Chapter 1: A Never before ‘Breakthrough‘:

Paramount P has been taking the credit for every new invention and breakthrough since the beginning of the 23^rdcentury. The Capital megalopolis has never shown much enthusiasm or interest towards the constantly on-coming credits. It needed not as such, since the half of the brain of the universe was literally habituated in Paramount P City. Of course, Paramount P began to blossom as the center of activity of the whole universe during the end of the 22^nd century. The HOC (House of Civics) and the chief tribunal house by name Esplanade House, was re-instated where once was popularly called as New Washington D C. (New Washington D C was again reformed and renamed after Washington D C (Earlier in America) of 21^stcentury). After the Great apocalyptic event of the early 22^ndcentury,which washed away ninetypercentage of the whole population of world, the planet earth began to reform into a very systematic and much advanced habitation of the Universe and re-termed the word ‘Earth’to ‘GORBS’ (Global Origin of Revived Brave Society).

Slowly, during the end of the 22^ndcentury, all the continents of the world (cities/states) were re-merged into five major regional megalopolis. Boreal,Astral, Oriental, Occidental, and Squander. Each megalopolis had in turn five cities.The great city Paramount P in Boreal became the capital region of the planet Gorbs. The earlier three venerable Gaffers’ (The first Digizen of the Universe – The designation quite similar to ‘President of America’ in the 21^stcentury) received the credits and attention without much Interest. Of course, the Gaffers had the maximum Measure of Perfection (MoP) and, this very fact helped them to treat all this kind of success and famed victory without any human emotive.

The present Gaffer, Esq. Jean Mayden (The fourth Gaffer of Paramount P) was well aware of these facts. Esq. Mayden has been greatly admired for his wonderful record of achieving the (never-before!) maximum Measure of Perfection. He had scored a total of 92 percentages in the pre- referendum and later post- referendum bout. The maximum earlier Measure of Perfection was 82 percentages. After scoring a legendary 92 percentage in the Measure of Perfection meter, Esq. Mayden became the fourth ever Gaffer of Gorbs. His tenure of time would last for another year long, total being 10 years, after which, he has to take the Measure of Perfection test again. Anything below 92 percentages would, of course, put him down. But then, that was certainly not the plan of Esq. Mayden. He didn’t score the record Measure of Perfection just like that; rather he has earned it through his hard self-trained mind. He has spent eight years of his life in a secluded place to train himself to be any human emotive left in his core. As per the popular dictum mentioned in Version 3 of Digital Dictum Diary(D3) and Popular Dictums Section A – Only weakened mind falls and feels IT– (Here IT refers to the Vetoed words‘Love’– Section 4 - Mind the Veto words), Esq. Mayden has never allowed his mind to get weakened, rather he managed to literally eject out all the emotional elements from his brain. 

It would be highly logical to recall an incident (before his Gaffer ship) in Esq. Mayden personal life. On the eventful day of 25/5/ 2239, Esq. Mayden was travelling with his younger brother Jayden in the Tubero (The speedy train) to attend a private campaign for his upcoming Gaffer ship test. While boarding down Jayden’s I2P2 (Integrated Individual Palm Phone) accidentally hooked to the highly conductive side electric panel of Tubero’s door – before anybody could react, Jayden was electrified and turned into ashes in front of Esq. Mayden. Later, the DNC (Digital News Cast) released the Video footage of Mayden’s immediate reaction of his brother turning into ashes. Esq. Mayden didn’t even flinch or made any wooing monosyllable sound, rather he calmly turned sideways towards the nearby Plod and uttered his order in his evercalm tone“Please clean up the Jayden’s mess, I don‘t want to delay the Tubero.”

There were also many speculations about the family of Esq. Mayden, although he has married Anne Adams and had two small daughters and anelder son. It was a well known fact among the common populace that Esq. Mayden has never had sex with his wife. He has obediently followed the DD 5Version 2 (The Latest) - Prohibitions and Proscriptionof the D3 - (Sex is an animal act. Humans, being much advanced than animals, are strictly forbidden to follow the act of sex to reproduce. The intending humans are to visit their nearest Genealogy Development Division for the reproduction of their offspring). Esq. Mayden and his wife Anne Adams visited the Paramount P GDD and clinically given their sperms and ovens and chartered for two daughters and one Son. Although the act of sex was not completely eradicated in the planet Gorbs, majority of the populace followed it as their Measure of Perfection was above simply above 55. The minority of people (who scored less than 55 percentages in Measure of Perfection) still continued to have the act of sex here and there. Those who were caught in the act were apprehended by Plods and sent to the Squander city for further treatment or retribution as applicable. (Read DD 4 - Version 1: Measure of Perfection)

