”President Li, it’s late. I’ll make a move now.” Her heart was beating too fast. Yao Ting’s legs were wobbly as she attempted to flee in a hurry.

Li Haoran grabbed her wrist and pinned her against the wall in an overbearing manner. He moved his face nearer to hers and said, “Tell me, do you really have no feelings for me at all?”

Li Haoran’s eyes were so otherworldly that they could draw a person’s attention. Yao Ting suddenly felt her mouth going dry and her tongue was parched too. She subconsciously gulped.

Li Haoran was really pleased with her reaction. He stroked his right thumb against her cheek and said, “You’re not completely unaffectionate toward me, so why are you so unwilling to accept my pursuit? You promised to give me a chance, but you’re always going back on your words and never keeping your promises. I don’t want to let you go. Who knows if you’ll disappear just like that. I don’t have the courage to place such a huge bet on you unless you let me have a taste of you first.”

Yao Ting blinked her eyes, looking slightly puzzled at Li Haoran.

“Promise that you’ll be my girlfriend and I’ll let you leave,” Li Haoran stated his conditions. He was a fox. Everything was under his control. It was imperative for him to get Yao Ting. He also had the intention to take her hand in marriage as his only wife in this life. He had spent two to three years’ time casting this net that was love. He would never let Yao Ting leave so easily.

Yao Ting blinked her eyes again. Her train of thought failed to keep pace.

“Be my girlfriend and I’ll shield you,” Li Haoran said, a trace of smile stained the corner of his lips.

“What do you know?” Yao Ting asked, staring at him with watchful eyes.

“I know everything as long as they have something to do with you. Yao Yiyi is actually the reason why you’re suddenly leaving this city, right? I heard that she and Young Master Ou have divorced,” Li Haoran said confidently.

Yao Ting’s expression changed dramatically. There were also traces of hostility in her eyes as she stared at Li Haoran. The trace of coyness on her face that was present at the beginning had vanished completely.

“What are you trying to do, President Li? If you dare lay a finger on Yiyi, I’ll fight you at all cost.”

Li Haoran could not help chuckling. He lifted his hands to play with her fringe across her forehead and said, “Don’t you think that you excessively care for Yao Yiyi? Is this why you don’t notice me more, Tingting? If I’d no idea that you’re a real woman, I may start thinking that you’re actually deeply in love with Yao Yiyi.”

Yao Ting was embarrassed now.

She flew into a rage and glared at him, explaining hastily, “What sort of nonsense are you talking about? My relationship with Yiyi is pure. It’s not as absurd as you say it is.”

Li Haoran burst out laughing. His mood became much better now.

“Do you know that you look especially adorable right now, Tingting? I really want to kiss those lips of yours.” Li Haoran praised profusely.

Yao Ting became even more vigilant.

Li Haoran was a cunning fox. Since he had brought up the subject of Yao Yiyi’s divorce, he certainly did not bring it up by coincidence. She was forced to be on her guard, readying herself to deal with just about any unforeseen circumstances.

“Don’t frown. You’re about to turn into a little grandma,” Li Haoran said gently while lifting his hands to massage her forehead.

“What are you really trying to do, President Li? How do you know about Yiyi’s divorce?” Yao Ting asked vigilantly, taking two steps back.

“I know everything about you.” Li Haoran did not keep it a secret either. “If I want to pursue a beautiful woman, it’s pardonable to occasionally pull out some underhanded tricks.”

“You followed me?”

“I didn’t follow, to be exact. I hired a private investigator to find out about your daily routine,and I coincidentally learned about Yao Yiyi’s divorce.”

Upon hearing those words, a blazing rage spread throughout her limbs and bones. Yao Ting suddenly felt like Li Haoran was a terrifying man. He was so aggressive at every step of the way and had such a strong desire to possess. She could not imagine herself being with someone like this and could not imagine how it would feel like to live under his watchful eyes every single day. She was not a prisoner. She could not stand getting monitored by someone every day.

“President Li, I think you’ve either gone insane or my hearing is impaired. I need time to cool down. It seems like I need to reconsider whether I want to continue working with your publishing company. No one likes a superior who loves monitoring the writers under his company.” Yao Ting waved her hands as her body retreated to the side of the door.

Li Haoran did not expect such a huge reaction from Yao Ting. He grabbed her hands hastily. Yao Ting attempted to shake his hands off, but she failed to do so. She screamed in shock, “Let go, you pervert.”

Li Haoran’s expression changed dramatically at once.

“I can explain, Tingting. It’s not what you think it is,” Li Haoran said, lowering his voice.

