Breakfast at the Coker's was akara with brown paper, Mr Adeleke was still at his bedroom why Mrs Adeleke was at the kitchen with Bisola. The city room had three brown sofas and two red chairs forming a circle. The television set was placed on the wall, adjacent to the chairs and was switched off. Mr Adeleke came out of his room flexing his muscles, he was a short stout bald headed man. He wore a loose robe which protruded his big tummy. Mrs Adeleke gently walked to the dinning table with the tray of food in her hands and neatly placed it as Bisola followed behind her.

"Good morning, my love," Mrs Adeleke spoke and also instructed Bisola to leave.

"Good morning to you too" Mrs Adeleke replied giving a yawn as he set himself properly on the table for breakfast.

"Hope you had a good night rest?" Mrs Adeleke asked as she sat down and replied with a nod signifying that he had slept well. Femi was already at the dinning table with his family as they were set to eat breakfast, Mr Adeleke asked Femi if he had taken  one of the camry cars to the mechanic workshop the previous day which he affirmed positively.

"What are you planning to do today?" He asked his wife Mrs Adeleke as they ate.

"I will be going to the market to get some groceries." She replied. They finished their meal silently and Bisola was called to pack up the plates. The Adeleke's were the perfect family, with two beautiful children. Mr Adeleke the proud head of the family was grateful to have them. He had wished to have more kids to make the house a full one, he smiled broadly as he looked at everyone of his family. At the earlier years of  marriage with his wife he would wake up sometimes and serve Mrs Adeleke breakfast in bed but as he grew older he couldn't keep up with that as he had a lot of work to do at the office. Also when the children started coming he had to help prepare dinner as Mrs Adeleke was sometimes not at home. She worked at the bank then, and the stress of doing all the house chores alone was too much. But as the years passed by he had made sure to his own capability that every member of his family was comfortable. He so much enjoyed the love of their youth and was still very much in love with his wife Tolu and looking back now he felt so glad that he had married the woman he cherished so much and loved. Their love story, began at their earlier school years as

a student at the university, Tolu his beloved wife had been newly admitted into the university and he was in his third year at the university.

She was in a hurry to get home when the clouds turned cloudy and little droplets of water began to drizzle. In her rush to get shelter the rain began to fall in torrents, she bumped into him causing both of them to stagger. They both apologized at each other and went their separate ways. Then days went by turning into months, and then a year. The department of Economics, decided to organize a seminar on giving their students a business orientation on how to develop and grow their business, and some students were given the opportunity to present their business ideas. Tolu gave an excellent presentation on her own business proposal. This captivated him and made him pick an interest in her. They exchanged contact that day, after the seminar and they both became good friends which led to a reliable relationship and eventually marriage. Their marriage didn't seem rosy at first as they had gotten married when he was still trying to get a stable job but the support of his loving wife never seized and over the years they had bonded so much that they barely had a misunderstanding. He worked earnestly hard to make his family an outstanding one. Tolu's father had firmly objected to their marriage as a resultant effect of the disagreement that his clan had with his own community and being a recognized and respected member of his village he despised anyone or anything  that had to do with his background. As a traditionalist he threatened that their marriage will be futile. After deliberating so much on his daughter's marriage to Mr Adeleke he gave up his disapproval of trying to stop them considering the fact that Tolu his daughter stood her ground.

For sometime now, she felt safe and had obediently worked for them but things had turned around so soon as she became a part of them, but Mrs Coker had let her stay with them despite the circumstances surrounding their lives. Having lost her job, she decided to go sell some wares at the street market down the road but already she had made some contacts with people to notify her when a vacancy for a job is on. She also dropped some application letters in some of the companies that had vacancy. The day was a sunny one with the sun emitting it's scorching rays to the earth, they both stood as they called in a low tone for people to purchase their wares. A man dressed in a red shirt came to purchase what she sold. It was about seven am in the morning Mr Coker woke up like every other working day, he got himself dressed for work and left immediately without having breakfast. Mrs Coker woke up from her sleep as the droplets of rain that fell in torrents last night made the morning air breezy and cold, it was indeed a wet night. She got up from the bed clumsily and looked at the wall clock placed in the middle of the room adjacent to their bed. It was seven thirty in the morning, she grouched still feeling sleepy. She laid back again in bed and watched as two black birds hopping on the window sang beautifully. Her senses felt numb accompanied by a feeling of tiredness as they was a need to rest.