After many years of Marriage, Esq. Mayden has secluded himself in an unknown place to fight away the inner emotion that he started to feel for his family. He has spent eight years mysteriously and returned back. Later, his Measure of Perfection started to rise drastically. Eventually, he realized that he has enough Measure of Perfection (Over 75 percentage) to apply for the venerable post of Gaffership. However, during the tenure of 2230 –Esq. Mayden was outwitted by Esq. Jagson (The man who has seen three consecutive tenures already), who scored 82 percentage against the 80 percentage of Mayden. It is gossiped that Esq. Mayden spentten mysterious years again at his secluded place - to come back completely Jubilant. The history changed in 2240, as Esq. Maydenunbelievably scored a 92 percentage in Measure of Perfection test and secured the venerable Gaffership for the first time breaking the earlier pattern of continual tenureships. He was greeted with greater respect and admiration by common populace. Now, after having successfully earned the golden key to DDecorum, Esq. Maydenbegan to scribble new dictums. The first thing he did was to change the terminology of ‘Brave’ into ‘Brainset’(Read Popular Dictums – Section G) in the word GORBS (Global Origin of RevivedBrainsetSociety).

DDecorum (Decca Decorum), the official office and residence of Venerable Gaffer, is located in the Northeast of Paramount P. It is a ten-sided posh sanctum. The whole surrounding area was secured by Nanoscopiccircum navigating nano-cameras which are also programmed to analyze the change in shape, structure, color, etc. The panoramic cameras would alert the integrated system, and in turn the Garrisons, if thereby any change occur. Hence, it is literally impossible to outwit the security of DDecorum.

The DDecorum’s sixth unit is exclusively for Esq. Gaffer’s personal habituate. The first Digizen of the Universe lived with his highly esteemed personnel in the sixth unit where every inch was secured with high-tech nano-cosmic sensors. The sixth unit of DDecorum was a vast area nearly accounting to twenty five thousands of square feet. It included porch six bedrooms, four kitchens and three leaving rooms, two studies, and a highly secured room for personalized visitors. The sixth unit overlooked the elegant sea of Nomarch and it’s far seeing bay. The Fourth unit was the official office of Esq. Gaffer which operated with personnel of one hundred. The high and enigmatic decisions were taken on either this place or on Regimen. Although, the five Junta’s (head of fiverespective megalopolis) official office ‘Regimen’, is one more high place where discussions were held before the final digital verdict is scribed.

The residence of Esq. Mayden, surprisingly, included only him and his self. One no knew about the whereabouts of Esq. Mayden’s family. It is speculated that venerable Mayden has no connection with them whatsoever for the reasons unknown. Earlier, few DNC dared to telecast few old Photographs and footages of him with his family, later once the post-referendum; that is after acquiring the mega 92 percentage in Measure of Perfection meter, no one in Newscast dared to bring up the subject. It is confidentially known fact that, Esq. Mayden doesn’t wishes to talk about his earlier family. Hence, after the Gaffer ship, Esq. Mayden acquired the DDecorum‘s sixth unit all by himself, of course, along with his chosenprivate personnel. 

Today, precisely at the early aurora, Esq. Mayden as usual, entered the forth unit of the DDecorum clad in the exemplary gray gearwear. Gearwearsare the fine laser proof fabric which is the luxury of Venerable Gaffer and five Juntas only. He looked impassive as he occupied his desk and leaned back for a clear overview of his entire office. He knew no-body would disturb him until for first half-an hour as that strictly belonged to him. The first quarter was meant to contemplate his life-journey and the second quarter was to plan his day ahead. 

Esq. Mayden, today, as usual recalled all the key moments of his past life without involving or evoking any sort of emotions whatsoever. After that, he felt well-nourished and expected a good long day ahead. Surprisingly, Esq. Mayden didn’t even felt any pride for mastering the mind which had the ability to be oblivion to any kind of human emotions. He was a venerable Gaffer and he would do his duty as he needed to, there was no room to feel happiness or sadness about it. As Mentioned in the‘Digital Life Book of Venerables’ – Part4 –‘Esq. Maydenis the playwright of the 23^rd century utopian society, nothing more, nothing less’. 

