Steven didn't come home last night. I called Ari to tell her what was going on. I needed some female guidance right now. I got the group together early this morning so we could discuss this. 2 of them were single and the other 2 were happily married but the last one was doing her own thing.
I never heard anything from them about their spouses cheating. Ari, Lanae, Danni, Emily, Tia, & I we're seated on my back porch at the Girl's Talk Table. This is where we would have brunch and mimosas all while talking about everything happening in our lives or whatever came to mind.
"So tell us what's wrong?" Lanae said.
"Yea, girl. Tell us what's up." said Tia.
"Well, it's about Steven and this is serious before y'all get to making jokes." I said
Danni said, "Okay, spill it."
"I think he's cheating on me y'all."
Everything went silent and all us immediately scooted closer to Ari & Emily. They were known to be violent.
"Now I know y'all are angry. We're all angry but please don't do anything stupid."
"I'm not. You said you think. I won't do anything stupid until you know for a fact."
"If she feels it doesn't that mean it's true? A woman's intuition is never wrong." said Danni.
"No. We are wrong sometimes Danni. We assume and see what we want to see. Sometimes we're truly wrong and it's because we're being blinded by emotions or what other people say or whatever else it may be." said Ari.
"You sound very wise right now, Ari. That's scary."
We released Ari but still held on to Emily. She was as quiet as mouse. Something was up.
"Emily why are you so quiet?" I asked.
"Yea. Tell us what's on your mind." said Tia.
"Well since y'all asked.." she paused and we waited only for her to say, "ima kill him. Why don't you leave? You want me to go to jail that badly, huh?"
"No! Never. I just.."
"We know!" they all said in unison.
"I must say it too much. But I just can't let all of that go. He was my sweetheart and I was his. He was there for me in a time of darkness when no one was around. Not even you guys." I said. I withdrew my hand from Emily and so did everyone else. All eyes were on me. I knew what that meant. They wanted to know what I meant by my previous statement.
"What the fuck do you mean? Where were we then?" said Emily.
"I don't know but y'all definitely weren't here. Everyone was busy with themselves at that time. I called y'all but every last single one of you were busy. I thought it was crazy but I tried to handle it by myself. That didn't help tho. It just made things worser. That's enough about that." I wiped my tears away.
I gained some hands on my leg and some on my back and another one on my shoulder.
"We never knew. If you would have pushed, you know we would have been here in the blink of an eye."
"I know & it's ok cause I'm all better now. But that was just the tip of the iceberg. The problem in this marriage is that I can't have kids."
"Not true. You have a period so you can have kids sis."
"Well I ain't had a child yet."
"It's because you don't need it. It'll happen when it needs to be done. Kids come unexpectedly not planned. So when you're least expecting it, expect a child." Lanae said
"Well thanks for that." I said.
"She's right. I didn't expect to have Layla. I thought I could never get pregnant or get caught slipping but I was wrong." said Tia.
"Lanae is absolutely right. Why would you even want a kid by him anyway? You see the way he's acting? Those are his true colors. He finally showed them to you. See them for what they are and believe it girl. Get a divorce." said Emily.
"Wow. The two with the least sense are on a roll today." Said Danni
We all laughed. I rubbed a couple tears from my face. Wow I'm emotional today.
"Moreover, there are plenty of other options to get a kid. Surrogates, adoption, fostering.. all that stuff." said Tia.
"Yea I know but he doesn't want that. He wants the child to have his DNA."
"It's a man thing. It's territorial honey. That's with most men."
"Well I'm not a fan of it. It's caused problems in my marriage. We had an argument last night and he hasn't been home yet." I said.
"Well damn. This is probably where he is." Tia showed us a picture of Steven and some woman entering the Chrystalle hotel.
"Damn girl." said Danni.
It got all silent ..
"Well that does it. I'll kill him."
"I told you. Women's intuition is never wrong." said Danni.
"You don't gotta rub it in."
"Sit down. Y'all ain't gone do nothing to him. Im going to handle it. I'm going to give them a taste of their own medicine. Let's go to the hotel. I wanna catch him in the act."
We got up and left for the Chrystalle hotel in Danni's truck. She had a SUV big enough for all 6 of us. I was in the front passenger seat. I was praying they were still at the hotel. Maybe even still sleeping. I'm going to catch that hoe & Steven. Divorce is going to be so sweet. He vowed for better or for worse but he folded. Fuck the media right now. I was about to tear that hotel down if they were still there.
