I ran to the room they had Amber in and saw the doctor connecting her to some meds, he saw me and gave me a sad smile before walking out leaving us alone.

I held her hand silently crying, why God why. You can't do this to her I cried. Dropping my head on her bed I sighed.

A few minutes later someone entered the room, I turned around to see Xavier, his usual confident stride replaced with a slow walk.
He buttoned the last button of his shirt and ran his hands through his messy hair, he was about to say something when a nurse walked in.

She held a smirk and ran her hand over his arm, he tensed at the sudden contact.

" call me if you want me again" she winked, he pushed her of slightly but she didn't seem to care. With a seductive sway of the hip she turned and left.

I stared at him in disbelief 
" what the hell Xavier" I yelled,
he knows what he's done but doesn't seem to care one bit.

" Deluca you will not tell me what the fuck to do!" He yelled back, I turned away from him so he couldn't see my traitorous tears. I ignored his presence and held Amber's hand, this is his daughter and while she's in hospital he fucks a nurse I'm so done with him.

I sat on the chair next to Amber and stared at her sadly. I will not let her get involved with the bullshit Xavier's involved with even though I don't know what the fuck it is. That reminds me, I need to find out.

I stayed in hospital till 8.00 which was when visitor times end. I kissed Amber on the forehead and went out to hail a taxi. When I got home I changed into my nighty and went straight to sleep. 

Tomorrow there's a massive board meeting and then I'm going to go to hospital for Amber, it's finna be a long ass day.

Amber's become such a presence that this house feels weird without her, what am I going to do. What if one day Xavier decides to take her back and not allow me meet her. I'll kill him.....yeah that should work.

I woke up in a disheveled state, its going to take a long time to fix. After having I shower I change into a pair of light blue skinny jeans, a black shirt which I tucked in and finally my my black blazer I slipped on my Adidas superstars and black scarf before running to the bus stop.

I got to work a little earlier than usual thank goodness, this means I don't have to see stupid Xavier as soon as get on to the 50th floor. Ambling towards my office I got started on all the stock papers and graphs that he'll need for the meeting.

After 10 minutes of doing bullshit work my door opened, glancing up from the papers I smiled as Jay closed the door behind him.

I smiled murmuring a hey whilst he sat in front of me placing his gigantic legs on my table, rolling my eyes I laughed.

" hey Habiba wanna go for lunch again" he asked casually, YASS at least I don't have to be in the office alone with Mr Santos.

" yeah sure just meet me at my office and we will go, can we get pizza today?" I questioned with a big grin, he nodded and stood up excitedly.

" ok Bab I'll see you..." He was interrupted by a growl from behind him. We turned cautiously to see Xavier looking very very vexed.

Typical.

" Mr Presscot get the fuck out of Deluca's office and you get the hell in my office" he said loudly to get his points across.

Without thinking I said the first thing that came to my head, unfortunately it wasn't too nice.

" dont yell at me Santos I'm sure you can do a lot of that to your little girlfriends" I yelled portraying my anger, I was too riled up to realize Jay had left the room.

He stepped towards me quickly and pulled me by the arm into his office, once we got there Xavier pushed me against the wall.

His body inches away from mine, before I could take in a breath he lifted his fist and threw it inches away from my face. The whole movement caused me to cower in fear.

Xavier's eyes held many emotions but the most prominent one was rage, his fist was still in the dented wall and my body was still shivering in shock.

" I've had fucking enough of you Deluca, either you keep your smart mouth shut or I'll make SURE you never see Amber" he growled, my fear dissipated, I don't know if it's the threat about Amber that I'm so used to or it's the fact that he's hurt.

Ignoring his words I gently pulled his fist away from the wall.

He's threatened me too many times for me to care, obviously it still hurts and scares me inside but I'm not going to show it to him.

His knuckle was bleeding profusely, I gently pulled him towards the mini toilet room and grabbed the first aid kit placing his hand on the sink.

I'm going to help him I'm going to be a good person and a good Muslim, thats the chant I have to continuously repeat in my head whenever I'm around him.

Taking out the sterilizer I rubbed it carefully on his knuckles, surprisingly he didn't flinch but he was looking at me intently the whole time which made me feel so damn uncomfortable.

After wrapping it up carefully I put everything away and walked into his office, he followed me.

" Habiba what did I say about talking to other men" a flutter rose in my stomach but I had to remind my self what he's doing is wrong, this shouldn't make me feel good. I looked up at him to see him staring down at me blankly, no emotion again.

" I'm sorry Mr Santos you are not my husband nor my father so you have no say in what I do" I replied sassily, he muttered something angrily to himself before grabbing a few red files. His tense body portrays the fact that he tried not to kill me, kinda glad. Kinda.

" meetings now, show some respect my father is going to be there"
