away from him and storming out on both of the boys. He made her feel so...easy.
"Ugh! Stupid boy! See his head." Ada hissed once she had reached the other side of the hall, she huffed loudly, crossing her arms against her chest with a pout.
"Just because I've not plucked that his yeye tongue he's using to say rubbish." Ada sneered, she was now ranting to herself. Book her? What the hell did he think of her as? A prostitute?
Once she smelt the same axe cologne, she knew he was near, so she quickly made her way downstairs; trying her best to ignore him.
"Crap he saw me, why am I even hiding?" Ada huffed in annoyance, picking up her pace as she speed walked through the hall filled with juniors who greeted her with a smile. When she looked back, she saw that he was hot on her tail, her eyes widened. "Why the heck is he following me!?" Ada groaned, not wanting to speak to him but the stupid boy couldn't just understand that, or maybe he just wanted to piss her off even more.
Ada turned to her right and sped into the hallway leading to the JS1 block, there was a dark space before one would make a turn and reach the juniors block. Immediately she stepped into the dark space, she felt a pair of hands push her against the wall. This time she squealed in shock, did he freaking run?
"Why are you running as if I'm going to bite you?" The voice called out sounding out of breath, both of them scoffed; breathing harshly.
"Why're you following me oga? Abi you want to book me?" She sassed angrily as she brought her hands to rest on her titled waist. The place was dark, but the light that escaped from parts of the blinders made the room a bit more visible. Ope looked away from her. The way he pursed his lips and squinted his eye in remorse made Ada almost believe that he was sorry, but she chose not to.
"Why are you getting so mad about it?"
"Why am I- chai! Can you see this guy. I resemble whore of Babylon for your eye?!" Ada felt her blood boil, the tension that rose didn't help the situation either. Even if Ada messed around with different people, he blew it way out of proportion.
Ope let out a sigh.
"I'm sorry..."
Ada rose both her brows at his words, almost shocked with his response. "Happy?" Of course he just had to ruin it. Ada hissed, rolling her eyes as she tried to forget the fact that he had her pinned to the wall, his face dangerously close to hers.
Did this guy know nothing about personal space?
"I don't need your stupid sorry." Ada stubbornly uttered, backing up against the wall even though her back was already plastered to it.
"Real mature."
He chuckled, letting his braces show; from where she stood and the way the light flashed against his feature made him look breathtaking. No, no...Ada commot your eyes. She scolded herself, shifting her eyes to anywhere but him.
"What's your own with being close to me sef?"
"Don't get a big head." He sneered back at her, this made her chuckle. She wasn't sure what his motive were but she honestly didn't care.
"I want to kiss you."
Ehn? Wetin he talk so?
Ada's lips parted at his direct statement, was this some sort of joke? She rolled her eyes at the idea. "In your dreams." She spat at him, puffing her cheeks so it would stop being so darn hot, he stared at her lips with a heavy look in his eye.
"No, in reality."
Ugh, this guy.
Ada groaned in her mind, how could she possibly find herself blushing because of him? He was such a dork, yet people feared him. Ope never moved from her, he just kept a short distance between them, never leaning in.
"Why? Because I'm easy?"
Ada gritted through her teeth in a mocking tone, remembering what he had said on the bleachers. Why did she even care? She should have just kicked him in the balls and walked away, but she just stood there.
"Well...actually, no. I want to kiss you because I want to test something out."
What the heck was he blabbing about now? Test something? Did she look like a lab rat to him? "Test it on another person." Ada voiced out as she glared at him.
"But it involves you."
"Too bad." She spat.
"Okay fine..." Ada was about to move but he spoke again, "Push me away." Ope commanded. Ada just hummed in confusion, talking to him was aggravating; but oddly interesting. That was probably why she hadn't shoved past him.
"Ada, push me away in five seconds or I'm going to kiss you."
Ope explained while Ada scoffed, was that even a threat? There was no way he'd kiss her even if she decided not to push him.
"Five...four..."
He was actually counting...? This got Ada riled up, she wanted to see what would happen when he got to one, Ada felt like she was watching a ticking bomb.
"Ada. Three, two..."
He called her name in a warning tone.
Ada just stared at him, as if daring him to continue. She could have pushed him, she should have! But where was the fun in that?
"One."
He finally stopped counting down, but he still stared at her; a smirk growing on his face. "I knew it was just banter-" Ada began but stopped.
It wasn't just banter, because before she could finish her sentence, he pulled her into a heated kiss which made her knees turn to gelatin.
Ada's eyes shut in reflex, her hands pressing against his chest but he just placed them against the window. Ope gripped her waist, using his tongue to tangle with hers, she was stunned.
His lips felt so soft against hers, his hot breath fanning her lips. They stayed that way, with his hands wrapped around her waist and his lips working magic on hers.
He knew how to kiss like a freaking pro.
What the heck?
They broke the kiss for a little while, both of them breathing hard. After recovering, he cupped her face in his hands again, pulling her face to his.
"I warned you."
He whispered, their lips now touching. Ada let him take over, she let him kiss her until she had forgotten that she was meant to be pissed off, heck, she had even forgotten why.
She let him take the lead, drawing her deeper into their passionate kiss.
Just great, Ada.
She thought to herself.

Livius sighed as he stood up and stretched. His eyes strained on the figure sleeping on the makeshift bed. He should go to this guy's home to see what he was eager to go home to.. He took his sword and woke the fox up since its the only one who could tell him where the place was.The fox looked at him in confusion and possible anger because Livius interrupted his sleep."Home. Mariaisabella woke up to the savoury smell of cooked meat. Confused and dazed, she got up and looked around. Where wasshe? Why she was sleeping in her clothes from yesterday? But then the memories of the previous night flashed through her mind. When she heard the sound of laughter filled the house, she left Emerenziano's bedroom and walked into the kitchen space. What she saw was a nice sight indeed.Emerenziano was on the stove cooking bacon. Emerenzian and Mariaisabelle were discussing different languages and agriculture, Maria was sitting on Emeren’s lap whispering something in his ear. Maria must've said somethingfunny because he started to laugh. And Mary and Emery were on the floor pointing atconstellations and drawing star maps. She saw Emerenziano turn around and smile ather. She glanced to her left and noticed that Maria and Emeren were now just leaning their foreheads together. Usually, she would have told Maria to ge
