2023-12-01 16:22:45She was thankful that he picked up the call, her heart skipped a beat thinking he wouldn't pick the call.
"Hello" she heard his deep voice.
"Hi...hi...hi...hi!" She muttered hi with a low voice several times, she was nervous. She said it a few more times in case he didn't hear her.
She heard a soft laughter from the phone, this instantly made her less nervous.
"I can hear you, who is this?" He asked.
"Its Isoken" she said, the phone went silent, but she didn't hear the beep.
"Oh" he says, then she hear rustles. He said oh is that a bad thing? She asked herself.
"Isoken" he said her name softly. She almost lost hold of the phone, as she got goose bumps and tingles.
"Yes" she answered.
"I gave you my number almost 3 weeks ago, you didn't give me yours so i couldn't call you. I thought you were never going to call me" he said almost like he blamed her.
She felt a little guilty, he asked for her number but she told him to give her his and promised she would call. Its normal for him to expect her to call him ASAP so as to have her number.
"I'm sorry, i have no excuse" she said softly.
"Its okay. How have you been?" He asked her.
"I've been good. Are you outside?" She asked him because there was alot of background noise.
"Yeah am just taking a breath of fresh air, the winds blowing alot today and rain is threatening to fall, but i don't think its going to fall" he said.
She found herself laughing because what he said made a funny memory come to mind "why are you laughing?" He asked.
She immediately stopped laughing "Nothing" she replied.
"So nothing can make you laugh now, hmmm Okay, i hope everything is all right?" He asked, right after his statement.
She bursted into fits of laughter, louder than the previous one. In the midst of laughing, she heard him chuckle.
Tears had flown out of her eyes cause of laughing "See now you have made me to cry."
He replied with "Nobody told you to laugh and cry, just pick one" and they bursted into laughter again.
They talked some more, even about their JAMB that would be held this term. He offered to study with her, brush a few subjects they shared and she agreed, she would be stupid not to accept the extra help.
He told her, he would come to school early tomorrow and they bid bye and said their goodnight.
She was smiling after the call ended and looked at the phone to see they had talked for an hour and half, it was already dark when she looked out the window.
She went to plug the phone and layed on the bed to sleep.
Best night ever, can't wait for tomorrow, she thought.
Then she found herself in Dreamland.
