MasukI checked out myself from the mirror again, I was wearing a sleeveless A-line emerald green satin dress that stops on the floor, green always compliments with my eyes color. It hugged my body like a second skin. I styled my shiny brown hair in a long twisted bun, leaving loose hairs on the side falling around my face. I didn’t need heavy make-ups, but I decided to make it look more natural by making it simple. I spun around and looked myself for one last time, ‘You’re Beautiful!’ and winked at the reflection. I crouched down to pick up my three inches white strapped heels. ‘Ugh! Here I come again!’ I sat down, started putting on my shoes. I almost patted myself in the back for doing a great job. I composed myself up and took my white pouch and put all my essentials inside- phone, cards, a bit of cash, and my Hotel card key.
I checked the time, it was two o'clock in the afternoon, the ceremony will start in about an hour. I was about to open the door and leave when I heard a knock on my door. I didn’t order any room service aside from the morning breakfast since I was too lazy to go down.
I opened the door and surprised to see who it was
“Hi!” said Miles. He looked so handsome on his plain tuxedo shirt and turquoise tie. The broad sexy chest was protruding under his white shirt.
“Oh, hi! What are you doing here?” I smiled, stopping myself from ogling his whole sexy body.
“You’re supposed to be with the groom making sure he’s not running away, right?” I kidded.
Miles chuckled. “I'm actually on my way down to check on him, but Mom called me to check and asked to escort you down,” he said in his sweet voice.
Ohh, so again. It wasn’t his intention to escort me down, Belinda had to ask him.
“Thank you, I was actually on my way too.”
“Let's go?”. Miles offered his hand, and I grabbed it. His warm palm sent butterflies in my stomach.
Miles and I walked towards the elevator, the Ceremony will take place to a built-in chapel inside the Hotel on the ground floor. It took a while before the empty elevator door opened and we got in. Miles and I were standing next to each other. No one was saying a word. I was about to say something when Miles butted in
“You looked stunning,” He said in a low deep sexy voice. I held my pouch tight. My neck shivered from his voice. I felt my face blushed, and my nape warming up.
I turned myself side to thank him, but It was too late to realize he was already facing me. I had to lift my head up to meet with his gaze, how he can be taller, I cursed inside. I looked at his blue orbs, he raised his hand and brushed his thumb on my lower lip. The sexual tension between us risen. His face moved closer, and I closed my eyes. I can feel the hot breath coming out from his mouth, I was waiting for his lips touch mine, and when suddenly.
“DING!’”
I opened my eyes, and we were both petrified, the elevator door’s opened, and luckily there was no one waiting outside. I cleared my throat, poising myself up, I felt so red-faced. I can see Miles was doing the same thing on my peripheral vision.
We walked out of the elevator, he guided me by holding my lower back. We marched towards the chapel door. I saw some familiar faces talking and chatting with each other, Miles lowered down his lips on my ear and whispered
“I’ll be checking the groom, see you later” then he left
I nodded and went inside to find Belinda talking to a couple. Belinda saw me and waved her hand, asking to come over. I strode myself into their direction.
“Hello! Guys!” I greeted as I walked towards them.
Belinda draw her arms wide and hugged me,
“You look so beautiful, sweetheart!” She eyed my whole frame “It's so perfectly complimented with your eyes” I blushed “Thank you, likewise!, I love your dress too” Eyeing her long pale red gown. At her age, her body was a well-taken figure, she looked beautiful and young.
She laughed, “Come over here,” then we faced the couple she was talking with a while ago, they were maybe the same age as Belinda and Jack.
“People, This is Kathleen and Kathleen meet Chris, and Leila Adams,” Belinda introduced. “They are Lindsay’s parents.”
“Oh! Wow!” My eyes widen, “Hi! Chris! Hi! Leila!, I finally meet you in the flesh” I reached for Leila to cheek-kissed her, I did the same with Chris.
“Same to you, honey!, You really are Beautiful!, Lindsay told me how so much about you!” Leila exclaimed in excitement
“I hope they’re good ones!” I laughed.
“Oh, honey, you just don’t know how relieved she was when you took over her job, she had a hard time finding somebody that can fully trust, and you knew the whole story!” she said.
It was true, Lindsay took months to find a replacement for her at the orphanage, the one that she trained to take her position almost killed a kid and the other one couldn’t stay off other’s business and concentrate on the job.
“I'm so thankful for that too! I’ve been having such a great time working there.,” I confessed to her.
“We know, sweetheart,” Chris said happily. I no wonder where Lindsay got her great personality. They seemed sweet and lovely.
I was busy telling something to Belinda when on my side vision, a man approached and hand-patted Chris’s back and Leila. He lowered his face to Leila’s ear and whispered. They both nodded and smiled.
I pried to see who the man was. My mouth opened wide as I gasped to see the man. “Mason…” I noiselessly whispered, they must’ve heard it since four of them looked at me, including Mason, I’ve seen his orbs saucer-wide and gulped.
“Kathy…” he blurted softly. His eyes were on me.
