I heard Zaina choke on what she was eating and Denver hurriedly handed the water to my friend. Kalex, on the other hand was pissed, this made him stop from eating and stared at Quir annoyed.
"What the hell is your problem?" Kalex aggressively ran his hands through his hair while looking at Quir seriously and irritation is pretty obvious in his voice.
I gulp in no time because of feeling a bit anxious. I bit my lower lip and felt afraid for what could happen next.
"Hey, buddies! What's for lunch?" Suddenly someone appeared behind us causing me to turn a gaze to it. I breathed a sigh of relief because fortunately their friend Yuki arrived. "I went with Allaine for lunch, so I didn't get here right away. Are you guys done?" he asked in a casual tone as if it didn't even feel the tension going on here at our table.
"I'm done." Kalex said coldly and stood up rudely. I was about to stand up when he suddenly looked frowning. "Don't dare follow me." He said in a firm tone and turned his back then left us.
"I'll go with him." Denver groaned and hurriedly followed Kalex.
I leaned back in my seat and then sighed.
When can I talk to that man properly? Earlier I wanted to negotiate with him but my companions were always a hindrance.
"What's going on here? Did something bad happen before I came here?" Yuki asked while sitting in Kalex's seat.
"You told me we were going to eat lunch together? Why are you with Allaine? Are you kidding me?" Zaina growled and annoyed. She gritted her teeth and enlarged her eyes while looking at Yuki.
It looks like these two are going to fight. I still don't know what's exactly between them, but I know there's something between them, no doubt.
"I need to go. I'll be heading to the next class." I stood up and took my bag and move a gaze to Zaina. "Follow me after you eat. Don't be late." I simply say.
I turned my back on them and headed out of the cafeteria.
Honestly, I didn't even touch my lunch. I suddenly lost my appetite and I don't know why.
"Did you just hear the news? Natalie was expelled after rummaging in her locker this morning. I'm not sure what they saw in her locker to expel her, but some students say that what she has been doing these days is against school rules and regulations. "
Natalie? Are they referring to Natali Heurt? The Supreme Student President of the campus?
I stopped walking when I heard what the woman said, as I passed their table. I was suddenly consumed by curiosity and wanted to hear more than what I've just heard. I pretended to be searching for something in the bag, so that it wasn't obvious that I was listening to what they were talking about.
"That's absurd and hard to believe. There's so many idiots here on campus who can be expelled, but why is it to be her?" replied by the other girl.
Okay, that's enough for me to hear.
I continued walking out of the cafeteria again. I also wonder what is the reason why Natalie got expelled. They do not simply expel a student, unless the reason is too serious and can no longer be solve by suspension.
While I was busy having my own world in mind, I did not realize the student approaching me, causing me to collide with her and throw away the books she was holding.
"I'm sorry." I apologized and then helped her pick up the books. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to— " I stopped speaking when she harshly took the book I had picked up.
Her eyes were sharp as she stared at me and it caused me to gulp and frightened by the way she's looking at me.
"The damage has been done. Just be careful next time because not everything you bump into will get you through the word sorry." She coldly said before standing up and turning her back on me.
I could not speak because I felt like her frightening presence left in my spot and now I was trying to get myself organized and ignore what she said.
But her voice seems familiar. I can't be wrong.
I almost jumped in shock when I felt someone holding my hand in a sudden. "Let's go. Classes will be about to start." said by a man's voice.
When I turned to face who it was, I saw Quir. "D-Did she just threatened me a while ago?" I trembled as if fear corrupted my whole body.
"It's not a threat. She's just reminding you not to space out while you are walking." Quir simply answered then help me get up before we left.
But why does it seem like it overpowers me as if that woman is scaring me? Especially when I heard her voice, it sounded like she was the woman I heard talking to someone yesterday in the comfort room.
