chapter 10

"Honey."

I put down the brush and titled my head on my mom as she entered my room. She formed a sweet smile when she realized I'm already prepared. 

"I thought you're not still ready. Your friends were already downstairs. They were waiting for you especially Flynne," her smile went wide when he mentioned my boyfriend's name. 

I smiled and nodded. "Yes, Mom. I'll just gonna pack my things, then I'll be there." I answered. 

"Good. Make it fast, okay?" 

I only respond with a smile. As soon as she left my room, I took a deep breath. I glanced back at my vanity mirror, picked up my brush and continue to comb my medium-length black hair until I realized I was her younger version. We have a small face, hooded champagne brown eyes, and dark eyebrows with small, sparse eyelashes. My small turned-up nose was suited on my face. As well as my small natural red lips. A dimple flashed on my rosy cheeks as I formed a small smile. I stood up, gathered all my things, and put it inside my bag. 

I was heading downstairs when I glanced at my friends who's busy laughing on the couch.

They paused for a moment to acknowledge my presence. 

"Morning, Shanna!"

Elisse Charlotte Fajardo. My spoiled best friend, since she's the only child. But got a golden heart so let's say she's not a brat. She's the childish among us. Talkative, a vocal person. She's really pretty with her curvy body, fair skin, and medium-height. Obviously, she dressed girly than me.

"Good morning, Shanna!" Third waved at me. 

Third Lopez. The clown of the group. He's the one who lightens the mood between us. Their family is in the middle class. He got two brothers that always fought with each other so he often stayed here in our house.

He is the cutest and bubbly with his physical appearance. He got a bronze skin and dark brown eye with thick lashes, a pointed nose, and chubby cheeks. Had a curly hair that always in taper fade haircut. He's a perfect example of tall, dark and handsome. 

"Good morning." I greeted them back.

Flynne, my boyfriend stood up and gave me a sweet smile.

He undeniably looks like a model from his appearance. His Creed Adventus scent stuffed in my nose when he came closer to me. I have to look up because he was invading my whole body by his shadow. He's quite tall. He has dark hair that always in a brush-up style. Having a typical face for having those perfect features. He's got a little foreign blood, that's why.

"Good morning, love." He greeted me as he embraced me. I sniffed his perfume even more. I felt his hard chest as I wrapped my arms around him. Since he has a medium-build (not too muscular, though). He only went to the gym occasionally.

"Eww! Gross!" I heard Elisse's voice exclaimed.

"Get a room!" Third screeched. 

We let go of each other when they started to throw off pillows on us. We laughed as we glanced at each other. We held hands when we face them. Elisse was frowning while Third was giving us a disgusted look.

"Jealous? Why aren't you both copy us instead?" Flynne mocked at them, still laughing. 

"She's not my type! You dumbass!" Third yelled.

Flynne chuckled before he picked up the pillows with his other hand and throw supposedly to him, but he immediately dodged so he hit Elisse instead. He immediately apologized but she didn't accept it. 

Elisse picked up the pillow beside her and angrily threw it to Flynne. But he only hit his stomach.

"Stupid!" Third suddenly burst out of laughing, holding his stomach while pointing at Elisse. She gave him a death glared. "Bunch of stupids!" Now, he pointed Flynne.

He glanced at me first with a meaningful smile. I knew what he was meant by that. So, I lose my grip and let him to take revenge. Well, this kind of scene was just a normal thing to me since we're friends since first-year high school until now that we're on the last year of senior high.

Flynne was about to walk towards him when my mom suddenly showed up. 

"What are you still doing? The breakfast was waiting for you all. Eat now or you'll all get late,"

In a snap of a time, the atmosphere went back to normal. Within a seconds, pillows were already in their place. They're all smiling when they face my mom.  

"Yes! Auntie!" Third giggled as he put his arm over Flynne's shoulder.

"Let's go!" Flynne tilted to his side, smiling.

Elisse stood up. The end of her long black hair in high ponytail went in front when she clung into my arm. Her natural beauty emphasizes with her hairstyle. "What are we waiting for?" she giggled. 

