chapter 1

"Thank you Mr.Miller and Mrs.Miller. Am okay thanks to

you." I said after I got well to talk with my usual tempo.

"Look at Jesus!" Mrs Miller said joyfully looking

at his husband.

With this I knew they had a strong foundation in

Christianity and my mother will never have a chance to end my life.

I felt free, I felt safe and that meant I felt at home with

the Millers.

"Jesus is great,"Mr Miller said with a contagious

smile that all of us ended smiling.

"Agatha can't wait to see you home," Her mother

said looking at his husband once again.

They are perfect couples if not parents yet I have known

them for a few days.

The bandages were off my skin and I was recovering so fast

than I thought I would. The scars would remain forever but the good thing is

that I am okay at the moment.

I had talked to them a few weeks ago and they were happy to

welcome them to their family. Well, I couldn't tell them that both of my

parents are demons because who needs to hear the devil himself is out of hell?

I just had to explain to them that I was almost killed

because of the robbery in our house. They killed my sister Jossie and this made

me emotional at some point I could not stop crying.

The nurse walked in and told me to leave the bed and walk

around to check on my recovery and good thing is that I had recovered 99.9% .

"You are free to leave Norah,Mr and Mrs Miller,"

She said with a brilliant smile and left after handing them the discharging

document.

"Let's go home dear," Mrs Miller said and I walked

behind them out of the hospital door.

I had spent almost a year in the hospital and I did have a

feeling of living my best because it dawned me that life is too short.

"Hello? Hello?" Mrs Miller spoke through the

mouthpiece of the phone.

"A what? Okay I will be there," she said this and

hung up.

"Well I will leave you guys for now. I have to check on

Mrs Rhoda from the church because she is admitted in this same hospital.

"She said this and kissed his husband hurriedly and left for the entrance

once again.

I got to the car with Mr. Miller but I instead took the

backseat as he sat at the driver's seat.

"Wait!" Mrs. Miller shouted rushing back.

Mr. Miller brakes and Mrs. Miller sighed taking her glass

case from the front seat.

"Drive safely Mr. Take care Norry till I come."She

had already started calling me this sweet name. I really loved her and of

course I loved Mr. Miller too.

"It's just a thirty minute drive." Mr. Miller said

breaking the eerie silence in the vicinity.

"Okay,"I said looking through the scenery of the

Westside.

"It's a nice environment," I gave him a remark.

"Sure, here people are more careful to how they handle

the ecosystem." He said this proudly.

"Sure, let me show you more of the ecosystem by using

this forest road." He said and made a U-turn to a very deserted road.

We had just driven for a few hours when the radiator started

overheating and it demanded him to go and fix the problem.

I was already flowing with his stories of how different

trees were named and their reason for plantation. He said he loved cedar very

much that he had several planted in the house backyard. It might be a bit wierd

to the neighbours but at least he was doing something for mother nature.

"Take this tablet because I rarely use it. I know how

much you teenagers are obsessed with social media." He said and walked out

of the car to the carrier area to take 

water and correct the error.

The Millers literally loved secrecy. You can tell with how

they talk and the car they have. Mr. Miller had the car tinted and no one was

supposed to open the car window not unless he commands it.

I quickly logged to my social media account particularly

Instagram. I was a big fun of Milley Cyrus and I spend my energy and thoughts

liking her pictures and  commenting on

them.

I did not realise Mr. Miller had taken that long but the car

alarm went off. I was raised in a rich family and I knew crystal clear that Mr.

Miller was in real danger.

I panicked but I mustered courage and told myself I would

not act in haste and make the situation get worse.

I reached for the car door and by mistake I banged the door

making the whole car lock itself now giving a loud beeping with red signals.

As I was figuring out what to do, I heard Mr.Miller

screaming loud enough his echo shouting HELP ME!

I panicked and used the tablet I was given to break the

window. I crawled out of the window without caring of the broken glasses that

bruised my skin.

I guess I froze because I could not feel that strong pain

that time as I stepped on the glasses that had fallen off. I had removed my

shoes to be comfortable and I had a life to save . I owed him one.

"Mr Miller?" I shouted loud enough as I trodded a

path that the grass was flat a little bit because I knew for sure that Mr.

Miller had followed that path.

"Help me," He cried and I started running towards

the direction of his voice.

"I am coming for you just stay where you are" I

shouted and ran into the forest forgetting the harm that had befell him could

befall him too.

I started seeing drops of fresh warm blood with chunks of

small pieces of red meat  in the grass

and I knew I was also in real danger.

"Mr.Miller?" I called again but this time he did

not answer.

My heart started beating faster as I continued following the

lead as I stopped once in a while to check on the visible sounds.

Then all of a sudden darkness swept past me and my leg

started being pulled that I lost my balance and fell on the floor.

"Please don't kill me," I begged but started

feeling movements in my leg as if a million worms had been injected to my leg.

With a heavy thud, something more than 60kg fell beside me

and in less than a minute, the day was back to normal.

I screemed loudly covering my hands over my ears.  What I had seen would not permit me to eat

meat for the rest of my life.

Mr Miller was beyond recognition. His body was not intact

anymore. His body remained a chunk of meat like me minced meat of the

butcheries and small little woems almost a million of them walked inside the

chunk of meat producing a buzzing sound as it burrowed through his cardavour

leaving pore like appearances.

I dragged my feet and crawled on my belly towards the road

to look for help.

My white nick t-shirt was inked with blood and tiny chunks

of meat.

I kept throwing out each time I sighted the crime scene but

I never felt better. After a while I reached the main road and reached our car.

Wonders shall never cease, at the boot of the car, I found

this bacteria I had read about in one of my homeschooling. I never thought that

someone would use this kind of bacteria to kill another.

I knew who could do such a thing. Mrs.Bianca. Agatha had

told  me that his father had a one night

stand with a woman who got obsessed with 

him and she was afraid that woman could do something  worse since she tried to poison her mother

before but failed. She even showed me her pictures and told me to be cautious

of her.

She had been given a restraining order but I guess she

thought to kill the man behind her wildness. I took water which was an antidote

of that bacteria but my last toe finger was already eaten up.

The pain could not be concealed with any alcohol because

Bilogical warfare is a real war. No one can fight against mother nature.

I reached for my tablet to call 911 but at that time someone

screamed loudly all the way from the forest to where I was. I knew I was right

all along.

"You need help,"Mrs Bianca shouted and lit a

lighter

"YOU WILL ROT IN JAIL FOR THIS!"I shouted and

closed my eyes because I knew she was here to end my life.

I kept screaming at the top of my voice for help as she

started burning where I had been infected by the bacteria.

"I SWEAR THIS," I shouted as the smoke of roasted

meat filled the air and she kept whispering things that I did not hear.

Did she just say that she was innocent?

Alarms of the police officers filled the air and I knew help

had come and I kept crossing my fingers and praying that I was not dead by the

time they had arrived.
