Et si les rêves étaient en fait des myriades de dimensions parallèles ? Chaque fois que l’on s’endort, notre esprit crée un monde éphémère qui se désagrège à notre réveil. Mais Isobel possède un don particulier : celui de se projeter dans ces dimensions fragiles, de les altérer, voire même d’en restituer les images dans le monde de « l’éveil ». À 20 ans, elle cultive un quotidien simple et solitaire dans un petit village des Highlands. Jamais elle n’aurait pu prédire que cette femme, aperçue fugacement sur les rives de son loch local, fasse à ce point basculer sa vie. Pourtant, celle-ci s’invite dans ses songes et l’obsède. Pour lever le voile sur ce phénomène inédit, Isobel devra suivre un fil d’ariane entre rêves, veille et cauchemars.
