LOGINStanding in front of this strange and somewhat magical looking shop, his attention was immediately caught by the sign placed above the door of this establishment. Although the only language he knew was Japanese, in which he wasn't the best, he could still somehow read the strange letters written on the wooden plank.
They looked like hieroglyphs, letters he never saw before that made words he shouldn't be able to understand, but somehow he was. Despite never seeing these letters in his entire life, he could tell they formed the words "Evelyn's magic shop" and that in at by itself piqued his curiosity.
"How can I read these letters?"
Multiple reasons went throughout his mind but the most logical was due to being sent into this world, in order to communicate with its inhabitance he was given some sort of an ability that let him understand their alphabet and possibly even language.
"Then does that mean I can communicate with them too?"
"If that was the case it would make things a lot easier."
Since the place itself didn't look all that scary but in fact, pretty relaxing and brimming with a sotting aura, he decided to walk in and try his luck. He hoped the owner was someone understandable and kind that could coupe with his situation and help him out, and not an old grumpy goblin who might just have him for lunch.
"Here goes nothing…"
He put his hand on the wooden door handle which was decorated with many strange line paters and created a beautiful design unlike which he never saw before. There were so many details on it he thought that whoever designed it went slightly overboard, but the detail on the craftsmanship didn't stop just there. After looking more closely at the door itself, although it looked like it was made from plain old wood and not much carving was there, was actually the same as the door handle, it had wonderful patterns all around it that showed just how talented the craftsman who made it was.
After opening the door he was greeted by what would appear to be a normal-looking old house, part of which was covered in a dark shadow since there was no electricity or a source of light, while the other part was illuminated from the light from the outside that escaped throughout the window.
The floor, as well as the walls, were made out of pure wood, no cement, bricks, metal, or anything of the sort, the entire place was constructed with only wooden logs and planks. It was strange seeing this sort of an oldfashioned type of house since nowadays most of the buildings are made from iron and cement, and not wood.
The build of the house wasn't the only thing that couth his eyes, the weird items, and weapons which surrounded him did too. There were many types of weapons ranging from swords all the way to what appeared to be magic staffs, shields, and even weapons unlike he ever saw before.
"What is all of this?"
There were also bookshelves filled with magical looking books that had, not words, nor numbers ingrained on them but crests or some sort of an emblem. He was fascinated by all of it, he could only imagine what this world must be like after seeing all of this.
"This is so…"
Before he could finish his sentence he was interrupted by a feminine but mature and somewhat attractive voice that seemed as if it was coming from behind a purple cloth that separated the store from that would seem to be the storage area, located behind the counter.
"Is it to your liking, young man?"
The voice was followed by a face long after, and the woman who appeared was a gorgeous dark-skinned woman, whose long black hair covered the left side of her face and wore a beautiful dark dress that left a lot of her skin showing, especially her humongous chest which looked like it could pop out at any moment.
In her right hand, she held what appeared to be a long smoking pipe, like those one could see in old movies or plays, while her other hand was holding a weird-looking object that at best could resemble a pocket watch.
This was the first time Shin was exposed to the charm and beauty of an older woman, and he was completely taken in by it. Because women didn't really take care of themselves after getting married or hitting a certain age back from where he was, he never knew they could be so…
"Gorgeous…"
To him, Hana was the peek of beauty a woman could reach, but compared to the lady standing in front of him she was nothing. A difference like night and day, that was how he felt while comparing the two of them.
"My, aren't you a charmer!"
Only now realizing he said those words out loud, Yuki found himself with a blushed and embarrassed expression on his face.
"I-I'm sorry, It just kinda slipped out!"
"Fufufu!"
"No need for apologies, I'm actually quite happy. It's been ages since someone called an old hag like me gorgeous!"
"Old hag? What do you mean, I wouldn't give you past your thirties!"
The women's face turned slightly red after hearing the boy's words. She couldn't remember the last time a man, and especially a human complimented her like this, and it felt somewhat nice so she let out a small chuckle as she responded.
