Faith's brusies were non existent by this time and Dea had not hit her or given her any more injuries either. Alpha Rigie took a lot of interest in faith's personal life. Faith was not very happy with that but the pressure on her was high.
Her sisters resented her even more. Dea avoided her mostly and on occasions yelled at her to the point where she did not have to beat her to bring tears to her eyes.
In short, it was one hell of a one week that Faith endured.
She was not that excited to leave for the Gala at first but after suffering the unnecessary amount of humiliation and badmouthing, Faith was happy to leave for a few days.
Alpha Rigie picked Faith up in his car along with a few warriors. An Alpha never left his pack without warriors, it was necessary. It didn't matter if the Alpha was the strongest among other wolves, if an attack happened out of nowherez even the Alpha won't be able to take it upon himself.
The warriors were in the car behind them and Alpha Rigie asked Faith to sit with him in his own car. On the driver's seat was another warrior who was supposed to drive them to the location where the Gala had to take place.
The venue of th Gala was always fixed. It took place in the same hall every year. The Gathering hall. The hall was more of a huge construction on the same estate as the mansion of the Alpha Prime. The Gathering hall is only opened once a year to hold the Gala and kept locked up for the rest of the year.
That's what Faith had heard after doing a lot of research on the topic. As for the Alpha Prime, there was not a singl picture of him on the pack's social media page. She didn't know his name either which made it even more difficult to search about him.
Only the Alpha's and Luna's who ever had come in contact with the Alpha Prime knew what he looked like. Other than a few handful, no one outside his estate had seen his face. And even if they had come accross him, they wouldn't know it was him in the first place!
Faith had packed a bag with her clothes in it, and a seprate bag for the Gala dress. It was a week long event and the Alpha's and Luna's could arrive at any time within that one week. The rule was to arrive at most a day before the Gala.
The car drive was three days long according to the warrior who was driving the car. Faith's shock was soon recovered when she heard that they could have gone by flight or even a chopper but there was no place to land in the vicinity as it was covered in dense evergreen forest and was halway up a hill.
So driving was the only option they had.
In the three days drive Alpha Rigie tried to get closer to Faith. He spoke to her as if they were century old friends, took care of her and what not. But Faith was not buying it. She knew enough of his character to not fall for his tricks. His playboy acts had taken the life of jis own mate and he was a shameless person who did not regret taking her life.
Faith was disgusted by his tricks for making a pass at her. Faith ignored him most of the time and if absolutely necessary, she would occasionally give respectful responses.
"When we arrive there, if anyone asks who you are then don't say anything. I will answer all the questions and handle everything. You just had to stay next to me and keep smiling quietly." Alpha Rigie reminded her for the upteetnth time.
Faith had already understood that Alpha Rigie wanted to her hand onto him like an accessory. He did not have to keep saying it again and again and give her a headache.
"Yes Alpha." She answered politely.
"It's good that you are so understanding. If your sister Winter was to be in your place, it would have been a pain to get her to behave as I want." Alpha Rigie stated and shook his head. Faith stiffened in her place and clenched her jaw.
Winter was not a very good sister, but hearing someone else, an outsider, talk about her like this made her uncomfortable. Almost mad. She did not want to listen a word against her family no matter how much they troubled her.
"Winter is sensible. If she thinks she is able to do something then she can do it. She is determined when she sets her mind to something." Faith defended her sister.
Alpha Rigie awkwardly chuckled, "Yeah. That's also true."
Silence took over the two after that and the ride was peaceful again. The car was going ahead at a high speed. Faith opened the window on her side and leaned her elbow on it to feel th cool breeze of the night.
She looked up to see the visible dots of shining stars with the moon. The glitters scattered all over the black canvas and the moon stood out like a painfully beautiful smudge of paint among them. She loved the feeling of looking at the moon. It gave her the sense of familiarity. As if she was being looked over by someone who was there for her. The moon always followed,
