There was no lust in his eyes, only a chilling coldness that cut Cindy to the bone.
It was as if he were performing an odious task out of the ordinary.
Recalling his firm tone as he hung up the phone, Cindy again raised her hand to push him away.
But Trevon was quick to react, grabbing her hands and pinning them above her head, his gaze coldly warning her, "Cindy, don't push it too far. I don't have the patience or time to deal with you!"
With that, he split her defense without mercy.
Cindy bit her lip tightly, refusing to make any sound despite the intense pain that nearly brought tears to her eyes. Her body was tense as never before.
Trevon's eyes flashed with a sinister gleam at the sight of her resistance. He then ruthlessly seized her by the waist, and without mercy restrained and forced himself upon her.
After one round, Cindy thought he would leave as usual. But to her surprise, tonight he was a different man. He pressed her face into the pillow and began another round of love-making.
In the middle of it, he leaned close to her ear and whispered hoarsely, "Cindy, if you dare to cause me trouble again, I won't mind kicking you out of Mrs. Gilson's position."
As time wore on, Cindy could bear it no longer and passed out.
That night, she had a restless sleep.
Cindy kept having the same nightmare, in which the kidnappers asked her why Trevon didn't care about her, and she replied that Trevon didn't love her, so naturally, Trevon wouldn't care about her.
Then the kidnappers pushed her off a cliff.
Cindy awoke from her dream and sat up suddenly.
Her pillow and sheets were soaked in sweat. She sat there blankly for a while before dragging her battered to the shower.
After breakfast, Cindy drove to the firm.
Just as she stepped out of the elevator, she suddenly heard a cheerful voice calling out, "Miss Louth, I've already tidied up your office."
Cindy's footsteps paused as she looked up to find the source of the sound.
She saw Annie, dressed in luxury, her long hair cascading over her shoulders, standing at a little distance in a graceful attitude.
Cindy had seen Annie's back countless times, thanks to Trevon's careful protection, but had never witnessed Annie's face up close.
Cindy was also curious to know just how stunning Annie, who captivated Trevon's attention despite the numerous suitors of Trevon, truly was.
Feeling Cindy's inquisitive gaze, Annie slowly turned around.
Their eyes met, and Cindy knew it all. No wonder Trevon despised her, because she and Annie were complete opposites.
They were utterly incomparable. One possessed an outgoing and vibrant personality, radiating warmth and energy like the sunshine; The other embodied a gentle, tender, nurturing nature, reminiscent of the soothing qualities of moonlight.
"Miss Louth, this is Mrs. Gilson," the colleague introduced enthusiastically. "This is Miss Louth."
Annie's eyes flickered with an inexplicable emotion, but she quickly smiled gently and said, "Mrs. Gilson, nice to meet you."
Cindy nodded indifferently, her expression calm. "It's still daytime, Miss Louth is here quite early."
Annie's face turned pale, sensing that Cindy was criticizing her as a mistress hidden in the shadows.
Annie felt resentment, but her face remained soft.
"Trevon drove me here early in the morning. So sorry," she said apologetically, with a hint of pride in her tone.
...
Trevon, calling him so intimately.
The female colleague immediately sensed the subtle tension between them and hastily intervened to smooth things over.
She smiled at Cindy and said, "Mrs. Gilson, from now on, Miss Louth will be the new director of the Marketing Department. She will be on equal footing with you in terms of position, but Mr. Gilson said that Miss Louth is only accountable to him."