I heard Chris cleared his throat. Skeptically looking at us, “You knew each other?” Leila suspiciously asked. She looked at him then looked at me.
“Ahh, yes- yes, He was a university classmate back home” and my ex-boyfriend. I answered her right away, I didn’t want to give him a chance to say something I didn’t want to hear.
“Wow, what a small world!” Belinda exclaimed. “By the way, I’m Belinda!” Belinda offered her hand to shake with Mason. He took her hand and hugged her.
“Hi! Belinda!, I’m Mason, Chris’s and Leila’s most handsome nephew,” he arrogantly introduced himself to us. I was trying my best not to roll my eyes at him.
What really a small world. Of all fucking places, I would see him here, and of all people in my life, he was related to them.
Leila chuckled. “Oh yes, Mason studied a pre-medical course in Switzerland,” Chris said, “right, boy?”
“Yes, Chris, the best four years of my life.” He said as he looked at me with his infamous smirk. I rolled my eyes for like ten times at him.
They seemed oblivious about what was happening.
“Belinda and Kathy, we got to go ahead and check our lovely bride, Mason informed us Lindsay asked for our presence, she’s nearly done dressing and preparing” Leila interrupted.
Belinda and I nodded and let them leave. Mason was still standing with us.
“So you know each other?’ Belinda queried. “Yes, Very much,” Mason answered her and grinned. I don’t like the face he was making. I glared him a ‘shut-the-fuck-up’ look. He still looked handsome though in his coat and tie attire.
Mason was my ex-boyfriend before I came back here in the States. Things didn’t end up well between us. We dated for almost a year, we were on our third year in university. I thought he was the perfect one for me, but I was wrong. I caught him in the act of having sex with my roommate, Rona. I was so hurt; he broke my trust in him and my friendship with Rona. He told me that he was drunk, and Rona seduced him in bed. I confronted Rona about this, and she confessed that she was secretly in love with Mason. I discerned, I was too busy with my studies, and I couldn’t give the attention that he needed, but I was too smart not to fall on his charm to get me in bed. I loved Mason but not enough to open my legs for him, it was a selfish decision, but it was my body, and since we were still at school, I couldn't make any drastic choices. I wasn’t ready, that was the perfect word.
Belinda sensed my uneasiness with him.
She looked at Mason and then awkwardly looked at me “Do you want us to sit down?” she asked.
I nodded and excused ourselves from him. Belinda and I sat at our respective sits.
The ceremony started after some time. I saw David and Miles went out from the door next to the altar, David was wearing an ivory white coat and black pants tuxedo. He looked equally gorgeous, standing next to Miles, who was already wearing his Black coat.
The wedding march begun, the bridesmaids and groomsmen started their procession on the aisle, together with the little flower girls and Ring-bearers. Everybody was looking at the entrance door. The music started, and it was opened wide. The stunningly beautiful bride emerged, she looked dazzling in her white long-trailed dress.
The ceremony went well; it was very solemn. Both the bride and groom cried while saying their vows. It was so sweet and lovely to witness, especially when the priest announced the kiss. Everyone cheered and clapped after the newlyweds sealed the rite with a kiss.
I wondered when I will ever get the same happy ending tale as David and Lindsay. Would I ever have my dream wedding with the person I love? Well, let's see. No one knew what would happen tomorrow. I inhaled profoundly, dismissing my thoughts away.
Belinda nudged me. I didn’t notice the newlyweds went ahead to the reception hall next to the seaside area of this humongous hotel. People have started to walk in the same direction.
“Let's go, Kathy!” Belinda tugged my hand and walked with her.

It felt like forever before the doctor finally made his way round to her. He checked her notes, shone a light in her eyes and asked her a few questions about how she'd been feeling since she woke up. After ticking the right boxes she was discharged with the instruction to rest for the next forty-eight hours at least and some other mumbo-jumbo that she'd stopped listening to about halfway through. The nurse returned her clothes and belongings that had been brought in with her. The white gown was well and truly ruined, with large dry bloodstains splattered across it and a large tear down the side of it. Her matching white heels were also a lost cause. There wasn't much chance of them being returned now. The clutch bag was somehow intact and mostly clean, though her phone had a rather large crack down the screen but was still usable. There wasn't any option of wearing the ruined

Little Cookie was in her early teenage days, was merely 15, when Arthur first joined the club as a Bartender three years ago. Her first impression was that of a little braided skinny girl who sat at the corner and was sucking on her lollipop while few women beside her were smoking causing her to cough randomly. Even though she was not comfortable there, her body frame was just too weak to dwell amidst chainsmokers, yet she sat there obediently as if she was a kid left in kindergarten. She, who was so thin and weak that day, looked like a 10 year old to him; what work did a little girl have in bar, she seemed to be alone too! Concerned Arthur asked around and came to some really stupendous realisation. The girl who was all aloof and clashing to the atmosphere of the club was said to be sold to Seductress a week ago. Rumours had it that she was not a native European but a girl who was exported from South Asia. No wonder she looked darker than the othe
