A bushfire raged around a lone golden dingo.Around him, animals were fleeing, shrieking and screaming cutting through the roar of the flames. The dingo appeared to remain calm and composed, but his eyes were glazed over and he seemed to be there, but not there.The fire danced and leapt around him, emitting a harsh orange light. The ground was coated in fine and coarse ash which blew and settled in the wind.The flames were not dangerous creatures, yet they held more lethality than any beast, prey or predator, in the Australian desert.Fast winds raced past, feeding the fire with dry, brittle branches that blew in the wind, broken off of the dehydrated, starving shrubs and trees that dotted the wilderness.
