chapter 9

"Everything seems alright." She looked at Lord Rendell and he smiled at her with a friendly smile.

She released a breath, glad that it was over. She sat on the bed and wiped the tears with her hand quickly. The physician raised from the bed and opened the door for her. She walked out quickly and stopped only when she was back in her chambers.

Victoria stopped making the bed when she saw as the princess almost sprinted to the room and breathed heavily.

"What happened my Lady?" 

"The king required a confirmation I am a virgin."

Victoria nodded and didn't ask any more questions. Keila didn't think she could do something like this again in a room full of people, but she had no choice. All she could hope for was that the prince would be gentle and don't make it harder than it had to be.

She thought for a while and made a decision. It was about an hour before dinner and she would speak with the prince right after.

Victoria made her a bath because she just couldn't think about anything else that the physician's hands and fingers. She felt dirty.

After Victoria helped her bath she scrubbed herself one or two times more. Her skin was red and burned quite a bit but at last, she felt somehow clean. 

She got dressed in one of her black dress which she didn't wear very often and it was time for dinner. She already knew she would hate dinners. It was the time of the day the whole family ate together as Mirana told her and Keila was uncomfortable around them. After yesterday she dreaded the room. 

She made her way there and all the royals were present apart from Lucian and his daughter. They were all quiet and it was scary. It was like they were off, not reacting until they were all present and she didn't dare to break the strange trance. 

Luckily, Mirana was brave and bold enough to do so and started talking to her brother Hades about some sort of celebration. Keila just tuned them off and concentrated on her thoughts now that she could think.

Was this how her whole life would be like? Dreading dinners with her in-laws and having a husband who didn't even look at her? Kronos sat next to her but it felt like he was a mile away.

After Lucian and Ravena arrived, Kronos started talking military with his uncle Samuel. It seemed like Samuel was army general but she had no idea what Lucian did the whole day. Did he have some job at the palace?

She quietly ate while others talked but there was nothing that would catch her attention. She still thought about tomorrow. After tomorrow there was no way back. She would be part of the royal family and could never take it back. 

She needed to talk to Kronos and get to know him at least the littlest bit. Something, anything, his favourite colour, his preferred weapon of use, really anything he would tell her about himself would make her feel closer. 

She just needed to be closer than a mile away.

After dinner ended she followed him to his chambers. After all, it seemed like she was going to hers she just passed her door and came to a stop in front of his.

She knocked and the door opened almost instantly.

He stared and blinked a few times before raising an eyebrow expectantly. She just realized she should say something. "Forgive me my prince but I would like to talk to you."

Kronos motioned a hand for her to enter and she did. His chambers were huge but simple. A small sitting area and a bedroom with a seat, few chests and a huge bed. 

She stared at the bed for a moment. Would it be here or somewhere else? She shook her head and looked at her prince who waited for her to talk.

"What did you want to talk about?"

"I.... honestly... I'm not sure. About tomorrow? "

She sat on one of the chairs in the room and he sat on the opposite side.

"What about tomorrow?" She started to back out now when she saw him before her. She shook her head. No, she could do this just ask him. "I wanted to ask you a favour. I am really nervous about the bedding and just wanted to ask if you could try to make it quick and not so painful?"

By now she was blushing and looking at her feet but she felt proud of herself. She said it. 

"It's your first time. That's why are you scared?" Was he really concerned? It sounded like it although his voice was void of emotion.

"I don't think that's why I just didn't expect it to be with a stranger and in front of others so I don't wish to make it any harder than it has to be." Did she really just manage to say that out loud? Gods, was she getting bold.

"We can do it now if you want." Keila's head shot up so quickly her neck almost snapped.

"What!? I didn't...I don't...." Her words died in her mouth as the prince stood up and towered over her. Why was he so big and burly?

He helped her stand up and looked in her eyes his face still emotionless. "If you don't want others to watch we can do it now." He leaned in and whispered in her ear and she felt just breath tickle her skin. "Nobody needs to know. It would be just you and me."

Why was it getting hard to breathe? She felt her throat close a bit as she was breathing heavily and her knees felt like giving up.

Was he really being considerate or was he making fun of her? Who knew. She felt lightheaded and he just stood there, looking at her with a mask-like expression.

She wanted to take a step back but her legs hit the chair and she fell. His big hands shot forward and caught around her waist to secure her.

His hands felt so hot and rough but she loved the feeling. What was he doing to her? She met him just yesterday.

They stared at each other before she blinked and broke the spell. Just like they came, all the weird feelings were gone and were replaced with fear. She shook his hands off and before he could react she marched to the door ready to leave the very second. 

"We can act." She froze in her spot. What did he mean? She turned around, waiting for further explanation. "We are going to be on the other side of the room, behind a curtain and under a blanket. They won't see any details so we can just pretend." Did he really say this? Would he do this for her? 

" I'm just gonna lay on you and move. You can moan, cry, just make it sound real and we will be fine."

"Why would you do that for me?"

He smirked, she was so adorable at times, his innocent little girl. "You are obviously scared and don't want to do it and I don't rape."

"Thank you" Keila couldn't believe he would do that for her. She really wasn't ready.

"You should go to sleep, it's late and tomorrow is an important day so goodnight."

"Goodnight" with that she left the room still not believing what happened.
