Andrew's Point of View
I smirked at the newfound information I had now. Clover Thompson the nerd wasn’t actually a nerd. She was a model and apparently the richest one around right now? Before any of this, I liked her personality, her sass, even her glasses. I couldn't help but wonder if she was even the Clover Thompson I knew? Or was she just some stuck up rich model? If it was the latter, we wouldn't fit well together. I didn’t fit into that celebrity look and I didn't care for the flashy people, and more importantly, I didn't do the whole male model look either. I guess only time would tell who Clover Thompson really was.
"Who are you?"
"Are you Lucky's boyfriend?"
"Are you and Lucky secretly dating?"
"What's your name?"
"Is Lucky pregnant?"
"Are you cheating on Lucky?"
Seriously, where were these questions coming from? Why would she be pregnant? I rolled my eyes and pushed past the people with cameras. I wasn’t sure how much she had to deal with this, but this was crazy. I don't know why people would want to be famous if you had to go through this all day. As I got in my car, a black Escalade pulled up in Clover’s driveway.
The paparazzi attacked him as he got out, but he acted like they were just ants on the ground and pushed through them. I stepped out of my car and looked at him curiously. He noticed me immediately as I stepped in front of him.
"Are you Lucky's old friend?" I questioned curiously.
"I prefer the word boyfriend." He smirked and I returned it.
"Really? She doesn’t seem to call it the same," I said with a slightly challenging tone. I wasn’t sure why jealousy was boiling in me because of the thought of her with someone. Heck, I barely even knew her, but maybe it was the fact that she was different. She saw me, but she didn’t see me and I almost loved that.
"It’s only because I just got back from a nice stay at my family home in the Bahamas," he said, not letting his arrogant smirk leaving his face. I honestly hoped I didn’t look nothing like this guy who reeked of arrogance.
“Fancy,” I commented. “Funny, I’m surprised she waited around so long for someone who left her for a nice beach.”
“Oh wait! She didn’t because I specifically remember her telling me all about the fact that you’re in the military.” I said tilting my head to the side slightly.
The paparazzi moved in closer, their questions getting louder. He grabbed my arm and pointed to the side of her house that had a gate. I looked back at the house to see she wasn’t looking and nodded. Something about this old friend was off and I was going to get rid of him really quick. We opened her gate and closed it behind us, standing on the side of her house. I found it slightly weird to be standing in her yard without her knowing it, but he didn’t seem to mind. I watched as he dramatically ran his hand through his hair before taking his sunglasses off.
“Is there a reason we’re having a conversation right now? I don’t know you, do I?” he asked, looking down at his phone. I took the time to press the call button for Clover on my phone before sliding it back in my pocket
“No, but we both know Clover. I just wanted to see this guy she’s clearly in love with,” I said, shrugging.
He paused and looked up at me before smirking. “I get it, you’re using her, too, right? Listen, just buy her a few nice things and she’ll be in love with you in a day. Just make sure you stay in your lane. I want to be front page of the magazines. The more money I get, the better.”
I felt my fists clenching. This wasn’t going how I thought it would. “You’re using her? I thought you loved her. You were away how long and came back for her? I don’t understand.”
He shook his head. “No, you see, she thought I was away in the military. You know, I give the nice strong man vibe to her and she falls even more in love with me while I’m away. Now, I’m back and I get nice presents and some fun extras.” He dangled a set of keys. “Girlfriend number two provides the home-cooked meals and the massages.”
I felt a glare form on my face. “For one, that’s disrespectful to even lie about fighting for your country. Two, using a girl for money? Definitely a new low. Grow a pair and work for some. Lastly, you’re a douche.” I said, slamming my fist into his face.

Clover’s Point of View
I stared at my phone as the phone call ended. I should’ve started crying. I should be shaking in anger, but I couldn’t feel anything. My heart was pounding, yet I stood here with a blank face. My mind went over everything I’d just heard a thousand times. He’d never joined the military; he was at his beach house all this time. He had a girlfriend already. He was trying to use me for money.
Andrew had punched him.
I looked at the outfit I was wearing and smirked slightly. I tucked my crimped hair behind my ear and took in my appearance that consisted of black knee-length boots, a maroon jean skirt that had buttons that went all the way up and a striped shirt. I didn’t think I looked too bad, considering what I was about to do.
I walked downstairs and opened the front door to see the paparazzi focusing on the two males fighting now in the front yard. I rushed over, yelling both of their names.
I pulled on Andrew's arm. “Get off of him!” I said, shaking him. I looked at all the paparazzi. One of you, help me!” I snapped, trying to pull on Andrew.
A man rushed over and helped pull Andrew off, but he only angrily shrugged him off as he got off of Damien. I grabbed his face and glared at him. “What on earth were you thinking?” I hissed, my eyes skimming his injuries.
“Are you okay?” I asked, wiping the blood off his lip.
He stared at me for a good minute, not saying anything before nodding to himself. “Yup, it was worth it.” He smirked, and I rolled my eyes.
“Andrew Carter, I swear,” I said, not being able to stop the smile on my lips. I glanced over at Damien, who was just now standing up, spitting the blood out of his own mouth.
“Angel, what the hell?” he snapped, looking at my hands that were still on Andrew’s face.
I grinned before looking back at Andrew, silently contemplating if this was what I wanted to do. “Smile, pretty boy. You’re about to be on camera again,” I whispered and Andrew quirked an eyebrow.
I moved my face forward and connected my lips with his. He didn’t even take a second before he responded, moving his hands to my back then sliding up and tangling in my hair. His lips moved in sync with mine and as cheesy as it sounds, I felt an unexpected tingle that wouldn’t go even after I pulled away.
I removed my hands and turned to Damien. “Sorry, what? Did you want to say something to me or your girlfriend number two?” I asked, tilting my head to the side. I grabbed the Escalade keys that sat on the ground and dangled them in the air as I looked at them.
“Huh, what a pretty car. Too bad I’m selling it and taking every dime for it,” I said, smiling sickly sweet.
His hooded eyes looked at me with what I’m guessing was supposed to be a glare. “You can’t do that. I paid for half of that car.”
I pursed my lips, nodding. “Wow, I guess you did,” I said in agreement. “I hope you have receipts because it’s in my name.”
I walked over to the car and hopped in. “Thanks for stopping by. I hope you had a great time, Damien. PS - whatever we had is so over.” I flipped my hair over my shoulder as I put the key in the ignition. I sent him one last wink before I put a pair of sunglasses on my face that were sitting in the passenger seat.
"Lucky, over here!"
"Did you just break up with Damien?"
"Are you going bad?"
"Are you going to rob a bank?"
"Who is this guy to you? How do you know him?”
“Lucky wait!”
I pulled out of my driveway, ignoring the hundreds of questions and flashing of cameras. I should be angry at everything that just happened. It was going to be on every media outlet, but that’s okay. There was no time for tears at this point. He was gone for years, and now I’m fine if he's gone forever. I couldn’t help but feel a slight guilt for using Andrew. I should’ve asked in the first place if that was all okay. He’s about to get questioned like crazy, and rumors are bound to start now. I tightened my grip on the steering wheel and smirked. I felt good right now and nothing was going to take away this feeling now.
