Chapter 28 You Can't Sleep with the Light On

Qin Muchen gave her a significant smile, "Oh? I see. You are 'not' thinking about me."

"…" Su Ziyue's face blushed with a little embarrassment. Now she just wanted to find a place to hide. Her clumsy denial completely revealed her thoughts and he wouldn’t buy a word.

Suddenly, an idea occurred to her as her eyes flashed. She looked up at him competitively and said, "You're right, I am thinking about you."

"About me what?" Qin Muchen raised his eyebrows and seemed surprised.

"I was wondering why you, being an Alpha Male, are afraid of darkness." Su Ziyue showed a bright smile and stared at him provocatively.

Qin Muchen's face darkened. Although he tried to maintain expressionless, but she guessed that he must be gnashing his teeth inside.

"It's getting late. I'm going to take a shower." Su Ziyue winked at him with her innocent eyes. She swiftly bent over, squatted down under his arms and quickly found a chance to get out of his constraint.

Locking up the bathroom door, Su Ziyue couldn't help but smirk. 'It's so funny to tease him and make him mad.'

Qin Muchen, however, took a glance at the bathroom, and felt relaxed instead.

When she got out of the bathroom, he was sitting on the sofa watching TV. The television was playing ethics drama, the kind that talks about relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law and family war, and that only girls would be interested in.

If she hadn't spent all these days with him and known that he was a real man. She would really take him as a sissy man.

Hearing the sound of her coming out of the bathroom, Qin Muchen didn't turn his head, "You've done?"

Su Ziyue admired his multitasking. "Um…" she replied awkwardly. And then she jumped onto the bed and covered herself with the quilt.

A moment later, the sound of the television stopped and the water splashing sound was heard from the bathroom.

Su Ziyue closed her eyes, but had no drowsiness at all.

After a while, the sound of water in the bathroom stopped. And then she felt someone was pulling her quilt. She clutched it tightly, but the man was clearly very persistent.

Finally, her quilt was pulled aside by him. She sat up and shouted angrily, "Qin Muchen, what the hell are you going to…"

Seeing a hair dryer held in his hand, Su Ziyue was suddenly at a loss for words.

Qin Muchen, neglecting her attitude, said calmly, "You need to dry your hair before you go to sleep."

Since he had been very patient to her, she turned her head against him involuntarily.

Qin Muchen, who did not give her opportunity to decline, directly plugged in the hairdryer, patted the edge of the bed and suggested her to come over, "Lie down and spread out your hair."

Looking at his calm face, Su Ziyue found no excuse to decline his keenness, so she did as he said.

With the man’s fingers running through her hairs gently, a strange feeling was rising up in her heart. She was a little bit nervous with her hands clenching the quilt.

Qin Muchen sat on the bed. His face was right above her eyes. Therefore, as long as she looked up, there he was. She felt uneasy as she didn't know where to look.

By the time her hair was dried, she began to feel sleepy.

The buzzing sound by the ear disappeared as he turned off the hair dryer. But Qin Muchen did not get up to leave.

Su Ziyue lifted her eyes to see what he was doing. Her eyes accidentally met his deep ones. She felt burning on her face. But next moment, she checked out where exactly he was staring at and realized the collar of her pajamas was open. He was looking there.

Just as she was about to curse, Qin Muchen suddenly approached her and kissed her on the forehead. "Go to sleep," he said.

Su Ziyue froze for a while. The kiss on her forehead felt hot, as if there had been flame on it.

When he put up the hair dryer and lay down on the bed, her face was still red and hot.

And when she saw Qin Muchen reached out his hand to turn off the light, she realized he was afraid of the dark, so she immediately stopped him, "Keep the light on."

Qin Muchen paused, but still turned off the light. In the dark she could not see his expression. But his clear and pleasant voice was heard, "It's okay. That day I was uncomfortable with a sudden dark. Besides, you can't sleep with the light on."

He knew exactly what she thought.

There was a time when she thought he was pissed by her laughing at his fear of the dark. But now he said it openly. 'Does it mean he's not angry about it at all?' wondered Su Ziyue.

She asked him tentatively, "Have you been busy lately?"

The room was quiet as no one responded. Su Ziyue felt a little regret to ask this question. What if he knew she was curious about the reason why he came back so late yesterday? 'Will he mock me?' she wondered.

After a while, Qin Muchen's vague voice came, "Yesterday I indeed got a lot of work to do in the company, so I didn't make breakfast that morning and came back late at night. I should have told you beforehand. I didn't know you were waiting for me."

Su Ziyue quietly listened to his explain, but quickly denied his last sentence, "I was not waiting for you. I just fell asleep watching TV."

But Qin Muchen was sure that she was waiting for him. He promised seriously, "Well, next time if I have to work late, I'll tell you in advance. And you don't have to wait for me."

It happened to be Friday. When it was approaching the off-duty time, Ann Xia came to her office with a mysterious smile, "Let's hang out after work."

Su Ziyue was still working. She asked without lifting her head, "Where are we going?"

Ann Xia gave her a pleasing smile, "You'll see when you get there."

After work, Su Ziyue was dragged out by Ann Xia. Recently, Qin Muchen was a little bit busy, so he couldn’t pick her up.

The day was shorter in late summer as sun went down faster.

When they got out of the car, it's already dark.

"Here we are! Today, let’s have a good time together."

Ann Xia quickly pulled Su Ziyue into a bar. Su Ziyue couldn't even see the name of the bar clearly.

Into the bar, there were a lot of people already.

Ann Xia asked for two bottles of beer, pulling Su Ziyue to the dance floor.

However, Su Ziyue was not the person that loved to play. She rarely came to the bar, not even when she was abroad. What's more, the bars at home and abroad were quite different. Thus, she was hesitating, "Xiaxia...

Ann Xia quickly interrupted her, "We've been busy all the time. It's a good chance to relax. Besides, you don't have to be such a well-behaved girl only for your husband's sake."

Su Ziyue did not enter the dance floor eventually. Instead she just found a place to sit down and drank the beer. But the moment she was seated, a voice came from the other side, "This way please, Young Master Mu."

Su Ziyue winced, 'What are the odds?! As long as I come out and play, there is Mu Ninghui again!'

She looked up, seeing a group of people walking inside with Mu Ninghui. The music was so loud in the bar that she couldn't hear what they were saying.

Su Ziyue thought for a little bit, and then decided to find Ann Xia. But as she just got up, Mu Ninghui was looking over here.