I shook my head and held back my laugh. Seems like the war didn't happen.

Mom invited them to eat breakfast with us since it's her rest day from her work, from a clothing company. Being an account manager really will be stressed you out. But worth it, though. 

As we approached the kitchen, different smells from different foods started to stuffed our nose. When we got there, we were right. The table was full of a bunch of savory foods!

Though, my friends remained calm and quiet especially when they saw my Dad who's busy reading a newspaper. They immediately greeted them. He smiled and greeted them back while I kissed his cheeks. He's already on his principal outfit.  

We had quickly finished our food because we might be late if we didn't. We only had a quick chitchat with our parents before we all stood up and decided to go to school. 

Our first-class started with Philosophy which is a boring subject for my classmate, particularly Elisse. It's indeed dull when you also got a boring teacher. 

But then, I had to vary from them. Taking down notes and listening carefully were always my thing. I'm always afraid to get a low grade. It would be a big disappointment for my parents as well as for myself.

After the 3 subjects, finally the most awaited time of the day came-- breaktime! The boys waved when they saw us at the gazebo. I forgot to mention that Third and Flynne belonged to section A while Elisse and I were on C. Holding our foods, I still waved at them while Elisse just glared at them.

Flynne seated beside me while smiling widely. While Third seated beside Elisse. So she immediately move away from him. Keeping the one-feet apart from him.

"Elisse, did you know that you had a look-alike?"

Her brows furrowed, afterward, she rolled her eyes and took a bite on her burger. "I don't care about you, toasted pasta."

I drew a long breath when I realized where it will go. 

Flynne and Third laughed. I just chuckled while shaking my head. Elisse gave him a nicknamed 'Toasted Pasta' because he's dark and curly.

"She's adorable! You really look like him! No doubt! I swear!" Third exclaimed, slamming the table. 

"Who's this interesting guy? I can't wait to hear it." Flynne chimed in as he sipped on his drinks.

Then they both giggled as if they already knew what's running inside of each other's mind. Elisse and I glanced at each other and shook our heads to these crazy creatures.

"Crazy mother f*ck**," Elisse scowled at them.

"It's my butt!" Third exclaimed while they both clapped their hands. Laughing loudly that some of the students started to glance at us. 

Elisse tightly shut her eyes, seems like rage started to pour within her when she suddenly pulled out Third's hair. 

"Holy sh*t! W-what the FU--" he hissed, trying to take away her hand from him. But he couldn't since Elisse is really angry. 

Then I glanced at Flynne. He's laughing. Before I pinched his thigh, my eyes went back at my friends.

"HOLY COW!!" That made him stopped from laughing. I felt his glared so I glanced back at him. Suddenly, his glared faded away and now he's smiling widely like an idiot to me. So, I pinched his thigh and he yelled even more. 

Everday this was the scene that always happening around us. If for others, it's weird and ridiculous, well it's a normal thing for us. 

Flynne walked with me through our house when class ended. He always does. He kissed my forehead before he left. When I entered our house, I didn't see my mom. I thought she's going to stay all day in our house. She didn't inform me beforehand when she was going. Well, my Dad would be home soon. Obviously, I was all alone myself. 

I put down my bag on the couch and went straight to the kitchen to drink water. I was scrolling through my phone when I reached there. I looked up and all of a sudden, I dropped my phone. 

"Oh, my gos-" I hurriedly covered my mouth to avoid making noises. My eyes widened while staring at someone busy looking something inside in our fridge. I surveyed him and I honestly didn't know this guy! He's an intruder! A thief! 

I immediately picked up my shoe. My heart started to pound. Sweat was starting to race all over my face. I gulped as I felt a gut to ask him. 

"WHO ARE YOU?" I fumed; my heart is beating so fast so as my breathing. Suddenly, I realized I should have first called my parents or my friends or guards instead of facing this guy. My life might put on line!

But before I was about to leave, he stood up and the moment he turns around, it was my adrenaline rush that pushed me to threw my shoe on his face. "YOU JERK DUMBASS THIEF!"

My eyes widened, even more, when he showed his face.
