Alissa got back to her apartment and went to Sarah’s house first. She knock on the door while panting for air. She still feels dejected after what she ha shone through earlier but the tiny footsteps heading towards her made her smile for she knew who it was.
A door bust open and a deafening scream from a tiny body made her stagger back when Hope jump on her. Alissa got a good grip on her and they both laughed.
“Momma! You back!”
“I am, baby. I miss you so much.”
“Me too, momma. Miss you a lot.” She let’s go and held Alissa’s hand as Hope pulls her inside.
“You got pwesent fow me momma?” Hope’s ask with her eyes still lingers on the hallway which heads to the living room.
“A present? You wanted something, baby? I didnt know that.” Alissa act surprised when Hope’s gift is already prepared right in her handbag.
They entered the living room with sounds from the kitchen of Sarah’s mother cooking dinner. Both sat on the couch with Hope looking disappointed.
“I thought I wemembered. I’m showy, momma. I let you know if you go again.”
Alissa chuckled. Just like that, all her anger and frustration was gone. Alissa was about to reply when Lorena enters the living room with a surprised look on her face.
“Hoppy, darling! I told you I would get the door, didn’t I? Did you even peek at the hole to see who came? What if it wasn’t your momma?”
Hope pouted. She turns to Alissa and looked down when Alissa frowned at her.
“Did you, baby?”
“No…”Both Alissa and Lorena sigh and chuckled when they see how upset Hope has become.
“Let’s put all that aside. When did you arrive, Lisa? Thank God I was just finish cutting the vegetables. I suppose I’ll be making extra meals this evening?”
“Oh, no. There’s no need for that. I just came like five minutes ago. I am fine. You don’t have to..”
“Nonsense, my dear. You must be exhausted. I love cooking myself so making extra won’t be a problem at all. Speaking of exhausted, where are your luggage?”“My lug..?” Alissa frowned at her questions and she was about to point it next to her when she too realised she had entered the house al alone with nothing but herself. Not even her handbag.
She moaned with her eyes closed and her head leans back. She was so annoyed and angry but there was nothing she can do.
“I forgot it in his car ughhh..” She wanted to cry because knowing he has all her things made it impossible for her to avoid him or just stay far away from him.
“Momma left what in caw?” Alissa looks down at Hope sitting on the carpeted floor. She gave a weak smile and bruhs he rhair. “Just my bag, sweetheart. Momma left it in Da…”
