LOGINKathy's POV
I stepped inside my room and looked around. The chamber size was so big I could throw a party. It looked impressive with its white bedding and massive drapes on the other side of the room. There was a mini cabinet and a dresser near the other door, which I assumed as the bathroom. I walked closer to the small breakfast table, which was sitting in front of the glassed window, I drew the heavy curtain wide to see the view of Los Angeles. I was on the 20th floor, high enough to overlook its spectacular view. I was in awe, the sight was really fabulous. I wondered how it looked like at night. I've visited California before but only in San Diego, where some of our relatives lived. I sighed and plumped my body on the bed.
I can't believe how the time went by today, from awkwardness morning with Miles at home to mini airplane incident to having a proper conversation with him about my job at the orphanage and his works as the CEO of the company.
There was never a dull moment when we were talking. Even Jack and Belinda joined in our conversation. It has been a while since we had a proper chat when there was no uneasiness and argument. I felt Miles had warmed up on me though there was something in his eyes that I can't explain.
The way he had touched my skin when I almost fell on the cabin floor sent shivers down my spine. We were in a very uncompromising position that made my body felt the ecstasy of need. I craved his touch and desired to be near him.
I’ve secretly adored him for years, I don’t think I considered myself a lovesick puppy over Miles, but I grew fond of him every single time I heard his name or just being around with him. He has Nadia now, even though it breaks my heart. She was the main reason why my family suffered. I can't change the past, and I slowly accepted Miles has a right to love whoever he wanted, but I was afraid how Belinda will leverage her condition over him. My feelings for him will always be unrequited if that marriage took place. Nevertheless, both families will benefit from the business side.
I was unpacking my stuff when I heard my phone ringing. I checked the screen. It was Josh calling me. I rolled my eyes, I pressed the green button to answer the call.
“Hey, Babe. Hows your flight?”
“What's up, J!, it was fine, I just arrived about thirty minutes ago” I twisted my wrist and checked the time on my watch; it was only three o'clock.
“Okay, just checking out. I just left your place, I have your keys, so don’t forget to meet me up when you’re back,” He said. I actually forgot to bring my keys with me as I was too busy threatening Josh’s life after the little scene he made.
“Okay, I will for sure, I got to go now, I need to freshen up, weather is so different here,” I told him “and let me know the deal with your future wife, okay?” I teased, I can sense that Josh did his signature eye roll.
“Shut up, let me know when you finally hooked up with somebody,” He chaffed.
“In your dreams, J,” I bantered. I don’t make hookups or one –nightstand. Never did I do anything closer than that. I had a fair share of endless make-outs, though with my ex-boyfriends.
“Dreams do come true, sweetheart,” he sounded certain.
“Bye, Josh, love you,” I said before I hung up the call. Josh, at times, instilled unsolicited advice on me.
I continued unpacking the dresses I brought and started hanging it inside the dresser cabinet. I looked at the sleeveless A-line emerald green satin dress in my hand. I smiled and silently prayed for David and Lindsay’s future. They were my closest friends, aside from Josh and Miles.
The wedding ceremony will take place around Mid-afternoon, and for sure, the reception will be all night long. Alcoholic drinks will flow without a doubt. I silently wished I’d be able to handle myself since Josh wasn’t here to be my overseer. I exhaled. “I guess, No drinks for you, Kathy,” I mumbled.
I freshened up myself before deciding to take a nap. I checked my phone to see if there were any messages, I received numerous ones, but I opened Belinda’s first. ‘Dinner at seven, Sweetheart. Take your time to rest, love you’ I chuckled. She was the sweetest one next to my mom, my heart still ached to think she was goner, but I was not losing hope. I closed my eyes and dozed off.
The dinner went well tonight with Jack and Belinda, I didn’t see Miles, Belinda said he went to the Stag party the groomsmen arranged for David, I remembered he would be the Best man, and of course he needed to be there. Lindsay had her Shower party weeks ago with the orphanage staff, and she had another one recently with her bridesmaids and friends, I got invited, but I wasn’t able to join them as they celebrated it here. I couldn't fly into here and back to New York the next day.
