Candice n’avait plus aucun souvenir du passé. Elle ne savait pas sa propre date anniversaire, mais elle s’est renseignée sur celle de Noah auprès de la servante.

A ce moment-là, alors qu'Ambre était toujours à l’étranger, il était relativement gentil avec elle.

« C'est mon anniversaire, tu peux passer la tienne aussi aujourd’hui. Tiens, c'est pour toi. » Il lui a passé un écrin d’un air indifférent.

Ce n'était pas quelque chose de coûteux. Il s’agissait d’un cadeau offert par un bijoutier qu'il avait sponsorisé.

Ce soir-là, Candice était toujours contente.

C’était la première cadeau qu’elle a reçue de Noah.

Bien que ce ne soit qu'un bracelet pas si cher et délicat, elle y tenait comme la prunelle de ses yeux.

« Il faut faire le vœu dans l’anniversaire, quel est ton souhait ? »

Il lui a demandé en contemplant son visage qui ressemblait un peu à celui d’Ambre.

Elle présentait une forte ressemblance avec Ambre, mais elles étaient en fait complètement différentes.

Ambre, en tant que fille adorée de la famille Girard, était presque comme une déesse élégante et supérieure à tout dans son cœur.

Candice, quant à elle, de basse extraction, n’était qu’une femme simple et fragile qui souffrait de l’amnésie. Il pourrait profiter facilement de sa naïveté autant qu’il voulait.

« Noah, peux-tu m’aimer ? »

Elle a fait un tel vœu ce soir-là.

Elle souhaitait qu’il puisse tomber amoureux d’elle.

Noah s’est tu pendant un long moment, le fixant d'un regard indescriptible.

« Le souhait ne sera plus efficace quand tu le dis. »

« Monsieur Noah, ça fait un jour que l’on a cherché Mlle. Candice mais sans rien trouver. Elle serait déjà…Bon, abandonnez. »

Noah a passé toute la nuit pour s’asseoir sur le lit dans l'appartement de location.

Le front un peu brûlant, il ne savait lui-même pourquoi il restait assis pendant assez longemps dans un endroit aussi modeste.

La chambre était mal isolée et insonorisée. Il ne faisait pas encore assez chaude même si le climatiseur marchait.

Il pouvait écouter clairement que les locataires voisins étaient en train de se battre. Les injures et les coups sans fin lui ont tapé sur les nerfs.

Il ne comprenait vraiment comment cette petite idiote a pu y vivre depuis tant de jours.

Elle était si farouche, comme elle devrait être effrayée en entendant cela.

« Monsieur Noah, retournons ...... Mlle. Ambre a appelé pour dire qu'elle veut sortir de l'hôpital et vous a demandé de venir la chercher. »

Le silence régnait longuement dans la chambre. Les yeux bordés de rouge, il a levé la tête vers son assistant.

« Qui t'a autorisé d'abandonner ? Continuez à la chercher ! Morte ou vivante, il faut absolument que vous la retrouve ! »

Noah s'est mis en colère et a donné un violent coup de pied dans la table basse déjà fragile.

Ses émotions jaillissaient.

Même lui même ne savait pas pourquoi il avait un feu brûlant dans sa poitrine qu'il ne pouvait pas laisser sortir.

Hôpital de Ville de Mer :

Ambre n’a pas vu Noah jusqu’à ce qu’elle ait observé les procédures de sortie.

Elle a froncé les sourcils avec un certain mécontentement et a serré le téléphone portable dans sa main.

« Que fait Noah maintenant ? »

L’homme avait été toujours prévenant envers elle, mais il la traitait avec négligence aujourd’hui. Ça lui a fait mal à l’aise.

« Monsieur Noah ? J’ai entendu dire qu’il faisait à ses gens pêcher le cadavre de Candice. »

Les yeux légèrement sombres, Ambre n’a pu s’empêcher de la maudire du fond du cœur : « Cette salope ne l'aurait même pas laissée vivre en paix même si elle serait morte. »

« Oh ! Sors-tu de l’hôpital si rapidement ? N'étais-tu pas encore dans le coma hier ? C’est vraiment mal joué.»

Dr. Nathan est entré dans la salle pour effectuer les travails routiniers en tant que médecin. Dès qu’il a constaté c’était la chambre d’Ambre, il a reculé immédiatement d’un pas.

Lorsqu’elle a remarqué Nathan, Ambre a pris tout de suite un air inoffensif et pitoyable.

De toute façon, la famille Fournier était influente dans la ville de Mer.

« Je ne veux plus déranger Noah, donc... Keuf... » Ambre a toussé en parlant, ses yeux commençant à devenir humides.

« Arrête ton cinéma. Si Noah découvre un jour ton vrai visage, je veux bien savoir à qui tu continueras à faire semblant d’être innocente. »

Nathan a ricané. Évidemment, les jeux de la femme ne lui servaient à rien.

« Tu ! » Les poings serrés, Ambre s’est forcée pour retenir da colère.

« Comme tu es le pote de Noah, j’ai choisi de tolérer tous tes mots absurdes. Mais je ne t'ai jamais offensé ! Pourquoi es-tu si agressif envers moi ? »

A ces propos, Nathan a poursuivi en ricanant : « Alors, Candice ne t’a jamais offensée non plus, mais pourquoi es-tu toujours hostile envers elle ? »

« C’est drôle. Tu es aussi du côté de Candice, n’est-ce pas ? Je ne comprends vraiment pas pourquoi tu défends à ce point une idiote qui a perdu tout son mémoire. Qu'est-ce que tu gagnes en l’aidant ? » Grâce à la faveur de Noah, Ambre se fichait de Nathan et lui a répliqué d’un ton sarcastique.

« On court à sa propre perte en répétant ses méfaits. Alors, attention. »

Nathan n'a pas pris la peine de continuer la conversation avec Ambre, il lui a fait ensuite un signe de la main et s'est retourné pour partir.
