I am left alone with the detective.
She took a chair from the corner and sat beside my bed.
"So let's start," she said leaning her elbows on her thighs.
"Tell me what happened that night and what did you see."
"I didn't really see much, I came..." I paused; I could hear sadness creating into my voice. I cleared my throat so that my voice doesn't betray me and continued, " Only when they were already dead".
"Ok, walk me through that night" she prompted looking at me with all her focus.
I nodded. "Its a bit hazy but I will tell you what I remember. It was a normal day, just like any other. My father cooked dinner and we ate together. We made small talk. They asked me about my school and told me the importance to keep my abilities hidden to some extent. After dinner, ..." I paused it was all hazy after that. " Since I had a school trip the day after, I went to sleep to my room early. In the middle of the night, I woke up with a jerk because I felt dreadful and sick. At that time I knew something was wrong because I get this feeling when there is death around."
"I have the ability to sense death. You know that right?" I asked her since I wasn't sure.
She shook her head and said, " No I didn't but now I do. Please continue."
"Ok, so I went outside my room to check if everything was ok. The smell of blood was all around the house, so I hurried downstairs and saw that my parents were lying lifeless. I checked tried to call for help and checked their pulse but no one came and there was no pulse. They were dead and after that, you know what happened." I completed and took a deep breath to calm my heart.
She stared at me for a few seconds as if processing my information.
"How did you not hear any sounds when all this happened?" she inquired.
"My room is on the first floor and I am a very deep sleeper since birth, mostly because of my abilities," I replied rationally.
"Ok, then. We are done here. We will do the needed on our end." She got up from the chair.
"You should take some rest. It's already noon, you will be leaving with the headmistress for the school in a few hours."
"I will, thank you. Please do tell me if you get to know anything about their murder." I said.
She gave a reassuring nod and said "I will do what I can" and went out of the room.
As soon as she leaves and I am left alone in the hospital room, I slump behind on the bed, burying my head in the pillows. I couldn't stop the tears now. They kept coming and coming for at least an hour. After that, I tried to sleep and get some rest but every time I closed my eyes, I could see my parent's dead body lying in the pool of Scarlett blood. I couldn't get the pictures off my head. At last, I gave up and decided to go and wash my face.
The next second a nurse came into the room with a pile of clothes in her hands.
"Hi, How are you feeling?"
"Fine" I replied to the standard question with the standard answer.
"You are getting discharged, the doctor will come in soon to explain the details to you and your family," she said removing the tubes from my hand.
Huh! my family, I have no family. Though I understood who she meant, the two strangers whom I just met today.
I nodded looking towards her anyways.
"You can wear these clothes. These were the only ones we had, that could fit you." She said handing me the clothes.
I took them and thanked her.
The door opened ones again and Mrs. Teresa, William and the doctor came in.
The doctor looked at me and smiled.
"You are getting discharged today. You feel alright??", he asked. Again the same question.
I nodded not in the mood to answer the same question for the hundredth time.
He continued but this time looking at William and Mrs. Teresa.
"She may feel dizzy or feverish for a few days, so I will give some medicines for that. Also, keeping in mind her circumstances, I will also give some antidepressants."
"Great," I said sarcastically before I could stop myself but seriously antidepressants like I am ever going to take those pills.
Everybody stared at me. Did they not get the sarcasm?
"Sorry, just a joke," I said explaining.
"Ok, just take it easy for a few days and then everything will be back to normal. That's all, now I will leave you all alone," he said taking his leave.
Normal. What a joke! I wanted to laugh out at the irony.
Three of us were left. There was an odd silence.
"Scarlett I know this all is very shocking for you but I am here for you. We will leave in a few minutes, you should get ready," Mrs Teresa said motioning towards the clothes in my hands.
"Oh! Right." I said getting up from the bed with a jerk. That was a very bad move because of the movement I stood up, I suddenly felt dizzy and stumbled. But before I could lose my footing, strong hands took hold of my shoulders and supported me. I looked up and found William's Blue-violet eyes staring back at me.
"Careful." He said taking his hand away as well as the warmth that his hands supplied.
"Yeah. Thanks." I mumbled and went to the bathroom without speaking another word.
I quickly changed into the clothes that the nurse gave me. The clothes were a pair of loose blue jeans and a black shirt. The clothes were odd and smelled of the hospital but who am I to complain. I washed my face but did not dare to look at myself in the mirror because I knew how I would look. I mixture of both my parents. I would most probably also have dark circles from not sleeping and red eyes from crying, but I really didn't care right now.
I opened the door of the washroom to find only William in the room.
"My aunt is already in the car, let us go," he spoke and started to go out of the room motioning me to follow.
I nodded and followed him.
The car was sleek black and beautiful. It radiated power. The headmistress was already sitting in the front with a man, most probably the driver. William and I got seated in the back portion of the car.
Our portion looked like a small luxurious cabin with two seats facing each other. There was also a Tv, a mini fridge and a small bookshelf.
I sat on one of the seats and William took the other one. As soon as we were seated, the car started.
It was a long ride. For the first hour, I just stared outside the window because if I looked at William I would have to make small talk. After the day or rather the week I had, I didn't feel like talking to anybody. I needed time to absorb all the changes in my life, at the same time making sure I don't go into a spiral downhill thinking about the murderer, so I decided to occupy my mind on different lines. I wondered about the school. How would the new school be? Hopefully, I was not going to a haunted house. How would the other students be?
"Don't worry, the school will be nice and the students too." He said smiling knowingly.
"How did you know what I was thinking?" I paused and then continued confused, "Can you read minds?"
H laughed loudly. It was a nice laugh. Oh! Oh! Control your mind, Scarlett.
"No, though that would be a nice superpower and as for how I knew your question, I could see it on your face."
"You could?" I asked. That's the first, most of the people aren't able to see through me.
"Ya," he said.
We went back to staring outside the window again. One hour passed and then another.
I was bored and tired.
"How much more time is it going to take for us to reach the boarding school?" I asked
"Two hours more."
"Uhh," I said frustrated, then my eyes went to the bookshelf.
"Can I take a book?" I asked William.
"Yes, you can." He said simply.
I picked up the first book that I found and started reading it but even the book didn't interest time today. One hour passed and still, we were nowhere near. When the hell are we going to reach?
My head had started aching now and I felt beyond exhausted. I put the book down and closed my eyes resting my head on the seat. I could feel William's concerned stare but I didn't want to open my eyes again or talk. Before I knew it, the darkness engulfed me.

Things had gone relatively well for us since we’d moved in. I was spending a lot of my free time painting walls and ceilings.Xander had given me carte blanche when it came to decorating, which was nice, and not once did he say, or even appeared not to like my choices colours, so I went a little wild. I’m not really used to be given so much freedom, beyond that, he’s turning into a great enabler.
Zenobex Corporation "Young master, it's time for lunch," said Matias.

Wizkid's samba started playing and Shewa started crooning her finger at me to get me to come and dance.I shook my head but she insisted and dragged me up from my seat.I quickly ran behind Titi and shouted that she should help me. She took mercy on me and shielded me from Shewa. Before long Shewa got distracted.During the 'Sare wa gba' part, Shewa would run forward and back, then she followed it up with whining down low. She stood still for a few seconds, then started kick turning during samba.Kemo took notice and quickly supplied a dance step that would follow after. She bent slightly and turned her knee inward, biting her tongue as she danced. We all started brain storming the dance steps that would look good but would still be simple enough for the majority to do.The song was played on repeat and by the third listen, we had constructed an entire choreo though it was still rough around the edges. We were no longer required to pe
