Chapter 24 That’s My Leftover

Su Yige took a look at Gong Zeyang unconsciously and then she argued, “Ziyue, what are you talking about? You’re the one who chose to work in PR Department. I know nothing about that. How can I teach you?”

Su Ziyue didn’t reply. Instead, she gave Su Yige a significant smile.

Su Ziyue didn’t know whether Gong Zeyang’s care for her was real or not. But as long as it could make things unpleasant for Su Yige, she would love it.

“You’re her cousin. You know more about work. Why didn’t you choose a better department for her?” Gong Zeyang said to Su Yige with a little reproach.

Biting her lip, Su Yige’s eyes darkened as if she was about to cry. She said in a low voice, “Zeyang, Ziyue really wants to work in PR Department. I don’t want to disappoint her…”

In fact, Su Yige did not cry at all, but her soft voice with her frustrated tone made people wanted to comfort her at once.

Gong Zeyang was a bit guilty. “I’m not blaming you,” he said to Su Yige.

Suddenly Qin Muchen stood up. “Mr. Gong, Yueyue is tired. We're leaving now.” he said.

Then he held Su Ziyue’s hand and walked away, leaving Gong Zeyang with his face darkened.

Getting out of the room, Su Ziyue was much relieved. She said, “I will never have dinner with them again.”

“I thought you would just splash the wine on your cousin’s face at that moment.”

Qin Muchen said seriously. He held her hand, walking towards the elevator.

Su Ziyue replied at once, “If I did that, Gong Zeyang would have a worse impression on me and that’s exactly what Su Yige wants. How can I let it happen?”

All of a sudden, Qin Muchen’s face darkened. “You care so much about how Gong Zeyang would think about you, don’t you?”

“…” she felt she had said something wrong.

Just then, the elevator door opened. Qin Muchen let go of her hand and walked in.

Su Ziyue followed him. She glanced at his face cautiously.

The elevator stopped on the first floor. When they were in the elevator, Qin Muchen did not give her even one look.

He was really annoyed. When she was thinking of an explanation, she saw Nan Chuan’s face.

Su Ziyue said to him first, “Hello, Mr. Nan.”

Nan Chuan looked at her and Qin Muchen and gave them a meaningful smile. “Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Qin.

Suddenly it occurred to Su Ziyue that she had broken the bottle of wine the night before, and they hadn't discussed about the compensation, so now she was extremely embarrassed to saw Nan Chuan.

Qin Muchen was probably too mad at Su Ziyue that he only glanced at Nan Chuan coldly and then walked away without saying anything.

Nan Chuan approached and asked Su Ziyue curiously. “What happened to your Mr. Qin?”

‘Your Mr. Qin…’

Su Ziyue was a bit surprised at hearing this word. She answered in a small voice, “He’s angry at me.”

Nan Chuan widened his eyes. He pointed at Su Ziyue with his mouth open. Moments later he finally managed to say, “You’re great.”

“…” Su Ziyue was puzzled.

Yet she did not forget to ask Nan Chuan, “Did your boss say how to deal with that wine?”

“That wine…” Nan Chuan deliberately prolonged the sound of the words. “Mr. Qin has already solved that. You may ask him about it. Mrs. Qin, don’t forget that we’re friends. You are welcome here at any time.”

Then he went into the elevator.

Although Su Ziyue was puzzled with Nan Chuan’s extraordinary warmth, she did not pay much attention to that.

When she went out of the Jade Palace, she saw Qin Muchen was leaning against the car with one of the doors opened. He was waiting for her.

Seeing her coming over, he said coldly, “Get in.”

Then he turned around to the other side of car and got in.

Su Ziyue buckled up the seat belt. Taking a deep breath and weighing the words, she asked, “Mr. Nan said you solved the wine thing. Did you pay for that?”

Qin Muchen didn’t look at her. “My friend lent me money.” he said coldly.

“Wow, you’ve got a great friend.” She was even a bit envious. ‘His friend is so generous to lend him the car and the large amount of money.’

Thinking for a while, she said, “I’ll pay the money back as soon as I save up.”

“No need to pay back.” He started the car.

Meanwhile, in the Jade Palace.

Gong Zeyang called the waiter, ready to pay the bill. But a tall, western man came in.

Nan Chuan smiled politely. “Mr. Gong, Miss Su. Our boss said this meal was on his treat. Welcome your next visit.”

“Your boss?” Gong Zeyang and Su Yige looked at each other in great surprise. Needless to say, they didn’t know the boss of the Jade Palace. Probably no one knew the boss in Yunzhou City.

There was a broad smile on Nan Chuan’s face. “Mr. Qin is our boss's best friend. Our boss treats you for his sake,” he said.

Gong Zeyang was astonished and shouted out the name in disbelief, “Qin Muchen?”

“Yes. It's exactly Mr. Qin Muchen. If you need anything more, feel free to ask. I'll take my leave now.” Nan Chuan said and left the room.

Both Gong Zeyang and Su Yige were deep in thought.

As for Su Ziyue, she knew nothing about what was going on in the Jade Palace.

She was now paying full attention to Qin Muchen.

As soon as they got home, Qin Muchen went straight into the bathroom.

Su Ziyue stood in front of the big bed. When the sound of water coming from the bathroom stopped, she went to the kitchen in a hurry.

When Qin Muchen got out of the bathroom, he found no one on the bed, only to hear the noise in the kitchen. He turned around to find that Su Ziyue was rummaging around. He came to the kitchen, too.

“What are you doing? Are you hungry?” he asked.

Su Ziyue slowed down. “Yes.” she answered in a small voice.

Then Qin Muchen came to her and slightly pushed her aside. He took two eggs and some vegetables and began to boil water.

Then he looked up at her, asking, “What about noodles with eggs and vegetables?”

Su Ziyue nodded quickly. Actually, she was not that hungry. The noodles might be too much.

Su Ziyue was watching his smooth movements during the process of cooking. “Are you still angry?” she asked.

“You don’t think I should be angry, do you?” Qin Muchen asked back, without looking up.

He was still in his bathrobe. His hair was slightly wet. He stared at the food in the pot, with chopsticks in his hand. His voice was calm, as if he didn't need an answer.

Su Ziyue looked at him carefully for a while. “I just want to make Su Yige feel awkward.”

“But you don’t have to choose a way that will make yourself feel uneasy. If you don’t like something, or don't want to do something, just say no. Everyone has the right to say no.”

Qin Muchen said and put the vegetable into the pot. Soon the noodles were ready.

“Come here.” Qin Muchen took the noodles to the table.

Su Ziyue was thinking of what he just said. ‘It’s true that everyone has the right to say no, but not everyone could just say no without scruple.’

Su Ziyue was not that hungry. After having had half of the noodles, she couldn't take another bite. However, Qin Muchen was right there looking at her, so she had to continue.

“Have you had enough?” suddenly Qin Muchen asked.

“Yes, I’m full.” Su Ziyue nodded.

Then, the noodles were taken by him, and...

Su Ziyue looked at Qin Muchen who was eating the noodles she left. She couldn't help but remind him, “That... that’s my leftover.”
