chapter 44

bought the book and was on my way back home until I found out that my driver had gone missing, I kept on looking around to find my car but it was nowhere to be found, so without any hope left I just started walking towards my home as it was not that far away.

I was holding the book against my chest as if was the most precious thing to me in the whole universe and lost in my own world.

As I looked at the setting gun I realised that I had spent so much time in the library that it was about to get dark and I was still not that close to home.

I fastened my pace a bit because you know why? Is not safe for a 14-year-old like me to wander around on a deserted street at this time, it's basic knowledge every normal child has but I don't blame you, abnormalities can be found everywhere so don't be sad.

So as I walked through the alley!!! Now, don't you start judging me again for not having even a slight shame of walking an alley after teaching you about safety, it's just that  I was taking a shortcut.  Now, where was I? Yes so as I walked through the alley, it was still not dark as the sun was still in the process of setting.

I was still walking at a fast pace but when I saw some people in a distance I felt a little unsafe so I slowed down and tried to analyze that what kind of people they really were but they turned out to be three boys near to my age so I threw away the fear and walked like I owned the street, I got closer and closer to them with each step I took but something didn't seem to be right. something was quite off with them so I stopped at a distance and started observing them.

They were dressed very thinly and the air right now wasn't that of summer wind, it was quite cold out here, the two of the boys looked like a carbon-copy of each other yet the third one seemed to be quite younger than them. They were sitting on the doorstep of a house. As the cold wind blew I heard the small boy's teeth clatter with cold. Then a man came out of the house and he didn't seem to be in his right state of mind he was drunk, he looked around and then turned towards the little one and grabbed him from the arm.

"Where is the money?" He grasped the little hand with such force that the kid's facial expression turned sour, he wanted to protest but wasn't able to go against the man, even though the two other boys tried to fight him back their thin physic didn't let them do it and it was now my time to shine as I was the only other person that could protect them now.

I knew that even I myself wouldn't be able to deal with him but I couldn't bear seeing kids get bullied so I without thinking ran in the direction of the man and jumped into the air, At which he let go of the kid's hand and turned towards me, I successfully landed a kick on his chest on which he fell on the ground. I took the kid's hand who was going to get hit and instructed the others to follow me because I knew the man would get up any moment and make a fine powder out of my bones, so to avoid such misfortune I preferred to run away. No matter how well trained I was still a 14 years old girl.

Gladly the other boys understood my instruction and ran away with me. We ran very fast and within a short, while I could see the gates of the mansion, we reached the mansion and so did the man, When the gatekeeper saw me in such a hurry the opened the gate for me and all four of us went inside while shutting the gate after us.

"You filthy bastard come out so I can skin you alive," the drunk man said furiously "you good for nothing kids come out of there and make me some money " as he continued cursing he didn't quite know what he got himself into because while he was cursing a group of overprotective guards who were hired for me by Scarface appeared and were now circling him from all directions and after that what happened, is not something I can explain in words.

While the guards were taking care of the man, we were safely taken inside the mansion. now that we were out of the situation it got awkward all of a sudden we stood there staring at each other for a while so I broke the silence and introduced my self first.

"I am Stella Ford and I live here" That was the beast I could come up with in such an awkward situation.

"I am ..... Edgard and he is my twin brother Alfred and as for him he is our younger brother Theodore." Edgard said with a long pause in between his sentence.

"Nice to meet you" And boom there was silence again so in order to continue the conversation I asked about the man from a whole ago.

"Who was the man that was running after us," I asked but the faces of their distorted at this so I had to apologise if I made them feel bad

"You don't have to tell me I was just..."

"He is our adoptive father" Theo was the one who answered me with his sweet voice

" So what are you gonna do now, I don't think he will accept you back" I was seriously worried now that I had found out there relation with the man my men just beat up.

"We are going back to the orphanage " Ed replied

I was going to ask other questions but then a huge grumbling sound was heard from all four stomachs yes including me, so as we heard that everybody blushed due to embarrassment but that didn't last for long as the chef had already prepared the meal, so I invited them to eat with me.

When we were eating dinner , I noticed that it was my first time eating like this , I never had anybody to eat with me so I was happy and I didn't realise that my eyes had already teared up and then tears came to my eyes. the emotion was so overpowering that I couldn't resist it and I started crying like a baby. And then out of nowhere came Mr Scarface and due to his arrival, the kids got scared to hell.

" What happened Master are you alright?" He was worried at the sight of me crying and he got the wrong idea about the situation but I was too busy crying so I couldn't explain anything to him properly.

"It's not their fault I just want a family, who is with me all the time, eat with me, play with me , why can't I have a family, even they have someone they can call family,  what's the use of money when I can't even be happy waaa waa " I took out all my frustration as I continued crying. Suddenly some hugged me and when I looked up it was Theo he said with his already pink eyes.

"Don't cry I will be your family,if you cry I will cry as well (sniff)" he was trying hard to keep his tears in and then the dam burst and we both started crying while hugging each other.

When we were busy in our own world both of us were picked up as if we were nothing " I am sorry Master I should have known about your feelings, I am sorry I failed as a servant" and that was the moment he hugged both of us and started crying and soon all the mansion was crying.

It was morning I woke up and saw my eyes they were swollen because of the last night's melodrama but one thing I was very happy about was, I got three brothers overnight. Mr scarface said he would do the paperwork and then we will legally become siblings I was so happy and so was Theo and Ed but I noticed that Al didn't like talking much he just nodded as an approval. I skipped school today and tomorrow all three of us were going to the school together. Both the twins were my age and Theo was still 10 so he was still going to be homeschooled as we didn't want to feel alone at the school.

When I went downstairs and saw Al sitting at the dining table, so I rushed towards my new found brother and hugged the life out of him, he was still so slim that I could put my hands around him twice (wink)just exaggerating he was just thin.

I thought he would push me aside as he was a bit cold in nature but I was fully prepared for the results but that didn't happen he hugged me back.

"Hello sis did you sleep well," he said with a smile
