chapter 30

"Act natural" I told Barbie.

"Okay" she replied.

"There you are. What's going on girls? Are you having a girl talk?" she asked giving an aircote to the word 'girl talk'.

"Uhm n..n..no" Barbie blurted.

"Is anything wrong?" Mum asked.

Barbie was about to spoil my plan. She wasn't acting naturally at all. She had a facial expression that gave away the fact that I had a secret.

I quickly hit her with my elbow which made her let out a groan.

"Ouch!" She yelled.

"Are you hiding anything from me?" Mum questioned.

Things were getting worse for me. Mum kept asking questions that I didn't have an answer to.

I thought: Can things go any worse? BOOM!! I got my answer immediately. I wish I didn't ask cause things could actually get worse. I got a text from Cody.

Doesn't he know the appropriate time to text? I thought.

But to think about it, he's actually helping me now. Even though I wasn't in the mood for his romance chats, he could help me escape from my mum's wrath.

"I'll be right back mum. I have a message" I told mum.

"Okay" she replied.

"Can I go with Tracy?" I asked.

"Why?" She questioned.

I had to take Tracy out of there. Mum could pressurise her to tell the truth.

"Mum! Why so much questions?" I asked. Trying to drift from the question.

"Well if you really need her I can leave you girls alone. Since you are keeping me in the dark." She said sadly.

"I'm sorry mum" I told her.

I wish I could tell mum. I actually could tell her but she'll probably have a heart attack. I don't want her heart disease to get worse.

As soon as she left I turned to Barbie

"Ouch! You know I'm not good at keeping secrets. Don't blame me" she said while rubbing her arm.

"Whatever" I said before picking up my phone.

The message..

I decided to open Cody's message first. I wasn't ready to read Char's messages. It'll get me more upset.

Cody's message said

I replied saying

I ignored Char's message and went straight to check out my e-mail. I got a few messages from school, online classes and Char again.

The guilt was disturbing. I had to get rid of my phone. I immediately closed all my opened apps and threw my phone on the bed.

"What's wrong?" Tracy asked

"Oh nothing" I pretended like everything was normal. I couldn't tell Tracy anymore of this. She couldn't even keep the little I told her for a second. It would be a great risk to tell her more.

"It has to be something" she said.

"I said it's NOTHING!!!" I yelled. This made Tracy so cold. She felt abandoned or something. Tears started feeling her eyes. It was about to drop before she left the room.

"Barb!" I tried calling her but she didn't answer. She just wiped her tears while walking.

"What's wrong" Mum walked into the room while asking.

I just shot my eyes closed while facing down. What was wrong with me? I kept hurting everyone. Everythingwas clashing in my life.

"I'm so heartless" I said out.

"No you are not" Mum said.

"What do you know?" I asked mum while whipping my nostrils.

"I do know you are not heartless. You may be going through a lot but that doesn't make you heartless. Figure out how to fix whatever happened between you and your sister."

"Okay. Thanks mum" I hugged her.

"I'm off to the groceries store. I'll be back in a gify" she said before leaving.

"Bye" I said.

As soon as she left I went to search for Tracy.

"Barb?.. I'm sorry!." I said while searching for her but she didn't answer.

I finally found her in the basement after minutes of search. She was crying bitterly when I got there.

"Barb?" She immediately whipped her tears and tried to act normal but I knew I hurt her so bad.

"What?" She asked

"I'm sorry"

"No need. I made the mistake of asking" she said while walking away.

I couldn't let her go. I had to stop her so I held her hand when she tried passing me.

"No you didn't" I immediately hugged her then said "I really love you Barb. I don't want to loose you too"

At first she stood still. I'm sure I cut her unawares because when she realized she hugged me back.

"I love you to Char" she said.

"Awn! My babies" mum said at the background.

"Mum! I thought you where going out?" I asked annoyed.

"I wasn't. I just did it to give you guys some privacy. I figured it would work" Mum said in her 'I'm always right tone'

"Very smart mum" I gave her the sarcastic look.

"Yeah I'm pretty smart" mum said back.

"Excuse me girls, I need to take a call." I said.

Since everything was settled. I needed to reply Char.

I checked my phone's messages.

I had a new message from Cody too. I was actually tired of all his romance. So I achieved his chat.

Char's message said

I was literally crying after I read it. It was to painful that she thought I hated her. I really felt sad at the moment.

I immediately closed the message app and opened the call dial. I dialed her number and called soon after. I couldn't afford to mess up our relationship. After all, shes my only friend.

"Hello?" Char said just as she picked the call.

"Heyy" I replied.

"I'm really sorry Char. I shouldn't have done that. Please forgive me. Don't let our friendship die, please" She pleaded.

"I will never let out friendship die"

Even though friendship isn't a person but a word. I do value it so much.

Charlie and I spoke some more over the phone, sorted out our differences and became friends again. I just hope our friendship lasts.
