Chapter 6

After my shower I come back to the room to see that Colin is still asleep. I tiptoe over to the bed and sit on the corner of the bed.

“Good morning my love.” His eyes open and he takes me in with a smile.

“Good morning.” I return his smile and he holds out his hand. Placing my hand in his, he sits up and clears his throat.

“I have a few meetings today Ellie. We need to start planning if we are going to find him. We can’t get comfortable knowing he’s out there and that he wants you.”

I tense at his words, remembering that Shane is in fact still out there. I know he won’t stop in his quest to make me his Luna. The only way to be finally freed of that evil is for him to be killed.

“I know. It’s ok, my parents are already on there way to see me. Besides, someone needs to take care of all.. this.” I wave my hand in circles reminding him of the mess that used to be our room.

“I have already made arrangements for us to have a different room Ellie, it will be ready for us by this evening.” I am so glad to have one less thing to worry about. I place a quick peck on his lips, then I pretty much shove him off the bed.

“Ok, now go take a shower and brush your teeth. I’m home now so there is no excuse for you to look and smell homeless.”

He furrows his eyebrows at me while pursing hips lips before standing from the bed and stretching out. I can’t stop my jaw from hitting the floor when he does this.

He isn’t the only thing in this room standing and stretching. My eyes catch his attention causing him to laugh again.

“As much as I would love to take you again right here, my father would kill me if I was late. I promise to make it up to you later.” I smack his ass as he walked away, making him growl playfully as he enters the bathroom and closes the door.

“I’m going to hold you to that. You know I will! If you don’t take care of me, I’ll just have to do it myself.” I mind link him while giggling.

“Don’t you dare! I am the only one who is allowed to please you. Besides, I’ve seen you take care of yourself before while saying my name. It made me insanely jealous because I wasn’t actually inside of you.”

What?!

“He was there Ellie!” Leia is yelling in my head at the realization.

“Oh my Goddess Leia! You are so right!” I yell back to her.

“That freaking horn dog! What a creep!” She is almost laughing now.

“Speak for yourself Leia, you are far worse than him!” She flicks her tail at me and I laugh at her. We are back to normal without missing a beat.

Colin sticks his head out of the bathroom looking as white as a ghost realizing his sudden confession. I raise an eyebrow at him and try my hardest not to smirk. It doesn’t work.

“I knew you were there, I could smell you!” I point an accusing finger at him and his face pales even more, which I didn’t think was possible. His hand smacks his forehead and his head falls forward.

“Were you in my room in the middle of the night too?!” My eyebrows now raised as high as they would go, almost motherly, like I was about to scold him if he lied.

“Uh, well, uh. Fuck. Yes, I was. I’m sorry, I know that’s weird and stalker status. I don’t know what came over me. I spent a few hours trying to figure out where the hell you went and finally my mother let it slip that you went to your parents house."

He frantically looks at my reaction, but when my face remains blank he just keeps going.

"I saw your bedroom light go on and I snuck up to it so I could figure out why you ran away. I was frozen when I saw what you were doing and I heard you call my name. After you fell asleep, yes, I crept into your room and into your bed and just held you for a few hours.”

I have never seen him so nervous or ramble so fast. I decide to let him sweat it out a little longer by furrowing my brows and crossing my arms. Not saying a word.

He shifts from foot to foot and rakes his hands through his hair, worry clear on his face at what I am going to say next.

With a burst of air through my mouth I am doubled over on the bed busting with laughter as I hold my sides.

“Oh my Goddess Colin Winter, you are such a creep!” I am rolling and obnoxiously laughing at the thought of him doing that. I don’t notice that he is charging the bed and I am taken by surprise when he jumps on top of me. He props himself up on his elbows inches from my face.

“Maybe I should just deal with the repercussions of my father and take care of you now!” He has a look of determination in his eyes that makes me instantly squeal.

I lick my lips foreseeing where this is about to go, but before we have time to, his eyes go gray for a moment as someone is mind linking him. A low annoyed growl comes from his throat and when his eyes go back to hazel he presses a quick kiss onto my lips and gets off the bed.

“What was all that about?” I notice him tense while he is walking to the closet to get dressed.

“Nothing, don’t worry about it. I will handle it. DO NOT take care of yourself without me here understand?!” He uses his Alpha tone on me which is actually so hot.

“I can’t make any promises if you take too long!” He growls at my threat and I laugh throwing my hands in the air.

“Ok fine, I promise! Just hurry back!” I stick my tongue at him and he shakes his head.

After he leaves, I get dressed for the day. It is too much to be alone so I have to leave the room as well. I head to the kitchen for some breakfast and then walk out to the front porch of the pack house. I sit down on the cold steps soaking up the suns warmth just as my parents come walking up the pathway.

Of course my mom starts crying hysterically and my dad just hugs me tightly, not having to say any words. We talk long enough for the sun to melt all of the snow. It is time for lunch already and my stomach is growling. So is Leia in my head. I giggle at her.

My parents say their goodbyes and head home. They are crushed to know that their new pack leader could do that under their noses, but I assured them that I am ok. Everyone is happier under Brandon’s rule as Alpha. I think he was made for the role.

At one point in our conversation my mom had started to bring up Victoria and my dad stopped her. I was starting to think that she had something to do with Colin being mind linked this morning and why he was suddenly upset. I remembered her words that night, because they still bring shivers to my spine.

***Flashback to the night of the winter ball after Shane’s rejection****

“You have taken not one, but two Alphas from me you bitch! I was born to be a Luna. I promise you I will kill you for this!

Her words were laced with hatred and venom. I do not take that threat lightly and I am sure she meant every word. As I turn to head back inside I feel a pair of eyes on me. I whip around and barely see a shadow move behind a tree. Shivers creep up my spine.