"Fufufu, You really are a strange one, aren't you!"
"Hahaha…"
Although it passed some time it only now occurred to him that he was engaged in a conversation with someone of this world. He could understand her words and what she was saying as well as the opposite.
"Wait!!!"
"So you can understand me?"
The woman was unsure how to answer the boy's question, and she was somewhat concerned about the weird behavior he showed ever since he entered her store.
"Why don't we start with interacting our selves first, alright?"
She wasn't sure what was going on here, or better said what was going on with him, so she thought an introduction might be able to lighten things up.
"My name is Evelyn Richa, I'm the owner of this magic store, and as you didn't notice I'm a dark elf!"
Because they were covered by her hair, Shin previously didn't notice the long ears she had that showed that she was a member of the elven tribe, or to be specific a dark elf.
"A dark elf…"
"Well, my name is Shin Misuzawa and I'm a human…"
By his facial expression and way of acting, Evelyn could tell that Shin was no ordinary human or at least one who didn't know the history between their two races, and that made him even more interesting.
"Alright, Shin Misuzawa, just who are you?"
"..."
"What do you mean, I'm but a simple villager, isn't it obvious?"
Shin wasn't sure how he should answer, so he told a lie. He simply couldn't say he came from another world since he didn't know how she would react.
"Here's a piece of advice boy, don't lie to dark elf's, since it won't end up good for you!"
Evely looked as if she could see straight through him, like she knew he was hiding something.
"I can already tell that your no normal human, and definitely not from around here, so there is no point in lying."
"just tell me the thought, won't you?"
"..."
"You don't want to?"
"It's not that I don't, but I'm not sure if you're going to belive me even if I tell you."
"Try me!"
Shin was sure Ren or someone else would reveal the fact they came from another world no matter what, so saying it himself shouldn't be such a problem, especially since the person he would tell it to didn't look all that dangerous and could possibly shed some light on his questions.
"Well, how do I say it, but I'm not originally from this world…"
"Heh, good one!"
"Now seriously, tell me the thought!"
Evely's took the words he said as a joke and didn't even give them a moment of consideration, and the reason behind it was due to such a thing as a human coming from another world was simply impossible.
Shin didn't know how to respond to her words, he told her the thought but she didn't believe him.
"...But that was the through!"
Although she humored and took the joke as funny, him pushing and insisting that it was the thought was not funny in the least and made her somewhat angry.
"Are you making fun of me, boy? You should know that making fun of dark elves for your race means certain death!"
Evelyn's face, as well as her tone of voice, turned serious as she said those words.
"I'm not making fun of you, and I can prove it!"
"And how exactly?"
Shin wasn't sure if it would work or not but he had no other choice, he wasn't sure how advanced the technology of this world was but from the look of this shop, he was at least sure it isn't as advanced as that of their world, so he put his hand in his pocket and reached for a certain object located inside of it.
"Here, have you ever seen anything like this?"
The object he pulled out off his pocket was his smartphone, a thin black object that to Evelyn didn't look like anything else but a piece of metal and some glass on it.
"A piece of black metal and glass?"
"Heh, as I thought you have no idea what a smartphone is!"
"A smart what?"
This confirmed that the technology of this world or at least the elves weren't advanced but that also confirmed another thing, and that was the worth of his phone.
"Its a commonly used object from my world, and one I can see you never saw before."
"It may be true that I never saw anything like it, but a black box with metal on top doesn't seem like anything special."
"It may aper so at first glance, but there is a lot to this thing."
"Would you allow me to show you?"
Since her way of acting suddenly took a scary turn for the worse, Shin was too afraid of doing any sudden movement that could anger and alarm her, and turning on his phone would be one of those.
"Alright, show me what this black little box can do!"
He put the phone on the counter on which Evelyn leaning upon so sexily, and turned it on. The light that it produced was enough to put her in a state of soundness, she never saw a box that could create light out of nowhere like this.
"W-what is this? There is no candle or fire, so how is there light coming from it, is it a magical item of sorts?"
