"I am so scared," She shakes her hands afraid looking at her gay friend,
"Honey, we're going to be great. Don't worry," Nick says trying to comfort her,
"I hope so," she takes a peek to see who's there. She panics when she sees Edward. Her celebrity crush,
"Oh my god. Edward is here," she starts panicking again,
"Of course he's here. Did you not expect him to be here?" Nick asks in a duh tone,
"I did, but he looks extremely good. Oh my god," she fans her face with her hand to stop the sweats rolling down her forehead,
"Hey, hey, look at me," Nick continues once she looks at him, "Take a deep breath. Breathe in...and out," he takes a deep breath with her,
"We've practiced. We will be alright," He tells her and walks out with her following behind once everyone was settled in.
"Hello everyone, glad we can see everyone settled in. Food and drinks are everywhere. Help yourselves. Awards will start after a brief introduction."
Nick puts the microphone away once he got his own. The dancers come out as the lights dim in. Dancers get in their positions while Nick and Sally do the same.
Sally puts her head up and starts singing. Everyone starts cheering her up. Her voice is angelic. The lights go back up once the dancers start dancing as Nick and Sally also do.
Sweats roll down Nick and Sally's face repeatedly after 30 minutes of singing and dancing. They finished their last song with the smile on their faces barely visible. Everyone gave them a standing ovation. After 30 seconds of applauding, they sat back down as Nick and Sally went backstage with the dancers to change up and get a drink.
"Good job guys, you did amazing!" Nick says to the dancers as they go to their changing room. They give him a smile before leaving.
"Okay, that was amazing I have to admit. You were right. We did amazing," Sally says greatly astonished,
"When have I ever been wrong?" Nick says wiping the imaginary dust off his shirt,
"Don't be so full of yourself," Sally says slapping him slightly.
Whilst their conversation, Edward is completely impressed with their performance. Specifically Sally. He is amazed by her moves, her voice, her beauty. He is completely attracted to her. Little does Sally know...
Sally and Harry walk back out after changing up and getting drinks.
"Hope everyone enjoyed the performance cause there is yet to be another one," Sally says slightly chuckling as the crowd does the same.
"So, we're going to continue straight to the awards now," Nick says flipping the page,
"#1 best artist of the year...Edward William," Sally says getting excited to see him up close.
Everyone applauds as Edward walks up the stairs to get his award. Nick and Sally stood there with the biggest smile on their faces as they waited for him to come up the stage.
"Great job!" Sally says as he takes the award from her hands with a small thank you.
They finished the awards an hour later with the crowd applauding for each person getting an award. Edward ends up getting more than 5 awards.
"We will be back after 30 minutes of break," Nick says as they put their microphones down and go down to meet some of the celebrities.
Sally's hands start shaking with each step she's taking.
"Sally, you got this. We rocked the performance. Which means you can do this. Let's go now," Nick says as she nods in between.
They walk through the crowd meeting everyone. They say hi to most of the people in the crowd.
Sally and Nick walk over to Edward, Sally's heart beating thousands per minute. Nick rubs her back softly to make her feel calmer.
"Wow, more than 5 awards. Impressive," Sally says to start a conversation with Edward, but suddenly regrets it.
"Thank you! Great performance both of you," he says smiling back,
"Thank you! It's great to meet you Edward, but I am going to have to go. They might need me backstage. But Sally will stay here and chat with you," Nick says pushing Sally forward.
Sally gives him a death glare mumbling his name with gritted teeth.
Nick instead rubs her back and gives her a reassuring smile before leaving the two in awkward silence.
"So..." Sally says awkwardly,
"So...you look amazing," Edward says pointing at her dress, trying to make things less awkward,
"Thank you! So do you. You always do," the last sentence slips out of her mouth before she could stop them,
"I mean..." she quickly says trying to change what has already escaped her mouth,
"You too. You've looked amazing since the beginning," he says in a low voice making her weak,
"Thank you!" she says slowly in a whisper,
"Are you okay? You're sweating," Edward says pointing to her face as she blushes.
'Get a grip Sally' she tells herself before answering,
"Yeah of course. I have been practicing my dance moves and you know, it's pretty hot in here. I am okay," she smiles before continuing, "Do you...want to get a drink?"
"Yeah, yeah," he says gesturing her to go first. They walk through the crowd as Edward asks her about her life.
They talk for a while after getting a drink before they fell into an uncomfortable silence again having nothing to say to each other.
Words slip Sally's mouth again before she could stop them. More embarrassing ones this time, "I like you,"
"I like you too. You're pretty cool," Edward says chuckling, surprised with her sudden words,
"No I mean I like you. Romantically," she whispers the last part putting her head down in embarrassment,
"I am sorry?" Edward says in an amused tone,
"Never mind. Sorry," she smiles before walking away.
Edward grabs her by her forearm stopping her from walking away before asking,
"Sally, would you like to go out with me?"
