chapter 56

  I've always wanted to do several things but I wasn't really bold to do even one of these things. I even made a bucket list of things I wanted to do when I turn 16, but I threw it in the trash literally 10 minutes later. That doesn't mean that I don't remember what I wrote, it was something like this;

#1) Get extreme makeover

#2) Get a change of wardrobe

#3) Go partying with Toni and Tonia

#4) Dance with a sexy guy

#5) Get intimate with a hot guy at school 

#6) Attend a bon fire party

#7) Tell Rex Perez you LOVE him 

I had looked at the list last week and sighed as I threw it in the trash because I knew the truth -  I'm too scared to try new things and I'm way too shy for that. 

I think I'll just stick to being the school's smartest kid and biggest loner! At least I do that very well. 

I hear Toni playing really loud music from her room and yell at her to turn it off.

Tony is my cousin, she's the same age as me . Like me, she has brown hair and blue eyes and a petit statue but unlike me, she's jovial, has tons of friends,  she even has a boyfriend! 

She's never relented on constantly bothering me to be more girly and to " stop dressing like a hobo ". I know now that she knows I'm awake, she'll be here soon, telling me stuff I really don't care about.

" Hey!" She says as she slams my door open and lays on my bed.

" Why do you do this?!"

" Do what?" She says holding back laughter.

" If you wanna wake me up, don't use such crazy and loud music to do the trick" I say as I get up and look at myself in the mirror. My hair is a complete mess, my eyes are swollen, my face and lips pale - I just look horrible.

" The music is the only thing that wakes you up, you sleep like you're hibernating!" She says , laughing this time around.

" No, I don't"

" You so do!" Tiana -my sister, says standing by my door, arms crossed.

" How are you ever gonna get Rex or any guy at all to notice you?" She says staring at me like my case was hopeless.

" I don't want to" I say as I walk into my bathroom room, take my toothbrush and spread a pea size of toothpaste on it.

" Yeah right!" Toni says.

" You  need to be different this semester, you're gonna be sixteen soon! "  I hear Tiana say as I brush my teeth. She seems to be on my bed now, because her voice sounds muffled - like she's talking in my pillow. Now that I think about it, I don't even know how I heard what she said! I rinse my mouth, keep my toothbrush and toothpaste and go to my bed.

" You guys act like I'm not a normal human being" I say, laughing.

"Tori, I'm 15, I've got friends, got a thriving social life, not to brag but, I've also got a boyfriend - that's what's normal" Toni says with both of her hands on my shoulders.

" You gotta try that out, it's more fun than going for quizzes and spelling bees or whatever it is you nerd out on"

" I have an idea" I say with so much excitement.They both stare at me expectantly.

" How about you two mind your business and leave me alone, wouldn't that be exciting!"

" You're an idiot" they both say with an eye roll as I laugh. 

" Whatever"

" How about you accompanie me to the salon huh?" Toni says as she sits up, with her hands clasped.

" So your hairdresser will forcefully do my hair? No thanks! I won't fall for that this time around, besides my hair isn't that bad" Toni and Tiana gasp at my comments and then shake their heads.

" Tori, you need an iron hand"

" Toni, just leave me alone"

" Suit yourself, I'm going to Luca's today and I want my hair perfect, so I'm gonna go alone"

" Great, thank God you're no longer with that jerk - Nate" I say.

"I was never with him" she says with a fake smile.

" Sure " Tiana says sarcastically and I laugh.

" If it wasn't for Tori, you'd still have been dating him now" she adds.

" Okay, whatever"

" I need to take a shower" I say. They both look at each other for a while and then they start using their phones. I sigh because I  know they aren't going to give me some privacy. I take off my clothes and tie my towel around my chest before I enter my bathroom.

After I take my bath, I open my closet and something worst than confusion hits me. I look in the closet and then I look at Toni and Tiana. They are both holding back laughter which means they are behind this horrible act!

" What the hell you guys! Where are my clothes!!"

" Please tell me you haven't forgotten our deal" Tiana says, smiling mischievously.

" What deal? " I ask, though I think I know what she's talking about. It was last year when I accidentally ruined her birthday cake because I saw Rex and it looked like he was coming towards me. I freaked out and walked backwards, completely oblivious of the fact that the cake was right behind me. It fell on her (since it was a large cake) and Tiana was mad at me for an entire week . That's when I made the deal, I told her that I'd let her change my wardrobe if she forgives me and she agreed. I really couldn't believe she was doing this.

" Your birthday is two days from now, and I thought I give you a little sneak peek into what I have in store for you"

" No, Tiana I - I can't wear these! Where are m-my clothes?" I say stuttering a little.

" Mom, threw them in the trash, she's in support of my idea for your birthday"

" All these clothes are really - "

" - fabulous right?" She asks as she holds out a denim mini skirt and grins at me.

" I don't like this, it isn't my birthday yet. How can I wear this to school tomorrow?"

" Not my business, you promised you'd let me do whatever I want with you when you're sixteen so.... Anyway, on Tuesday you're having your hair done and your nails as well - no delays!" She says as she tosses the mini skirt to me and then leaves.

" Toni"

"I support her, it's about time you tried being sexy for once. Trust me , when we're done with you even Rex will run after you and you'll get tired!" She says and then she leaves my room.

This isn't funny at all.
