Masuk“What are you doing?!” One moment I was at the table, next I’m in Wilder’s arms. I feel that same electric current as the first time. Somehow it seems stronger this time. Is this the mate touch Gareth mentioned?
Not even realizing he is heading towards the bed or that she had stopped crying she is lost in thought. Pondering about what this electric touch means. Wilder places her on the bed and turns to walk away.
“Wait!”
“Did you want a drink of water? You seemed like you had been crying for awhile and I thought it might help.” He continues with what he was doing. Coming back with a glass of ice water. He hands it to her and sits next to her.
“I have some questions for you.”
“I have some as well. Should we go back and forth so we can both get our answers then?”
Cassidy nods her head. Thinking this will help both of them. If what Gareth said is true and they are mates she wouldn’t be able to just run away from it. I may not be that old but if I had someone that would love only me and protect me for the rest of my life and they took off, I would chase them till the end of the world. I’m sure it would be the same for him. Thinking of age and how Gareth said werewolves live longer than humans – “How old are you?”
Stunned that with everything going on that would be her first question I just stared for a bit. Finally coming back to my senses “I’m 23 years old. How about yourself?”
“I just turned 19 last month.”
This lasted for hours as we got to know one another. Feeling more comfortable with Wilder I finally ask a question that had been on my mind since his dad talked to me earlier. “Am I really your mate?”
Shocked that she knew about this I suddenly remembered the old man sending me out earlier so he could talk to her. “Yes.”
“How do you know for sure? I mean I’m human so why would I be your mate?”
“Your smell. It was how I found you in the woods. Once I laid eyes on you my wolf recognized you as mate. I’m sure you feel almost like an electric current when we touch as well. All of that confirms that you are my mate. Yes you are human, but I don’t think you’re a normal human. Knocking out three adult wolves in the pack at once would prove that. I don’t think the moon goddess would give me a mate that wouldn’t be able to live with me as long as I would live. So besides your ability to kick ass, there must be more that we don’t know about you.”
“My father….” Its barely above a whisper but with my hearing I can easily hear what she says under her breath. I realize she is right. From what the old man said earlier her father was a very powerful man who lived longer than even wolves. If that was the case it would stand to reason that Cassidy, having inherited his power, would be the same. How could a human be able to do that though? She doesn’t smell like a wolf, she smelled human.

Daisy found nobody in the room and the door was also closed. She was feeling dizzy and weak but still while staggering she managed to stand up from the bed. Taking slow careful steps, she started walking towards the door, supporting the bed. She was feeling that suddenly her body started feeling heavy. Even walking was difficult for her. The gown, she was wearing was not of her size. It was a little loose but she felt comfortable in it.S
On the the third floor, one of those lace barriers twitched. A shadow moved past, just a flicker of darkness, so fast it almost escaped Crook's enhanced scrutiny. The signet ring on his right finger hummed against his skin, hot and urgent. He glanced down at the ring.A hot, solid wave of energy slammed against his expanded thoughts. His head snapped back from the rush of power. His mind folded in on itself and his perceptions screeched down to normal speed so abruptly he almost stumbled. His ears rang. His jaw ached from clenching his teeth-and from- from what.A mental slap?Had somebody really slapped him? He rubbed the space between his right eye and his chin. Damned if it didn't burn. What the hell? Some kind of barrier. Some kind of elemental protections? The beast inside him wanted to snarl and retreat, but he couldn't let that happen. He was here in New York city, with his partner Andy, poking around on the ritualistic murder of a senator'
"I'm sorry, Tayla. If only I can make you stay in our house, I would. But you know our house is not that big and my Mom is a human Armalite, right?" Ella scratched her head and hold the edge of the map, glancing at me before she continued mopping the floor. We are again, in Talk and Chill. Tomorrow I wouldn't be here for the class will start and I need a place where I can stay. Unluckily, Ella, my best friend just told me that she's wasn't able to offer me a hand.I sighed. "I understand, Ella. Thanks for telling me early." I turned around and went towards the sink to wash the dishes, my lips twisting a bit as I thought...why are we getting paid under minimum wage when we do almost all kinds of things in this chill bar? We should at least have an increase."Tayla, I don't understand you. When your parents died, your Aunt Tanya stood as your guardian, but why are you planning to leave your own house?" She stood up and glanced at me with her bewildered, round eyes
