The next couple of days had been spent in the library studying books dated back in time, about vampires and they also spoke of the existence of other supernatural creatures.
In the short time she had spent with the books she had discovered a lot of things about the existence of these creatures, they had inhuman strength which explained how Alessandro had detached a man’s head from his neck.
Inhuman speed explained all the many times he had appeared suddenly. They survived on bodily fluids of animals and humans, that is blood. Enhanced vision, accelerated healing powers, strong hearing, ability to read minds were among the few powers they had.
However this was not what was important, she flipped through the pages. The library was always empty, dumb people they never read anything, she snorted. Apart from the pale blood sucking librarian who sat at the entrance. She didn’t bother much with a conversation anytime she came to the library.
She read through the pages and she found what she was looking for, “Ha!”, she said aloud and clamped her hand over her mouth.
When she read further she found that vampires did have weaknesses, they could die from decapitation which was impossible to do, they could be killed by sunlight, no wonder the windows were clamped shut always.
A wooden stake and a silver dagger could be fatal for a vampire. Well, well, well, Isabella smirked, what do we have here she thought to her self.
She had to pay the kitchen a visit after all. She had avoided the kitchen because she was not ready to talk to Marie, however she had sent her meals with extra pastry to try to apologise to her. Isabella was hurt she had kept something as important from her. Cecily had brought all her meals to the library or Alessandro’s chambers, of course they had to beg the librarian to allow her take the meals into the library.
She walked into the Kitchen, Marie looked at her when she noticed her presence, “Bella”.
“Aunt Marie”, she walked up to her and hugged her tightly.
“Oh my dear, I’ve missed having you around Bella", she squeezed her tightly, “I’m very sorry. I didn’t want to hurt you with the truth, you were already dealing with enough”.
“You’re the only good thing that has happened in my life since I got here”, Isabella said “And I’m not losing that”.
“I was just baking chocolate cakes, do you want any?”, Marie asked as she took out the cake.
“Of course I do, who can resist a good chocolate cake?. Especially one made by you Aunt Marie".
“Good, now I’ll just go get you a milk while the cake cools down”, Marie said and walked to the far end of the kitchen.
Isabella waited till she was occupied, then she quickly picked one of the knives lying around, it was made out of silver.
“ Aunt Marie, I’ll be back in a just a while...”.
“ But dear, you haven’t had your snack yet?”. Marie protested.
“Give me a minute Marie, I only need to use the bathroom". She dashed out of the kitchen before she could question her further.