I decided to stroll around the hotel’s seaside, I found out from the brochure that it also had a beachfront view in hotel rooms. My window room was facing the city side but don’t mind it, I still get the best sight.
I was enjoying my walk when I heard a ruckus somewhere the bushes at the far end of the hotel, I didn’t notice I walked too far from its back entrance. I could only sight some small lighted buildings around. Maybe it was an extension or cottages for Private events, I thought. The voices were getting louder and louder as I walked. I hid next to a bent coconut tree.
“What are you doing here?” said the voice,
“You shouldn’t be here, you know that right,” the man said a dull voice, he sounded irritated. I can't judge it precisely since I don’t see their faces.
“I know, but I'm afraid...I feel he’s everywhere,” the woman said. The man didn’t speak
“I’m pregnant, Miles,” she continued.
Miles? My eyes widen upon hearing the Name. How many Miles were there in this state? In the city or maybe just in this place. Wait, Miles?
“Then it's not my problem, Nadia” Nadia!!? was this really Miles and Nadia talking? I moved closer to see if I could recognize their looks, my confirmation slapped me on the face. The tall figure standing near the bushes was Miles, and the woman with him was none other than Nadia.
I turned myself around, Wait? Did she just say she was pregnant? Why was she telling this to him, does this mean he knocked Nadia up, and she was informing him about it. But what was with his reaction? He seemed not happy about it? I felt a tic in my heart.
I looked back and found Nadia sobbing alone, Did Miles leave her there? Was she really pregnant with Miles? Did Miles want nothing with her and the baby? He was supposed to be happy, but why did he leave her there all by herself. Did he go back to the party?
I have a thousand questions running in my head. I may hate Nadia, but the baby in her womb has nothing to do with my hatred.
After some time of crying, I saw Nadia walked towards the cottages and vanished in the darkness. I breathed deep and shook my head, Miles seemed hated the news, and I find it disturbing. I decided to go back to the hotel and call it a night.
I kept tossing my body in the bed, I checked my phone's clock, and It was only three in the midnight, and I still can’t sleep. I pulled myself to sit. Maybe the time difference was keeping me up. Or it could be the thoughts of what happened last night. Miles was going to be a father soon with Nadia's child. I frowned while massaging my side temples.
“I know, but I'm afraid. I feel he’s everywhere.”
I remembered the words Nadia said to him, Why she was afraid and who was everywhere? Was someone threatening her life? Nevertheless, Miles must protect the mother of his unborn child. ‘Ahhh!’ I slumped my body back in bed and covered my face with a pillow. I sighed deeply and closed my eyes, ‘How can I unloved you, Miles?’ I asked myself, thinking of a hundred answers, and that brought me to a deep slumber.

River mengerang kesakitan. Kesakitan yang luar biasa menyergap seluruh raganya. Little Cookie was in her early teenage days, was merely 15, when Arthur first joined the club as a Bartender three years ago. Her first impression was that of a little braided skinny girl who sat at the corner and was sucking on her lollipop while few women beside her were smoking causing her to cough randomly. Even though she was not comfortable there, her body frame was just too weak to dwell amidst chainsmokers, yet she sat there obediently as if she was a kid left in kindergarten. She, who was so thin and weak that day, looked like a 10 year old to him; what work did a little girl have in bar, she seemed to be alone too! Concerned Arthur asked around and came to some really stupendous realisation. The girl who was all aloof and clashing to the atmosphere of the club was said to be sold to Seductress a week ago. Rumours had it that she was not a native European but a girl who was exported from South Asia. No wonder she looked darker than the othe
Celena walked into the kitchen, her nanna used to make breakfast for her. Sweet porridge with freshly baked grain cupcakes and strong black coffee was her favorite, but now she had to make something to eat herself. Opening the fridge someone called out behind her suddenly."Mrs.Stone, breakfast is in the dining room. The family awaits you ."She looked at the brunet woman dressed in a black dress pants and white shirt along with an apron around her hips."Thank you."Celena said politely walking back towards the dining room, she couldn't help but notice how that woman looked at her in disgust. Who was she? Probably a private cook?"Good morning."Celena greeted causing the conversation between four people to come to a stop."Morning."Only her husband greeted back, she felt uncomfortable feeling how the others e