“It’s exactly what I think it is. You’re a pervert. Even Ou Qingheng isn’t as perverted as you. I shouldn’t have wasted my time considering whether I should accept you or not. Right now, however, I can tell you that I’ll never accept a pervert who hires someone to follow me,” Yao Ting said, glaring fiercely at Li Haoran.

Li Haoran was not angered. Instead, he pulled her into his arms and started saying honeyed words as soon as he opened his mouth. “Woman, you’re stubborn and tough to handle. Whenever I ask you to make a trip to the company, you always have a lot of excuses to make. When I go to your place, you pretend like you’re not home. I had no choice but to hire someone to take some pictures of you to ease my yearning for you. It is purely by accident that I learned about Yao Yiyi’s affairs. During that period of time, she occasionally went in and out of your housing estate. I was worried that the problems she faced were nothing you could solve and that you would be troubled, so I found someone to look into it. I was thinking that if you couldn’t solve them, then I’ll solve them for you in secret. I can’t believe that I’ve turned into a huge pervert in your eyes. I feel terrible when you say that.”

Yao Ting was stumped for words. She forgot that Li Haoran was still holding her in his embrace.

Li Haoran kissed her cheeks without a single lustful intention in his mind. He said tenderly, “Tingting, be my girlfriend, please? I’ve pursued you for three years now. Even cold and hard stones would warm up to me by now. It’s also time for you to accept me, right? If you accept me, I will shield you guys from the Ou family. Yao Ting started mulling it over.

Li Haoran let go of Yao Ting very compliantly. He was afraid that his overly domineering demeanor would frighten her away. Hence, he switched to a gradual approach by taking things slow. He spent three years casting this love net. It was only a matter of time before Yao Ting got used to his existence.

Li Haoran was considered a love expert. In the past, women had thrown themselves at him while he would just take pleasure in it. This was the first time he had pursued a woman for so long just to win this beauty’s heart.

Yao Ting raised her brows and said, “President Li, if you think that my conditions are too much, then take it as if I’ve never said anything. I’m leaving now.” She actually turned around and walked away.

Li Haoran grabbed her hand and said with a hint of helplessness, “What did I say now? Woman, you have a really stubborn temper. You have men at sixes and sevens for you.”

“If you think that I’m difficult to handle, then you can just stay further away from me.” Yao Ting pouted her lips.

Li Haoran laughed aloud.

“You’re still my woman even if you’re hard to handle. Be my girlfriend, hmm?”

Yao Ting fell silent. Many things were running through her head as well. Finally, she nodded.

A look of tremendous surprise flickered in Li Haoran’s eyes. He pulled her into his embrace straight away, unable to suppress his exhilaration. “Are you really accepting me, Tingting?”

“Forget it if you don’t believe it. I’m leaving.”

How could Li Haoran let go of her so easily? He forced Yao Ting against the wall and lowered his head to kiss the pair of lips that he had been yearning day and night for. Then, he pried open her pearly white teeth in an overbearing way. Both of them could hardly tear themselves away from the kiss.

Yao Ting never knew that a kiss could be so intense. She was kissed so hard that her so-called rationality had vanished into thin air.

As Yao Ting was a treasure that he had gotten with great difficulty, he did not want to treat his crush so irreverently.

Just as Yao Ting thought that she was about to run out of breath, Li Haoran let go of her and rested his forehead against hers. He said in a horse and sexy voice, “You’re my woman now, Tingting.”

Yao Ting figured that her face must be as red as an apple now. She looked so coy that she dared not look at Li Haoran. She merely answered, “I’m glad you know that.” Then, she pushed Li Haoran away and fled.

Seeing her behavior, Li Haoran could not help chuckling.

His woman was really adorable indeed.

Yao Ting took the elevator downstairs. The heat on her face did not dissipate even after she had left the building. She lifted her head up to gaze at the building as a sudden sense of amiability washed over her. Unexpectedly, she had just agreed to Li Haoran’s girlfriend.

Perhaps Yao Yiyi’s pain had made her think differently. Rather than avoiding, she thought that she should open her heart and attempt to accept Li Haoran. Just moments earlier, she could not bring herself to deny the fact that she had feelings for Li Haoran. Perhaps her feelings for Li Haoran had gone much deeper than she thought.

‘Li Haoran, I have taken a huge leap to be with you. I hope that you’ll be sincere in this relationship. Otherwise, I will never see you again for the rest of my life,’ Yao Yiyi stared at the building and thought in her heart.

Yao Ting was exhilarated after making the decision to accept Li Haoran. The smile hanging at the corners of her mouth could not be concealed even if she wanted to.
