He knew lotus tea is my favorite! Which means he had to go out to get it just for me. Is this kind of care and thoughtfulness what having a mate means? I was falling for this man fast and hard and I wasn’t sure if that was the right thing to do. My mother could still be out there. Waiting for me. There was also the issue of those who were pursuing me.
I could tell her mind was wandering. She was an open book at the moment. Quickly going from happy to worried.
“Now that we have eaten I think we should talk about my little experiment earlier.”
She perked up once I mentioned that and I grinned. “I am going to guess that you haven’t noticed any significant changes since you started meditating?” She nods in agreement. “Well when you told me you broke the scrub stick-“
“Loofah.”
“What?”
“Its called a loofah.”
I chuckle that she seems to make sure I know what this shower item is called. “Okay, loofah. When you told me you broke the brand new loofah simply washing yourself I knew your strength had increased. Normal people wouldn’t be able to break a wooden stick simply washing themselves. Even if they did they would damage their skin with how hard they would be scrubbing. Yet you weren’t injured in the slightest and broke it with ease. That alone shows your strength has increased and your bodies defense has as well. You reacted quickly when I blocked you. The speed that you used shows your faster and your reflexes have improved. Significantly.”
I took in what Wilder had said. If the loofah brush really was new it should be fairly strong. There was no way I would have been able to break it that easily before. Let alone not have even a red mark from scrubbing . If that is the case I wonder what other areas I have improved in. It had only been one day! Wasn’t this amount of growth to huge?! I decided to do something my mother had taught me growing up. I closed my eyes and did something she called ‘taking inventory’. It is a way to look inside yourself to see where you might have injuries or where an illness is coming from. A way to help yourself when your sick or injured and the town wont have anything to do with you. We had to take care of ourselves.
I notice almost immediately that all my organs and blood vessels seem to be stronger and healthier. I wasn’t unhealthy to begin with, but it was like even slight impurities in my body had been expelled making everything healthier! The muck! Was that why my skin had been covered in that layer of brown muck?
“What is with the surprised expression?”
“My organs and blood vessels are stronger too. I took inventory and the meditation removed impurities in my body too. That had to have been the muck on my skin earlier! How is that possible though?”
“Really? Out of everything, your wondering how you were able to remove impurities in your body?” He chuckles while saying this so I playfully smack his chest.
“Okay okay, I get your point. Its just crazy to me that something everyone does to calm down and relieve stress made me stronger and got rid of impurities I hadn’t even realized I had. Guess my dad was being honest.”
I could see her thinking about everything we just realized in the last few hours. I have a feeling that she is going to want to spend all the time she can meditating to become stronger.
“Is there a way I can meditate there even if you aren’t with me?”
“I don’t want you by yourself. If something were to happen to you….” I take a moment to calm down. “I can have some people I trust to stay near to keep an eye out for you. They wont go into that area unless absolutely necessary. Not just because no one but you and me wants to step foot there but because they wouldn’t defy their future alpha and luna.”
“Luna…”
“Yes. Since I am future alpha of this pack, my mate would be given the title of luna. Protecting the luna is of utmost importance to a pack.”
