Qin Muchen followed her, asking, “Why don’t you go inside?”

“It doesn’t look like my home. Let me check whether we are on the wrong floor.” With a sulky face, Su Ziyue turned to check the floor.

Qin Muchen was amused with a flicker of smile in his eyes. He said nothing and went straight inside.

As he expected, a moment later, Su Ziyue stormed into the room, walked straight toward him and pointed at her transformed apartment as she yelled, “What did you do to my apartment?!”

“Don’t you think it is more spacious now?” he asked back.

Su Ziyue’s house used to be a two-bedroom apartment. But now the walls and doors were removed as two bedrooms were transformed into a single larger one. There’s only one bed in this room and something new was added.

The kitchen was turned into an open one. The whole apartment was just like a new one and completely different from what it used to be.

“Spacious? The street is spacious enough for you!” Su Ziyue was no longer calm and cold. The transformation of the apartment made her fly into a rage.

Qin Muchen was far calmer than she was. There was even a successful smile flickering in his eyes but he covered it up very well.

Yet he pretended to be serious and said, “If you lock me out again, I really have to sleep on the street tonight.”

“I…”

She remembered that she locked him out on purpose last night and felt a bit guilty about it, but she still argued, “There was another bed in the next room!”

“We’re just married. How can we sleep in separate rooms?” Qin Muchen simply retorted back with what she had said the other day.

Biting her lips, Su Ziyue was speechless.

Qin Muchen promptly gave her a quick peck on the lips and said, “Well, go take a shower. I’ll cook.”

But Qin Muchen, who was laughing, had already turned into the kitchen before she could react. Su Ziyue stood frozen, blushing.

‘I should have slapped him on the face.’ she said to herself.

But actually, she just did as he told and went into the bathroom with her clothes in her arms.

In the kitchen, Qin Muchen lifted his head at the sound of closing bathroom door. A significant smile showed at the corners of his mouth.

‘Just a little girl.’ he thought. He could totally handle her.

At dinner time, Qin Muchen served the meal, stewed beef with tomatoes. Su Ziyue forced herself not to eat it.

However, at this moment, Qin Muchen put a piece of beef into her bowl.

She stopped short and said, “I don’t like beef.”

“I know. But it is nutritious and good for your health.” he looked up at her calmly, as if he really took her word for it.

Finally, Su Ziyue couldn't help but ask him, “Why do you always put up with my bad temper? Why aren’t you mad at me?”

Putting down his chopsticks, Qin Muchen answered concisely, “Because I’m your husband.”

“But we don’t have an emotional foundation and there’s no love between us. You know what? I married you just because my grandfather said he would give me the share as long as I could get married. No one in Yunzhou City would marry me. But you’re so gullible. As soon as I asked, you said yes.”

Su Ziyue said in one breath. And when she looked at Qin Muchen who paused for a moment, she didn’t know what he was going to react.

She was not ready to spend her life with someone yet. She got married just because she had to.

However, Qin Muchen was different. He was patient and tolerant. He even said he would spend the rest of his life with her. All of these made her scared.

“It doesn’t matter. I really want to marry you. I mean it.”

He looked deep into her eyes, yet Su Ziyue couldn’t figure out what he was thinking.

“Don’t you understand? I’m just using you to get that marriage license!” She began to feel guilty. ‘Leaving that night alone, he is actually a nice man,’ she thought.

Suddenly he laughed. “It’s my pleasure to be used by you,” he said.
