Chapter 25 Qin Muchen’s Fear of the Dark

“I know.” Qin Muchen mumbled, with noodles in his mouth.

Sitting across from him, Su Ziyue blushed.

That was the noodles she left. She was astonished that he didn’t mind that.

Qin Muchen looked up at her. Noticing her astonishment, he said, “Why? I don't mind it's your leftover. Why do you mind so much?”

“Nothing.” Su Ziyue stood up immediately. She walked towards the bathroom in a hurry, saying, “I'm gonna take a shower.”

In the bathroom, Su Ziyue was in a daze under the shower nozzle.

‘Qin Muchen...’

‘It seems that he does really like me...’ Su Ziyue was deep in her thought.

All of a sudden, "click!" The light was off. The warm water was getting cold.

It was summer now, but she was still shivering at the cold water. There were bubbles all over her. She had no choice but to clean the bubbles with cold water in the dark.

“Su Ziyue!”

Qin Muchen's voice came from outside the bathroom.

Su Ziyue finished at a faster pace and fumbled and seized her bath towel in the dark.

“Is the power out?” Su Ziyue asked while groping her way to the door in the dark.

No answer. She opened the door and next second was startled to see a huge shadow in front of her. She asked tentatively, “Qin Muchen?”

The shadow kind of moved and suddenly drew her into his arms.

Su Ziyue wore only a bath towel and was held so tightly by Qin Muchen. The towel was about to fall off.

“Let go of me first.” Su Ziyue punched him on the shoulder without using much strength.

It appeared that Qin Muchen was turned on by her soft punch somehow. He suddenly bent over to find her lips and kissed fiercely.

In the dark, at the bathroom door, they were so close to each other.

Su Ziyue felt Qin Muchen was somewhat abnormal in the moment. She paused for a while. Then she came to realize what’s going on between them and started to struggle to get rid of him.

However, her struggle was nothing compared to Qin Muchen's strength. She couldn't get rid of him at all.

“Qin Muchen, what's the matter with you!” Su Ziyue twisted her head and cried out his name.

Qin Muchen stopped short. Suddenly he let go of her.

However, it was not long before Su Ziyue was fully relieved. Qin Muchen scooped her and walked towards the bed.

Su Ziyue was thrown in bed. It did not hurt, but she was scared. She sat bolt upright. “Qin Muchen, what are you doing? Talk to me!”

Finally, Qin Muchen said, “I’m doing what a couple is supposed to do.” His voice was cold and hoarse.

“You’ve said you won’t force me to do that.” Su Ziyue groped her way to the corner.

Qin Muchen came closer to her. “You’ll soon be willing to.”

Something struck Su Ziyue. She bit her lip and asked, “Are you afraid of the dark?”

A silence fell on the room.

After a long time, Qin Muchen answered composedly, “No.”

‘Nonsense! Everything was fine before the power went out.’ Su Ziyue thought.

“Come to me. I’ll hold you to sleep. Don’t be afraid.” Su Ziyue was relieved. He hesitated for so long before answering. It was obvious that he was afraid of the dark, which explained his change.

“I’m fine.” Qin Muchen calmed himself down. His voice was quite steady as if nothing had happened.

Su Ziyue did not buy a word of that.

She found her cellphone and got out of the bed. She found a flashlight and turned it on, putting it on the bedside table. Then she returned to the bathroom and got her pajamas on.

She walked out of the bathroom, only to find the flashlight was off.

'That’s true. Qin Muchen is definitely afraid of the dark.’

He turned off the light before she came back to prove that he was not afraid. However, this was against his usual behavior. He was considerate. He would have waited for her with the light on, but he didn’t.

‘Why did he refuse to admit it? To protect his manhood?’ she thought.

Su Ziyue crawled onto the bed as quietly as she could. She came next to Qin Muchen and held him round the waist.

Qin Muchen was not asleep yet. He didn’t expect that Su Ziyue would hug him of her free will. His body stiffened for a while, then he moved away from her a little.

Su Ziyue couldn’t help smiling. She didn’t expect he would be afraid of the dark. After all, he had always been cool, powerful and reasonable.

‘The reason why he refuses to admit it must be to maintain his manhood.’

The more she thought of this, the more she was amused. She came to Qin Muchen closer to carry out what she had said before, holding him to sleep.

Finally, Qin Muchen said in exasperation, “Su Ziyue, do you really think I won’t do anything to you?”

“Well, the dark is so scary. Let me hold you. Don’t be afraid.” Su Ziyue teased.

Qin Muchen drew her to his arms. “We’re legally married now, so whatever happens between us this night is rightful in law. What do you think I’m thinking about?” said him through gritted teeth.

Su Ziyue stopped. She dared not speak a word.

A few seconds later, Qin Muchen continued, “Or you want to repeat what you have done last night?”

Thinking of what happened last night, Su Ziyue replied quickly, “No!”

“Are you sure?”

“…” ‘You sex maniac!’ Su Ziyue cursed inwardly.

Su Ziyue was woken up by the alarm the next morning.

She was on the bed alone. Qin Muchen was not in the room. She assumed that he must leave early.

Su Ziyue went to the kitchen after washing up. There was no breakfast.

She only lived with Qin Muchen for a couple of days, but she already got used to the breakfast he prepared.

‘What's wrong with me!’ she thought.

Thinking for a moment, she understood why he didn’t prepare the breakfast this morning.

He was annoyed, because she made fun of him for his fear of the darkness last night.

Reflecting on what she had done, she admitted that she shouldn’t have done that.

‘But, it’s really funny. How should a man like him be afraid of the dark?’

‘I’ll invite him to dinner to apologize.’

Su Ziyue made up her mind and went to work.

As soon as she arrived at the office, the manager walked to her and asked, “Did you finish the documents I gave you yesterday?”

Su Ziyue picked up one of those documents, answering, “This is the last one.”

“You need to get to know how we work for a couple of days. I’ll take you to a dinner party in a few days. Remember to bring out the best of you.” the manager said and left.

Su Ziyue was upset. It reminded her of what Su Yige had said. Su Group was doing business with Mu Group now.

She would not leave Mu Ninghui in peace, neither would him.

‘You never know what’s going to happen in the future, just wait and see.’ she said to herself.

Su Ziyue texted Qin Muchen, saying, “Let’s have dinner together tonight. It’s on my treat.”

Then she texted him the address.

It was a long time before she got a reply. It said, “I have no time.”