"I don't know what those magic items you speak of are. This is what we call technology, and there is much more to it than simply creating light."
"M-more?!!"
"Their main purpose is to establish communication between two users, such as calling sone one or sending them a message!"
"Wait, you mean to tell me that you can call someone from that black boy and communicate with them?"
"Only people who are in the possession of one."
"If that is true then…"
"It is, although it's impossible for me to prove since there is no one I can call."
"But, as I said, that is only their main purpose! There is a lot more to them such as this."
He opened up an app on his phone and after a few silent minutes, a calm and relaxing melody filled the room as the phone started playing one of his favorite songs.
"Is that music, and it's coming from…"
"Yap, and not just that, it can also take photos."
He opened up the camera and pointed it towards the beautiful dark elf in front of him. Shin couldn't help but blush while he stared into her throughout the camera before taking the photo and showing it to her.
"I-It's me!!?"
"Aha, so do you believe me now?"
Evelyn's was too focused on the small, black, magical box that could do so many things all at once that she almost forgot that the boy in front of her apparently came from another world, but since there was no such technology in this world the fact that he might be telling the truth was big.
"I've never heard of any sort of skill or magic that could summon a being from another world, so believing you is kind of difficult, but it would explain a lot at the same time."
"Then…"
"I guess I do, but how did you come here then?"
"To tell you the truth I'm not sure my self!"
"The last thing I remember was being involved by a bring light while my body disintegrated and next thing I know I woke up on the plains in front of the forest."
The more questions Evelyn asked the more confused she got, so she simply stopped before her head exploded trying to figure out how that was even possible.
"Alright, enough with the questioning! My head feels like it's going to explode."
Seeing how Evelyn finally believed his story made it a sign that it was now his turn, he wanted to learn as much as possible about this world and this sounded like a perfect opportunity.
"So, since I'm not from around here could you tell me about this world?"
"Fufufu, cheeky little boy aren't you!"
"I could do that, but that would be valuable information to you so why should I do it for free?"
By her sudden change of tone and that greedy look in her eyes after hearing his question, Shin could tell that the woman in front of him was someone with a lot of bargaining experience who knew the value of information, and especially for him. He had a feeling she wouldn't give it for free and especially after showing off his smartphone, so it was expected that she wanted it in exchange for information.
"Fine, you can have it if you answer all my questions…"
"Now that's the response I wanted to hear!"
"So, first and foremost tell me what cup size are you?"
He simply couldn't resist. Being in the presence of such a beautiful woman while her boobs were in front of him, tempting him to watch them, but unfortunately for him, Evelyn didn't know what "Cup size" meant.
"Cup what? I'm sorry I'm not familiar with the term."
"Forger it, damn teenage hormones!"
"Now, for starters, I would like to know what you call this world, it's inhabitance, currency, and since you mentioned it before, everything about those magical items as well as skills and magic."
"Those are all fairly simple questions so answering them won't be hard, but it would be easier to show you, so would you fallow me to my study?"
Hearing her say study made a lot of gears inside his head turn, to his study was eventually equivalent to a room, which meant she was inviting him to her room and that was small thing.
"Well if you insist!"
Shin followed after her foot by foot as they went behind the curtain and into her study, Evelyn was a merchant for magical items and weapons so possessed a lot of unique and rare stuff in the shop and especially in her study since it was there where she kept some of the rarest things she had.
It was a lot different from what Shin imagined it to be, it had a fireplace that was currently out and very pretty red furniture which made the body feel like it was sitting on clouds themselves.
After walking in Evelyn threw him on the sofa and told him to relax while she brought everything over.
"Just wait there until I prepare everything."
To say that he was nervous was an understatement, the mood was way too good even though it had nothing to do wit that sort of a situation, so he simply calmed down with thinking of clouds and rainbow to stop any kinds of a rection that might occur from his thoughts going in a wrong direction.
"Sorry to keep you waiting!"
Evelyn said as she walked in with what would aper to be multiple pieces of paper in her hands.
"Now then, shall we start?"