As per the general opinion, earlier Gaffer’s were quite tolerant on the human emotions (Read Popular Dictums – Section H)and hence there were numerous cases of emotional turmoil causing the undesired maladies like Secta. Chaosary, Secta. Panicary, Secta. Agitary, Secta. Tensionary and Secta. Lustarywhich would eventually give way to non-visionary tumoric cells (which, in fact, was very close to ‘Love’ of what people called in 21^stcentury). However, just as Esq. Mayden took the TOT (Troth of Truth), things began to change drastically. After nine years of tenure ship, miraculously the maladies were under curb and people began to prosper. There were very handful cases of delinquency. Esq. Mayden proposed and orchestrated many events and campaigns which educated people about the merits of getting qualifying Measure of Perfection score. Those who scored above 55 percentages were entitled to allthe conveniences which would make their life easy and comfortable. Hence the whole populace of Gorbs began to indulge themselves with the Measure of Perfection test. Surprisingly, the maximum percentage of populace scored 55 and above.

Earlier, years before the Esq. Mayden’sGaffership, it was a well known fact that Jayden, the younger brother of Esq. Mayden, being a Techineer himself, has choreographed an unbelievable invention by name ‘Brainset’. The Brainset, in simpler terms, is nothing but a highly sophisticated nanochipset which can flawlessly operate a human body without the aid of any emotive or the organ cerebrum. Jayden has successfully tested in on animals and humans. The selected subject’s humane brains were replaced with Brainset. The subjects’ showed a drastic improvement in their overall performance of Physical and mental activity. Very cleverly, Jayden has hidden the fact that, Brainset in the lower end would not at all trigger the physical lust that typical brains (with cerebrum) caused. Initially, the new invention was looked upon very skeptically (even, the Esq.Jagson, the venerableGaffership of that time strongly opposed it). However, soon after his ToT, Esq. Mayden masterminded the curve of thoughts of common populace with several Direct Digital Demonstrations (DDD). Esq. Mayden has implanted the benefits of Brainset in common populace. He essentially highlighted the facts that mankind can lessen their mental toil, which would in turn, help them in being more productive while giving them more personal space for their desired activity and in the long run help to stop aging, thus giving them a long life span.

The, then Gaffer, Esq. Jagson, has strongly opposed the invention of Brainset and its implantation on humane. He thought, it would alter the course of human and make way to the world of robotics. Jaden, in fact, argued back that, it would lead to a never seen generation of high and advanced humotics which would prosper. In spite of the Esq. Jagson’s protest, Esq. Mayden managed to root-in the idea of Brainset strongly in common populace and managed to convince them literally. Things changed drastically, soon after the legendary test of Measure of Perfection in 2240. Esq. Mayden surprised everyone by scoring a legendary score of 92 percentages. Next, began the prominent journey of Esq.Mayden’sGaffership. The old DDD were erased without any backup and new versions of Dictums were installed. The new Dictums, although, at the outward looked strange to the populace, slowly they began to indulge themselves in it. Just in nine years, Esq. Mayden has changed the Gorbs. He simply had it upgraded to a newer level. Just in the short period, fifty percentage of the whole Gorbspopulace has registered for the process of installing Brainset. The process of the installation has just started since few months back and now proceeding with greater urgency. Esq. Mayden, the man behind it, had nothing to worry about. The path to his novel humotics society is well on its way.

Just as Esq. Mayden contemplated his past and was pondering the pros and cons of futuristic humotics society, his I2P2 buzzed with a yellow light. For a second Esq. Mayden was surprised. He knew the meaning of the yellow flash. It meant an exigency of the matter. The Venerable Mayden squinted his eyes to pinpoint the location. It was coming from the Cryonic Clime - a one and only place in the Gorbs which withhold all the mystics of the ancient science and technology. The beep was a third degree which stands for immediate attention of the Venerable Gaffer. Esq. Mayden understood the urgency and pressed the green button without any delay. BoleslavBolaski identified him through his voice as the Venerable Gaffer casted the I2P2’s connection to his desk’s inconspicuous 7D holographic screen to see the Bolaski and his background in live.

“Venerable Gaffer, this is BoleslavBolaski calling for attention.”

“Please goahead; I am in the open end.” Offered Esq. Mayden.

“Esq. Mayden, we have a firm break-through. The 21^stcentury Cryonic subjects can now be rejuvenated. We have a combination of threeNanonanicdote which can completely killanymalignant, which can trigger the vitrified neuro molecules tore-function, and regenerate tissues and in turn organs that can reverse death or wake the subjects from Cryo-sleep, that isafter we completely or partially reconstruct their bodies from their earlier physicalinjuries.”Bolaskiexplained with a strong excitement in his voice, a second later, he did realize the mistake he had made.

“I expect our inquisitor to deal with facts, and to be negative to emotive, by the way, I recommend you for a latest MoP.” Esq. Mayden said in an uneven tone.

“Will send you one soonEsq.Mayden.”Bolaski said returning to the undertone. 

