Gabriel's POV:Friend That word was kind of foreign to me. Sure I had Daniel as my best friend but he was my only guy friend and friend in general. It has been years since I have had another friend, let alone a girl as a friend. When I was in high school I had plenty of girlfriends that were consider my friend but never one who didn't want to sleep with me. Carmen sure was different than most girls I have ever met. She has not thrown herself at me, not even once. If I wasn't so shocked I would be hurt. Ever since I have met her she has surprised me. She wasn't like other girls who tried to hide how smart they were, didn't eat nothing in front of people because she didn't want to become fat, and she was someone who stuck up for herself. Carmen's POV:"So what is function of this equation?" Mia asked pointing to one of the math problems on the piece of paper in front of me. I stared down at the math worksheet almost willing it to grow a pair of legs and walk away. We have been here in the library for over 3 hours now doing homework and some studying and my head was about to explode. My eyes were going crossed from staring down at words this entire time. Right now Mia was trying to help me with some difficult math questions but I just couldn't seem to get it. Math was definitely not my strong suit and by now I just wanted to rip it into shreds. Andrew's POV:Asking Carmen out had to be one of the most nerve wrecking things I have ever done. I mean it wasn't like I asked her out on a date date, more of a 'please forgive me for being an ass and I want to make it up to you' type of thing. Right? The little voice on my head questioned. "Carmen! Come quickly....it is Gabe." It felt like my entire body was doused in ice cold water. I could hear Daniel yelling through the phone but it was coming out all muffled. My mind wasn't working as I stood still in the middle of my bedroom. My hand was clenching my phone so tightly I was afraid it would snap. "Carmen! Carmen!" My name was repeated in my ear. Realizing that it was still Daniel yelling my name I tried to snap out of it. "Y-yes?" I stuttered out. "You need to come over. There's a lot of blood and I don't know what to do." I could clearly hear the panic in his voice. "I'll be there in just a minute. Make sure to have the first aid kit out." I said before hanging up. I could feel myself shaking and my mind was racing. Gabriel's POV: The rest of the week after going to the Empire State Building with Carmen I couldn't get her out of my mind. The image of her leaning over the side of the building with the wind in her hair was something that I couldn't erase from my mind and I didn't want to either. What scared me the most is that I was starting to feel something towards her. Something other than hatred or annoyed at her. She sure knew how to make someone like her. Carmen had this innocence about her that just drew you in and made you want to learn more about her. For someone that came from money she wasn't like those snotty bratty girls I went to high school with. Carmen's POV: That morning... I grinned down at my finished drawing. It has taken me a while to finish it and I was beyond satisfied of the end result. Although the drawing did no justice for the actual person I would have to do with it. With my art portfolio being pushed up to Monday, I had to hurry and finish up the pieces I wanted to put in it. After going to the Empire State Building with Gage I was struck with some inspiration, or at least it sparked some creative juice. For my art portfolio I needed three pictures and thankfully I was able to sketch all three in the last few days.
