MasukIan looked at Jacob that filled his mouth with food and sighed. "Mom is a good person. She chose to take us in, even tho she could have had an easier life without us. Jacob, how did you survive this far?"
Jacob was about to put a spoon of stew into his mouth but then stopped and lowered it. His brown eyes became darker as he remembered. "We went shopping for mothers birthday. Just as we were inside the centre there was a huge sale offer in that store. People stormed there and we chose to first go to my uncle, that was working as security in that mall. We just entered his place and saw him standing with coffee and then blackout. Nothing else could be seen or heard."
As we woke up on the floor we could see our uncle lying dead on the floor and went out. ''It was horrible. Dead bodies were everywhere. I dragged some outside and just locked the door on that store."
Jacob shook as he continued talking.
"As we had a house on the other side of town we should go home, right? But as we came out, we saw these creatures eating the dead humans and got scared. I know how to lock the main doors and rushed to the office. But suddenly the people on the floor were standing. Motionless, still dead. Inside the office, I found my uncle as well as standing and got scared."
He paused a bit and ate the spoonful of food before continuing. After that he chose to drag the humans to stores and lock them in the hope they will get alive. He locked all the doors and as the office had a sleeping place as well and showers he chose to stay inside. Telephones didn't work, electricity didn't work. So all they could do is to hope that their mother alive.
But as days passed they lost hope. As they still had heating and food, they could live somewhat safely. They played in the big hallways and checked on humans every day, but after humans just became frozen, they gave up. They just hoped that humans won't turn into zombies and attack them.
Days passed, weeks passed and even two months passed, nothing happened. As they needed clothes to change, they chose to open doors and rest is already known.
"Your mom has powers?" Jacob curiously looked at them.
As Brian told them to hide their powers he just nodded. "But don't tell anyone. She is trying to save as many people possible. I fear if those few bothersome knew, there will be unneeded war. We have about one thousand survivors that live here. Later I'll ask Brian to bring me the list. Maybe, just maybe your mom is here as well."
Jacobs face lit for a moment but then he shook his head. "I shouldn't hope. Didn't you want to show me something?"
Ian nodded. Girls munched on the cake, but Jacob was not really interested in sweets. So the two of them climbed to the top level and when Ian opened the door, the sea of green could be heard.
Strangely there was the sound of chickens in the background. "Chicken?"
Ian smiled and saw Jacob dazedly looking at the plants filled with growing vegetables. On the other side was a whole room filled with sounds. Ian opened the door and pointed at a huge cage where few chickens clucked around a few dozen chickens. "Our babies. Mom said we can't eat even one. They are useful another way. Their manure is used for plants. We have enough food even without eating these."
Jacob just calmly looked at chickens and sighed. "After looking at them now alive, I wouldn't be able to eat any chicken meat. After so much death, I just can't kill any creature. Yes, I hurt that animal before and I feel sorry. But seriously, they are scary at the first moment."
Ian nodded. "You have no idea what we had to go through in the first days. But the surviving now is easier. Trust me, in future only those that work hard to grow food will be able to survive. Mom already set so many rules. Let's feed chickens and let's go down. You are tall, we have clothes for you. Take shower and let's go sleep. Tomorrow we have work to do. Of course, if you want to stay with us. If you want to live outside let us know on time."
Ian didn't plan the future for now. If Jacob's mother is alive, they will leave. He silently walked down and let Jacob take a shower.
Mia could see his solemn face and patted his head. "Mom told you to show him that place on purpose. What plan does she have is not on us to doubt? Let's go. Kids are sleepy."
With a smile, he walked behind her and went to prepare a bed for Jacob.
On the other hand, Clara saw all the creatures coming back only the one that was hurt was left behind as Liam tried to heal him. But it was hard. He looked at Clara then at the creature. "Clara, I know this is strange to ask, but can you help me."
Clara blinked in wonder. "How?"
Alex came near with serious face. "Your energy is amazing. You can use your energy to heal it. With Liam's help. It seems your ability to learn other powers makes it possible for you to grow stronger. Let him teach you. He can heal smaller creatures and humans, but such big creatures like these... Liam's power is not enough."
Clara came closer and looked at the creature. "I'll try to heal you. Can you help me? Its first time for me to try this."
The creature just hummed and rose his paw.
Clara kneeled in front of him and under Liam's help she started healing the creature. But it was easier said than done...

Things had gone relatively well for us since we’d moved in. I was spending a lot of my free time painting walls and ceilings.Xander had given me carte blanche when it came to decorating, which was nice, and not once did he say, or even appeared not to like my choices colours, so I went a little wild. I’m not really used to be given so much freedom, beyond that, he’s turning into a great enabler.
Zenobex Corporation "Young master, it's time for lunch," said Matias.
Imose woke up to the crow of the Cock. The room was dimly lit. The oil lamp glowed lazily. Getting up she picked the broom made from Palm fronds laying beside the mud bed and walked out of her hut to sweep her father's compound.Imose was an only child. Her mother had died at her birth, and her father, Chief Idemudia had refused to marry another wife for he loved his wife dearly. He raised Imose with the help of his sister who later died of a strange ailment. People called Imose cursed but to Chief Idemudia, she was his priceless jewel. The symbol of the love between him and his late wife. The night had given way for the day by the time Imose was through with sweeping the large compound. She went into her father's hut to greet him. She saw him seated on his rafter chair inhaling snuff
Wizkid's samba started playing and Shewa started crooning her finger at me to get me to come and dance.I shook my head but she insisted and dragged me up from my seat.I quickly ran behind Titi and shouted that she should help me. She took mercy on me and shielded me from Shewa. Before long Shewa got distracted.During the 'Sare wa gba' part, Shewa would run forward and back, then she followed it up with whining down low. She stood still for a few seconds, then started kick turning during samba.Kemo took notice and quickly supplied a dance step that would follow after. She bent slightly and turned her knee inward, biting her tongue as she danced. We all started brain storming the dance steps that would look good but would still be simple enough for the majority to do.The song was played on repeat and by the third listen, we had constructed an entire choreo though it was still rough around the edges. We were no longer required to pe