“Good, now back to the fact, how many Cryonic subjects we have totally?” Esq. Mayden asked.

“We have nearly ten thousand subjects, out of which seventypercentageshas their own complete body. The remaining thirty percentages, that is neuro preserved, can be given new body.”This time Bolaski explained flatly and trying to avoid the holographic eyes of Esq. Mayden.

“I appreciate your success on this, be on the hold until I come back after discussing with our esteemed Juntas.” Esq. Mayden ended the call.

As soon as the call ended the visuals of Cryonic Clime invaded the active mind of Esq. Mayden. Cryonic Clime, located at the southzone of Oriental megalopolis was the vast area of over forty thousand square feet. The Cryonic Clime was a highly secured location which has in-housed nearly ten thousand people of 21^stcentury peoplewho had been cryo-preserved. Most of the Cryonic people were the carrierof malignant (cancerous cells), victims of cardiac arrests and physically declared dead after multiple organ failures.

Funnily, as primitive as they were, scientists and doctors of that centuryjust didn’t know how to deal with malignant cells, cardiac arrests and other multiple organ failures. The most they could do was to think of Cryo-preserving the bodies of few thousand people who were either popular or had enough money to buy the luxury of it. The, then scientist and doctor hoped that someone in future would be able to find a cure for these maladies and resurrect the cryo-preserved. The 21^st century primitives, although scientifically started to dwell well, they were suffering serious consequences of their ever growing population. As per a digital estimate, just before the apoplectic event, the overall population of earth was well overeight billions. This adding to the factor that the primitives were subject to intense emotive, made more than half of their life miserable. There were scarcity of food, clothing and shelter and this very factor gave raise to much emotional turmoil of internal wars, rage against one other and yielded to subsequent crimes of all sorts. Thus, the end of 21^st century and early 22^nd century was a hooligan chaotic world.

However, an apocalyptic event changed everything. On the dark day of 2113, a (over ten kilometer wide) gigantic PHO (Potentially Hazardous Object) from space, without giving chance to comprehend to the, then Astro-physicists,changed its direction mysteriouslyand fell on top of the Antarctica region and gave way to the beginning doomsday of earth. The impact was so devastating that, it even changed the tilt angle of earth to five minus degrees. There were monstrous earthquakes measuring over fifteen in the rector scale of that period. Many glaciers and majorly Himalayan Mountain (popular of that period – located in a country named India) melt down and washed the majority of the life forms of earth. The earth suffered the wrath of aftereffectsfor prolonged years. There were thick clouds of dusts and debris everywhere and it took nearly eight years for the survivors to see the clear sun and moon again. The meager survivor, here and there, began to rehabilitate and assemble together. It was a notable fact that, only a five percentage of whole world’s population survived to see the new light. And these brave people became the pioneers of advanced Brainset world of 23^rd century. The whole history of the apocalyptic event and its aftermath can be read in the DD 1 version 1 - ‘Devastation and Destruction’ of D1. 

Unlike other Gaffers, Esq. Mayden had a different notion towards the 21^stCryo-preserved. Coming from a very scientific background, he always loved ancient (primitive) subjects to explore, or rather, to quench his inner thirst of Brainset mind. Although the new break-through news created a small turmoil in his inner self, Esq. Mayden subdued it modestly. “Of course, they are just primitive subjects.”Esq.Mayden uttered outwardly although he knew no one was going to hear him.

Subjects, especially from 21^stcentury always fascinated the venerable Gaffer. He has studied in detail about their life styles, structure, food habits, their socialbehavior and importantly, their primitiveness of still calling an emotion as ‘LOVE’ (read DD 3 LOVE)

He has watched many of their movies where the emotion by name‘Love’has been exaggerated. He felt very amused about others funny words (Read Popular Dictums – Section F) they used during their lifespan, like – ‘I love you’, ‘I miss you’, ‘You are the love of my life’, ‘You are my angel’, etc. He was also amazed at the intense of the lust they indulged themselves during their era.The primitives were also very vulnerable to other human emotions. Now, he tried to imagine them bringing back to this wonderful, sophisticated and much advanced digital society. Would they survive? Or would he have to induce the process of Brainseton them to remove all the emotional elements in them. He was also worried about the place where he has to colonize them if at all if they were to be resurrected. Well, the decision of course, would ultimately fall in his hand, although the opinion of all esteemed Juntas would count. Esq. Mayden knew very well about how to influence them, if he wanted. On the other hand, he personally felt the people of 21^st century were peculiarly interesting and could prove a well-worth subject for his on-goingBrainset experiment.
