LOGINAyomide's POV
Being the only living child of a rich entrepreneur has its perks and downsides. To me, the downsides are more then the perks. I'd give anything to have a different life. Not that I don't love my parents.
I'm the only living child of my parents and to be precise, the only male child. I once had two siblings, an elder brother and a younger sister but they are gone now. How they died is a story for another day.
My father owns a company which is the second leading company in this country. He expects me to follow his footsteps and take over the company when I'm older but I don't want to. I'm interested in business but I don't want to have anything to do with my father's company. My father might think I don't know about the shady things he has done all in the name of his company but I'm actually well aware.
As much as I can remember, I spent most of my childhood with my cousin and her family. Her family is also not a bed of roses, her mother is dead so it's just her father that's my uncle. My parents do not have my time, I'm used to it now tho. Ever since the death of my younger sister two years ago, things became worse. Not like things weren't bad before.
"Guy Whatsup na. You just dey sit for there. I hope no problem." Deji, one of my roommates says, sitting on a chair facing my bed.
"Nothing oo. I just dey think." I sigh, sitting up from my bed.
"What are you thinking about?" He askes, giving me a scrutinizing look.
"Can I ask you a question? Don't laugh o" I ask him. I really need to talk to someone about how I'm feeling inside. Deji is the closest person that I have here. He's the only one I trust out of all my so called friends. I've been in this school for about a month and I've made lots of friends but I know that more than 90 percent of them are fake. They just want to be my friend because of my looks and money.
"Sure na. What are friends for? But I can't say I won't laugh o. If it's funny, I'll laugh but I'll still answer" He says, smiling. One of that reasons why I trust him, he is always sincere.
"Have you ever felt that a particular thing is familiar but you can't place it. That's what's happening to me. Most times, I feel like I'm missing something. It feels like there's a block in my memory." I let out, telling him exactly what is bothering me.
Ever since I got to this school and I set my eyes on Fikayo, I started feeling things that I've never felt before. Whenever I see her, it feels like I know her from somewhere but my brain can't just process it.
"Hmmn. I've never felt like that before o. But my advice is that you should spend more time with the thing, maybe its the key to removing the block you have in your memory." He says, shrugging his shoulders.
His words get to me. Maybe I should interact more with Fikayo. She might be the keys to regaining my memories from when I was young. But she's avoiding me for reasons that I don't understand.
"Oya guy, it's time for dinner. Let's go, hunger is killing me " Deji says, standing up from the chair.
We walked out of the room towards the cafeteria which was made separately for SS3 students. You might be wondering about the whereabouts of my third roommate, Adura. He should be with his new found girlfriend who happens to by my girlfriend's twin sister. I was really surprised when he asked her out this morning. I thought he liked his seatmate, Sade, but then we can only wonder sha.
On my way to the cafeteria, apart from the normal fake greetings from girls and bro hugs from guys who want to be my friend, I notice something else. Most students are chattering and murmuring and I'm starting to think everyone's talking about one thing which I'm curious to know. Maybe I should ask Deji, he might know.
"Guy, do you know what everyone's talking about? " I ask Deji as we enter the cafeteria. Immediately we entered, all eyes turn to us. I really don't know what's special that they are looking at. I'm dressed casually in a khaki short and a round-necked vest. Perhaps I'm too handsome to be ignored.
"You didn't see the post? Mad oo" Deji says as we lined up to collect our dinner which i'm yet to know. I sha pray it's something edible.
"Which post? I haven't been online since morning." I reply, collecting my food which consists of fried yam and tomato sauce from the cook.
"Well, someone posted something about a student in our set self harming. It seems true tho. A picture of the girl with cuts in her wrist was released. I think her name is Fikayo." Deji says, causing me to halt my movement. Unknown to me, a girl is at my front. My food pours on the girl and the whole cafeteria booms with laughter. The poor girl runs out. I really want to apologize but before I can go after her, someone holds my hands.
"Boo. Don't tell me you are about to go after that dummy." Tolu says, holding my hands, interrupting me from running after the girl I dumped my food on. I try ignoring her so as to go after the girl but unfortunately, the hostel mistress enters, signaling the beginning of the meeting we are supposed to have.
Mila POV"People say new year marks a new beginning and new beginnings brings about happiness while that wasn't my case when I walked into the companyA mixture of emotions churned deep inside me as i took a deep breath, breathing in all the uncertainty that surrounds me" I didn't know what would become of me now that Mr Harris was retired , as the office felt empty without his presence but I chose to be positiveMaybe his son wasn't that bad, maybe he was just like his father and the company needs a fresh young face anyways, " I said to myself comforting myself with each wordI quickly greeted Jolie at the lobby as I hurriedly made my way up to the last floorToday was the day, the day the new CEO starts and I don't want him to get there before meReaching to the office and seeing no one, I became overly curious as to why he wasn't here yet so I decided to
Once she came out of her room, she handed the room keys to the receptionist and dragged her luggage to the bus. She boarded the bus and kept her luggage in the compartment of the single seat reserved for her. Ensured that it was safe and stepped out. She had some light morning breakfast of two slices of bread, some fruits, and a glass of herbal tea. She bought some bananas and guavas and kept them in her backpack. Just in case she needed to munch, she would have the fruits. One by one all of them boarded the bus. Tanisi boarded it the last and sat at her place. Varidhi had instructed to keep all valuables with them since they would leave the luggage in the bus. They set out to the hills. The morning was still dark, and the weather quite chilly. Tanisi had expected this and was wearing a jacket on her T-shirt. This ensured she was comfortably warm. After an hour's journey they reached the foothill.
Caroline stuck to the shadows as she looked grimly at her scrying map. The red marker shone brighter the closer she got to her mark and for a moment she was tempted to send for the elder council. But the abundance of bad leads made the high priestess pause, and reconsider her position, loathing to rouse them from their beds on a chance that this time her locator had worked. Stepping nimbly through the brambles with a grace that belies her age, Caroline gave a sigh of relief as she exited the forest and gazed upon violet field. The gates to the pack pyres were open on the far end and she squinted her eyes in confusion, "They should be shut," She murmured and muttered " el gatus closeth" a simple spell to close doors, but nothing happened.
I rubbed my stomach. I try not to stress because it will affect my fetus. Yes, I should be grateful for the pregnancy I have been waiting for, but it complicates the situation. It would be a lie if I said I was fine. The problem is, I don’t know the father of my baby. Harvey? Or Sean?“Angel.”I found a woman who 3 days ago I was worried about childbirth. Yes, he is Renata. The nurse handed Renata to me, who was sitting in the garden area of the hospital.“Hey, Renata,” I said, glad that I finally had someone I could talk to. “How are you and your baby?”“We’re good, thanks to you,” Renata answered. “Thank you for praying for us and being
