Chapter 22 Pay the Bill Before You Go, Thank You

In the Public Relations Department—

The manager of the department clapped her hands for silence. “Attention please! Let me introduce our new colleague, Miss Su Ziyue.”

Just at that moment, some clerks began to mutter. One said, “I remember that the little granddaughter of the chairman of the board is called Su Ziyue, right?”

“Yes. This is exactly her. It can't be wrong. Many years ago I have seen her once when I firstly came here...” the other answered.

The manager sternly uttered, “Silence! Or no bonus for the next month!”

All at once, the whole department was quiet. No one dared speak a word.

Standing next to the manager, Su Ziyue realized she was a tough nut.

Su Ziyue stepped forward. She smiled slightly and greeted them with somewhat of an aloof tone, "Nice to meet you all. I'm Su Ziyue."

Su Yige put a hand on Su Ziyue's shoulder gently. She said with a smile, “Some of you may know Ziyue before. This time she is here for her internship. She particularly chooses the PR Department to share your burden.”

Su Ziyue's smile disappeared gradually. She darted a squint at Su Yige, saying nothing.

Su Yige turned to stare nastily at Su Ziyue but her voice was still gentle and warm, “Ziyue may be a bit spoiled. Please take care of her. She is my cousin, but don't keep her free for my sake, otherwise it would be awkward for me.”

The manager replied with a smile, “All right. Director Su.”

“Well, I'll take your word for it." Su Yige smiled back at the manager. Then she said to Su Ziyue, "You shall behave well in the department. Don't let grandpa and me down.”

Su Ziyue curled up her lips, “Take it easy. I won't let you down.”

Su Yige was stung by Su Ziyue's confident smile.

Su Yige had tried hundreds of times to ruin Su Ziyue.

However, to her disappointment, Su Ziyue always survived in the last minute and became even stronger.

Nevertheless, this time she was determined to succeed. ‘Su Group is my place. It’s just a piece of cake for me to destroy Su Ziyue.’

Su Yige left. The manager showed Su Ziyue to her desk and gave her a pile of documents.

“Read these first so that you can understand what we’re doing recently. You may ask me or other colleagues if you have any questions.”

The manager said to her and left.

Su Ziyue quailed a bit at the sight of the thick pile of documents before her.

It was lunchtime, but she had not finished yet.

Her neck ached.

She looked around, only to find two or three people left in the office.

Su Ziyue felt hungry and got out to find a restaurant nearby.

She saw Su Yige and Su Youcheng having lunch together as she walked into the restaurant. They talked every now and then. The atmosphere between them was quite harmonious.

Su Ziyue was a bit envy, but only for a moment.

She walked towards them. Su Yige saw her first and asked, “Ziyue, you’re here for lunch, too?”

“Yeah, but I didn’t expect that grandpa and you were also here.” Then Su Ziyue turned to Su Youcheng and asked, “Grandpa, may I join you?”

Su Youcheng was not happy to see her. But there were many people around them so he had to agreed, “Sit as you like! You don’t need to ask me!”

Su Ziyue didn’t mind his attitude at all. The more they hated her and did not take her as their family, the more she was determined to spoil their pleasure.

She called the waiter and began to order.

Su Youcheng was not willing to stay with her. Lucky for him, he had finished his lunch, so he just stood up and left.

Su Yige was keen on face-saving. Although she also wanted to go, she couldn’t leave Su Ziyue alone, or people would think she was indifferent to her little cousin. Therefore, unwillingly, she kept Su Ziyue company.

“If you want to go, just go. But pay the bill before you go. Thank you.” Su Ziyue smirked at Su Yige.

“Are you not going home anymore? Do you really fall in love with that poor guy?” Su Yige spoke to her with a sneer.

Suddenly, Su Ziyue looked up at Su Yige and stuffed a piece of dessert into Su Yige’s mouth before she realized what happened. And then Su Ziyue smiled warmly but said coldly, “It’s none of your business. Just shut your stupid mouth!”

Some workers in the Su Group only saw their interactions without hearing what they said. They were surprised as they thought, ‘Wow, the two ladies of the Su Clan are really close.’

Su Yige scowled and swallowed the dessert, but next moment she had to put on a smile at Su Ziyue. In fact, she was on the edge of hitting the roof.

Su Yige really could not stay there anymore. She stood up and was ready to go.

Su Ziyue was adding fuel to the fire. “Thank you for your treat, my dear cousin. Next time it’s on me,” she spoke out loudly on purpose in a naughty voice.

Su Yige stumbled, almost falling to the ground. She walked towards the cashier and took out of a stack of money. “Keep the change.” she said.

Su Yige left. Su Ziyue stopped smiling. She looked at the food, having no appetite at all.

She missed Qin Muchen’s cooking.

Just at that moment, her phone rang.

Su Ziyue was somewhat relieved at the sight of “my husband” on the screen. Being hesitant for a while, she finally got the phone.

“Did you have your lunch?” Qin Muchen asked as soon as the phone was picked up.

His voice brightened her mood magically. But she answered without showing it, “Just finished.”

“How's your first day at work so far?”

“Just so-so.”

“I’ll pick you up after work.” He was not asking, but telling her.

“Don’t…”

“I’m a bit busy now. Bye. See you tonight.”

Then he hung up.

Su Ziyue stared at her phone. ‘Wasn’t he the one who said he liked me and wanted to be with me for the rest of his life? How could he hang up before me!’ she said to herself.

It was four hours and more before she could get off work.

Su Ziyue read those documents the whole day. She was a bit dizzy when she’s off duty.

When she approached the gate of the company, she saw a lot of people gathering in front of the company and watching something.

Following their gaze, she saw Qin Muchen leaning against his car.

Qin Muchen lifted his head and looked around. He saw her and waved at her.

Su Ziyue stopped for a while. She couldn’t believe he really came to pick her up.

Then she walked forward, noticing the car he drove today was the limited-edition Rolls Royce, the one which had been scratched by her.

“Are you tired?” Thinking she walked too slowly, Qin Muchen walked towards her and asked.

At this moment, Su Ziyue saw another car parking next to them. Gong Zeyang stepped out of the car. Their eyes met. Both of them froze.
